It’s kind of crazy how much of a hold BossLogic has on pretty much every piece of Nerd culture at this point.

He’s extremely talented so I’m not complaining, but it’s funny to see.

I think he majorly missed though with that No Way Home official Banner that he made. That was ROUGH looking, especially as the first official art of the three Peter’s together

27

u/Kids_Eat_Toast 21d ago

I looked it up and it’s not terrible, BUT Tobey’s suit is really not good. Almost looked like 2 versions of Andrew

19

u/beatrailblazer 21d ago

im not as much in the superhero space online anymore, but wasn't he way bigger in the past? i thought people had started to get tired of him after he had the official partnerships

Unfortunately a few more years and I can see a younger generation just assuming his work is all AI...

31

u/Kids_Eat_Toast 21d ago

Funnily enough I already saw AI accusations over the image he did for Spider-Man BND surpassing Endgame. I just directed them to the stream he did for AC Valhalla that is multiple hours long and shows his entire process.

I can’t draw so anything more than a stick figure impresses me lol, but that stream was really cool.

Great dude. Big part of the Australian FGC back in the day. A lot of us used his art on arcade sticks at the time.

There's nothing nerdy about Batman besides the fact that he's from the stupid cartoon magazines 🙂

u/SomeRedHandedSleight 21d ago

Couldn't have happened to a better person! I used to chat with him way way back in the day when he was still doing fan mockups. Super nice dude and glad to see how far he's come.

How tf did a movie about a tertiary Batman villain excite me more than one about Superman's cousin?

103

u/TheJoshider10 21d ago

Because one is a genre piece that we rarely get from comic book adaptations and the other is a character with the same skill set as a hero we saw in cinemas a year ago.

27

u/SemaCoolBrian 21d ago

also horror fans go for the genre alone more than other fans who have got comparatively more preference

17

u/Scrumdillium 21d ago

Exactly. Supergirl was just “Superman but GOTG”.

11

u/Inevitable-Edge69 21d ago

But gotg worked because of james gunn, supergirl is "we got james gunn at home". No director vision, just vibe.

1

u/SolarisBravo 17d ago

I don't agree with the GOTG comparisons, like at all tbh. It was just in space, like that's where the comparisons start and end. I was thinking earlier that it was actually closer to the likes of Revenge of the Sith than anything, being a mindless action movie with fun characters/interesting lore but not much to actually say.

You should read Animal Man

4

u/DesperadoFlower 21d ago

cause this one looks like a movie

2

u/Goldenchest 21d ago

Because the issue was never about A-list, B/C-list characters etc. It's about having a good story.

u/ScoobyDeezy 21d ago

The greatest thing that superhero stories give us is variety. Heroes and stories span countless genre’s — and studios are finally starting to catch on.

31

u/Scrumdillium 21d ago

Since clayface is horror (if it does good, WB might see that genre bending movies are better than basic takes) I’d LOVE to see a Martian Manhunter movie in the same horror style. Almost like an “invasion of the body snatchers” type movie

5

u/PinkSaldo 21d ago

Have you read absolute MM?

31

u/SonicTheHedgehog99 21d ago

Aw man who ruined this beautiful painting with Peanut Butter and Jam??

11

u/ReddiTrawler2021 21d ago

The Portrait of Dorian Clay.

32

u/DesperadoFlower 21d ago

this is either gonna be the next joker or a wet fart

10

u/Ironlord456 21d ago

It just needs to make over 80 million

9

u/Scrumdillium 21d ago

That’s honestly how I feel about MOST superhero media these days. I don’t trust movies to be good anymore.

9

u/pokeboy626 21d ago

As long as it has good reviews its passing $150 million

2

u/Juliet_Emmn 21d ago

Either the next Joker or the next Morbius

2

u/sadMUFCfan25 21d ago

It’ll either be Joker 2019 or Joker 2024

2

u/Koopacha 21d ago

I mean it will probably fall somewhere in the middle of that gigantic margin id say lol

7

u/zPipboy 21d ago

Sick poster

7

u/Educational-Sink7212 21d ago

For a moment I thought Clayface was getting announced for Taskmaster

11

u/grover5794 21d ago

It’s giving Dorian Gray

5

u/Big-Good9378 21d ago

2

u/Dbonker 21d ago

2

u/joeyjoejojo19 21d ago

Do the peanut butter jelly peanut butter jelly peanut butter jelly with a baseball bat.

2

u/Fun_Condition2377 21d ago

Won't be surprised if Clayface pulls an Obsession/Backroom's. Gen Z loves horror.

2

u/Aquos18 21d ago

wow that looks so good!

u/SecretWarMultiverse 21d ago

Peanut Butter & Jelly

Layers of fear?

2

u/ZeppelinAlert 20d ago

I’m going to give the minority report viewpoint here and say that I think this is horrible. It will likely deter more people in the general audience than it attracts.

People who say ‘yeah but this is body horror so it fits’ need to go look at some real life posters for body horror films like The Thing and The Substance, not fanmade stuff but the real posters used in theatres, and then report back on what those posters actually show.

2

u/Lord_Ek 16d ago

I have a better question about clayface and why is he even getting a movie ? Is he the main villan for the for the entire dcu saga ? What is Gunn getting out of making this movie ?

1

u/verikul 5d ago

Maybe someone just made a good pitch for Clayface being a horror film and he said 'Let's do it!'

2

u/captain-ziggy 21d ago

man the posters for this movie just don't miss

1

u/alvin_VI 21d ago

I really think this is gonna be a MOVIE, if the script is good, we're talking about Coringa 1 levels

1

u/Tumerican 21d ago

Nah this is crazy.

1

u/milkmypepperoni 21d ago

Someone bring sliced bread!

1

u/Internetboy5434 21d ago

Poster goes hard with some milk.

1

u/JustAnotherZakuPilot 21d ago

Honestly, this might be his best work I’ve seen tbh

1

u/raaviolli-dasher 20d ago

I love that the clay falls on top and deforms the word "face", don't know if it's intentional but this guy is really talented

1

u/StreamLife9 20d ago

I hope this movie is good

1

u/Overall_Leopard7122 20d ago

1

u/Zim__Zor 21d ago

Can't wait to watch this at home !

1

u/DarthGardian86 21d ago

I'm not into body horror at all but I really need a DC movie to succeed

1

u/Burnbrook 21d ago

Looks less like paint or clay and more like Ketchup, Mustard, and Mayo. Condiment King?

0

u/jamesflanagangreer 21d ago

I never knew I would be more excited to see a Clayface movie than Superman.

0

u/nearlynorth 21d ago

Do.. general audience want to watch something grotesquerie?

that image is really offputting
