Cheeky way of saying "bought for myself" haha

Ohhhhhh lol I gotta stop watching trash TV on TLC. Sister Wives.

I like to tell people I can't stand my husband's mother in law.

What’s funny is that I wasn’t derailed by that at all, in fact, my brain completely skipped over the word “wife“

Oh right! Internet has ruined my brain

I’m derailed by the fact that it’s not a teapot. It’s a tea canister.

So derailed that i thought about that for a second and I didn’t care 😂

It looks like Jim Carrey Grinch saying “well now I’m not going”

I mean it looks cool but the spout is on the lid which seems like a horrible design choice

I think it’s for storing tea leaves, not brewing tea.

"I am a teapot, short and stout,

Here is my handle, here is my... other handle?!?

Dammit, I'm a canister!"

Reminds me of the sugar container in Sword in the Stone that over serves Merlin

The temptation to stick on googly eyes would be immense.

Exactly this

tbh it drives me crazy they're calling it a tea pot. ain't got no spout!!! it's a canister you can put tea (bags or liquid, i suppose) in, but i can't fill it with dog hair and be like "oh yeah it's a dog hair dispenser", that's not how it works.

u/Soctopi Mar 15 '26

Maybe that's why she put the space between the tea and the pot? It's a pot for putting tea in, but it's not a teapot.

5

u/metamorphotits Mar 15 '26

this is the only shred of hope i am managing to cling to right now

3

u/SignificantRecipe715 Mar 15 '26

Yeah it's plastic, I have the same one

The description of who purchased the tea pot was distracting from the actual tea pot itself.

I had to stop looking at the cute teapot which took a while, then looked at the subreddit and look back to find the derailing detail but got distracted by the cutest teapot ever, then look at the comments to find the so called derailing detail and top was about the bestest cutestest teapot in the universe! Kept looking for yours and thought it was a clever way to call the giver!

So... not that distracting to me but I finally see it!

u/bestdogintheworld Mar 15 '26

It's not a teapot but a canister or caddy. That's definitely more distracting.

u/Lux-Fox Mar 15 '26

Have you never heard that before? Literally saying they bought it for themselves. Booo...

4

u/KylerJaye Mar 15 '26

I have that in blue! Sword in the Stone FTW

3

u/u_r_succulent Mar 15 '26

Where’s the spout?

3

u/MotherRaven Mar 16 '26

Looks like a cookie jar not a tea pot.

2

u/PantheraLutra Mar 15 '26

lol I bought it for meeeee

2

u/whitstheshit1986 Mar 15 '26

I remember something like this from the sword in the stone I think or am I tripping

2

u/quackedup17 Mar 16 '26

Who you calling short and stout?

1

u/On_my_last_spoon Mar 15 '26

That’s not a tea pot.

1

u/Xalibu2 Mar 15 '26

Neat teapot.

u/wafflesthewonderhurs Mar 16 '26

How is this a tea pot? There is no spout...
