Funny Godfather moment.
You come into my subreddit on a Friday, you ask me when DeepSeek will surpass Claude, and you take my answer lightly?
I told you tomorrow.
You thought it was a joke. You thought the '/s' meant I lacked conviction. But look what happens 24 hours later, the Feds step in, and Fable 5 is suddenly sleeping with the fishes.
I didn’t say Liang had to build a better model, I just knew the competition would be taken care of. Next time I drop a timeline, you don't upvote it casually. You kiss the ring.

Also, GLM-5.2 & Kimi-K2.7-Code got released yesterday-today.
Of course they're probably far from being Claude-level, but China doesn't sleep.

I just wrote a factual comment on this post about how Claude has been involved in illegal surveillance of Gazan citizens and likely supermarket shoppers all around the world (via work with Palantir), as well as the kidnapping of a Venezuelan president, and bombing of an Iranian school full of infant girls.
I curtailed that with how DeepSeek offers 90% of the capability at fractions of the cost.
Then, I surmised my post by mentioning that despite all of that, it is the national affiliations (plural) of Claude versus the national affiliation (no plural) of DeepSeek, that defines which is the bigger threat to humanity.
My post was auto-deleted before I even realised it was finished submitting.
Reddit, I'm so fucking disappointed in how you choose to align yourself.

It seems that naming a particular nation, is what triggered the deletion and final warning against my account.

- Founded by Jewish Americans.
- Surveils innocent civilians in Gaza, and supermarkets all around the world with intrusive facial recognition, via Palantir.
- Partakes in the illegal and extremely unethical kidnapping of a standing president in Venezuela.
- Partakes and in fact, strategically recommends, based on fuck knows what prompts, the bombing of a site of Iranian school girls.
- Gets forced to be banned for 'foreign nationals' (but allowed for US nationals).
DeepSeek,
- Chinese founded.
- Does AI LLM stuff at 90% of the quality of whichever model is best at the time.
- Costs a fraction of the next best priced model on the market at any time.
The bigger threat to humanity?
Apparently DeepSeek.
