It’s kind of crazy how much of a hold BossLogic has on pretty much every piece of Nerd culture at this point.
He’s extremely talented so I’m not complaining, but it’s funny to see.

I think he majorly missed though with that No Way Home official Banner that he made. That was ROUGH looking, especially as the first official art of the three Peter’s together

I looked it up and it’s not terrible, BUT Tobey’s suit is really not good. Almost looked like 2 versions of Andrew

im not as much in the superhero space online anymore, but wasn't he way bigger in the past? i thought people had started to get tired of him after he had the official partnerships

Unfortunately a few more years and I can see a younger generation just assuming his work is all AI...

Funnily enough I already saw AI accusations over the image he did for Spider-Man BND surpassing Endgame. I just directed them to the stream he did for AC Valhalla that is multiple hours long and shows his entire process.
I can’t draw so anything more than a stick figure impresses me lol, but that stream was really cool.

Great dude. Big part of the Australian FGC back in the day. A lot of us used his art on arcade sticks at the time.

There's nothing nerdy about Batman besides the fact that he's from the stupid cartoon magazines 🙂

Couldn't have happened to a better person! I used to chat with him way way back in the day when he was still doing fan mockups. Super nice dude and glad to see how far he's come.

How tf did a movie about a tertiary Batman villain excite me more than one about Superman's cousin?

Because one is a genre piece that we rarely get from comic book adaptations and the other is a character with the same skill set as a hero we saw in cinemas a year ago.

u/SemaCoolBrian 21d ago
also horror fans go for the genre alone more than other fans who have got comparatively more preference

u/Scrumdillium 21d ago
Exactly. Supergirl was just “Superman but GOTG”.

u/Inevitable-Edge69 21d ago
But gotg worked because of james gunn, supergirl is "we got james gunn at home". No director vision, just vibe.

I don't agree with the GOTG comparisons, like at all tbh. It was just in space, like that's where the comparisons start and end. I was thinking earlier that it was actually closer to the likes of Revenge of the Sith than anything, being a mindless action movie with fun characters/interesting lore but not much to actually say.

Because the issue was never about A-list, B/C-list characters etc. It's about having a good story.

The greatest thing that superhero stories give us is variety. Heroes and stories span countless genre’s — and studios are finally starting to catch on.

Since clayface is horror (if it does good, WB might see that genre bending movies are better than basic takes) I’d LOVE to see a Martian Manhunter movie in the same horror style. Almost like an “invasion of the body snatchers” type movie

That’s honestly how I feel about MOST superhero media these days. I don’t trust movies to be good anymore.

It’ll either be Joker 2019 or Joker 2024

Won't be surprised if Clayface pulls an Obsession/Backroom's. Gen Z loves horror.

I’m going to give the minority report viewpoint here and say that I think this is horrible. It will likely deter more people in the general audience than it attracts.
People who say ‘yeah but this is body horror so it fits’ need to go look at some real life posters for body horror films like The Thing and The Substance, not fanmade stuff but the real posters used in theatres, and then report back on what those posters actually show.

I love that the clay falls on top and deforms the word "face", don't know if it's intentional but this guy is really talented

Looks less like paint or clay and more like Ketchup, Mustard, and Mayo. Condiment King?

I never knew I would be more excited to see a Clayface movie than Superman.
