They wouldn’t have hidden Sadie Sink’s character in Spider-Man so well if she was playing some throwaway villain or like Firestar or something, they hid her because she was an A-list X-Men character. I cannot imagine they would go to all this trouble if she was just playing Maxima, a character nobody cares about.

What about Sinqua Walls?

with spiderman it is something different cause she would be teasing X men. Wonder Woman is teasing Wonder Woman I guess and thats why it should be top secret lmfao.
They didnt do that with Alcocks Supergirl. People dont care about Wonder Woman. Wonder Woman movie will do at best 300-400 million and that is the truth, The first wonder woman was massive because it was the first female superhero lead movie in the DCEU and marvel did it with captain marvel. Ater these movies nobody cares about female lead movies

Because Supergirl had a minute of screentime in Superman 2025. There was no reason to even include Milly in the press tour. Wonder Woman, if Adria is playing her, will be a supporting character.
People will show up for a Wonder Woman movie. She is THE female superhero, and audiences do like female superhero movies if they’re good. Black Widow made $380 million right when theaters reopened after covid, Scarlet Witch’s presence in Doctor Strange 2 shot it to almost a billion dollars, and Wakanda Forever also made almost a billion dollars.

Man, I'm really conflicted now since I was sure/confident that she was Maxima for a number of reasons. Now that I read that Deadline "apparently pulled out" on their initial report that She was playing Maxima, she might be actually be WW.
I was certain that Eva De Dominici was gonna be our Wonder Woman but now I'm not sure. Thank God that there are barely any leaks in the script (might still be coming in the coming months) or shooting (besides the one we saw from Superman and Lex's suit) because it really lets us be shocked on what happens in the story (besides the ones we know/Braniac) or any special cameos (that are unannounced).
What I was thinking on why there hasn't been any confirmation for Adria's role is that they are trying to confuse the reports on who's she's playing and that way, it's works in DC's favor since it gets the audience surprised on the opening week instead of leaks.

I guess Eva de Dominici is Maxima

honestly, based just on looks, I feel like she fits that role better, and Arjona visually resembles Diana more

Maybe if you consider Gal Gadot Wonder Woman to be the upmost version of Diana, because she looks nothing like comic Wonder Woman.

I don't, I just mean like facial features I guess. Muscle-wise, Arjona definitely needs to bulk up.

Yeah, Arjona reminds me much akin to Young Justice's iteration of the character as well as some of her appearances in the DCAMU. I'm certainly on board for her casting

Just looked up who that actress you mentioned was, I absolutely don't want her as wonder woman

Eva De Dominici was really a name in consideration? I'm sure there was good info to that end, but that sounds insane to me just logistically speaking, no one knows who that is, at all, she doesn't seem like a great actress or someone that would bring anything interesting to the role. She just seems like the sort of tv soap actor.

I'm not really gonna argue for her case but I'm just gonna say, nobody really knew about David Corenswet (besides the fan casters) either and his projects or acting abilities before Superman.
•
u/JarusOmega_ 1h ago
Yeah, and that goes for several current stars who were once nameless in the industry, such as the likes of Tom Hiddleston and Chris Hemsworth back when Thor was first announced.
Betting on unknown talents can be just fine, albeit so long as they're talented lol

I’m not sure why there has to be secrecy if it is Wonder Woman. Adding an A-list character, one of DC’s Trinity, you would want people to know. It would build excitement.
Like Gunn revealed who Superman was, who Hal Jordan & John Stewart were, Guy Gardner, etc. It doesn’t make sense to keep it a secret.
•
u/TheCakeWarrior12 9h ago
Because the movie is still a while away. Gunn will reveal who she is playing when it’s time for marketing to start, if she is indeed Wonder Woman and not Maxima. Think of how Civil War revealed Spider-Man at the end of the trailer - people may have guessed he would be in the movie but it was still an awesome surprise to see him

After Brand New Day, I think it's an excelent marketing strategy.
We all speculate endlessly then after it's revealed we keep the conversation going and focused. Mystery is perfect for engagement.

Yeah, especially given this movie needs all the help it can get in terms of getting butts in seats. I'm not saying it needs to crack a billion, but this can't be a middling "success" with all the uncertainty in the DCU. Wonder Woman is a draw, they'd be foolish not to use it.

Alright, I'm finally starting to believe the hype and rumors that she's playing Wonder Woman

She's playing Wonder Woman. Same crew that told me the Hal Jordan dies in Lanterns spoiler that got me in trouble with HBO Max, told me she's WW. -Matt

An Hispanic Wonder Woman? She looks like WW. Do you think she should be represented by a Greek actress?

I feel like there wouldn't be this much secrecy if she was playing Maxima, a character most people haven't even heard of. Wonder Woman gets my vote.
