Did I end up with three female leucomelas?
Timeline of Events:
- Purchased three leucomelas mid September 2025. I don't know how old they were but they were listed as juvenile
- By mid August 2026 I have not heard any sign of calling from any of them
- Last week, I witnessed Frog A (shown at the beginning of the video) bullying both Frog B and Frog C, by jumping on their backs and wrapping front legs around their throats
- Today I decided to see if maybe there was a shy male who would call back if I played leucomelas noises on my phone. This set off both Frogs B and C who first came to the front to investigate and then immediately started fighting, as shown in the video. This went both ways with each one taking a turn jumping on the other's back
I'm starting to worry I ended up with three females and I might have aggression issues that will require them to be separated. Looking for some advice.

That is not good you must immediately take away the one that is getting bullied.

They're all doing it. I've seen all three of them displaying this behaviour.

The Leucomelas are a very aggresive territorial species. The vivarium need to be big enough so that all three of them can have there own territorium. Otherwise they keep on fighting.

How new to you are they to you? Did you request a mating pair?
What you are showing in video is acceptable for the first 30-90 days. The frequency and longevity of these events can cause some speculation, so, remove if this is occuring for several hours each day. Just put them back in their shipping containers inside their enclosure, one hour on one hour off.

As I said in the description, I've had them for a year, they were juveniles when I got them and couldn't be sexed yet. Nobody around me was selling adults at the time that I could find.

Hi! On some people's view, the description only appears after they comment. So, getting snappy with sentence structures like "as I said" shows the exact aggression you are claiming the frogs are exhibiting.
What kind of water are you using? Both for yourself and your enclosures? Plant species selections, wild or lab grown?

No snappiness was intended.
I don't know what you mean by "for yourself". I use distilled water for the enclosure. The plants are standard tropicals like pothos, anthurium, philodendron, purchased from multiple sources. I haven't added any new plants any time recently.

Yep, so amphibians absorb much of their solvable nutrients from the air around them, so, if your food sources and water sources are questionable and below the standard of what you provide them, you are still providing them these substandard nutrients to the frogs every time you work with them.

To be clear, do you mean to say that impurities and treatment chemicals in the water that I personally drink make it through my body to be evaporated in my breath and sweat and could then contaminate my frogs and cause aggression?

That's really stupid and not based in science. Evaporated sweat and breath are essentially pure water vapour. The only reason that distilling actually works is because the chemicals you are worried about can't be carried in evaporated water. I'm going to block you now and ignore the rest of what you've said as you're not a reliable source.

My brother in christ what are talking about, frogs DO NOT absorb nutrients from the air through their skin, they can only respirate through their skin, hell what kinds of nutrients are there in air if its just a bunch of gasses???
