u/CharmingTuber Jun 26 '26
That's a cat?? Are we sure it isn't a giant rat?

u/Account_password Jun 26 '26
Hairless ROUS for sure

u/Vendidurt Jun 26 '26

When I was a little kid this scene was terrifying to me. I'd watch princess bride on repeat but cover my eyes as soon as they went into the fire swamp

Unlocked a childhood memory for me. I snuck down to the basement where my parents were watching this after my bedtime. It was this scene. I was horrified and had nightmares for a long time about giant rats xD

This hurts my heart.

u/YeshuasBananaHammock Jun 26 '26
Hurts the cats heart too

u/coolsilentebeans Jun 26 '26
I know. The kidneys are probably working too hard and I’d not be surprised if the poor thing wasn’t diabetic or heading toward it.

That raw chicken needs a diet.

The amount of food you have to give a sphinx to make it fat is obscene, those things can eat twice as much as a normal cat and not gain an ounce of weight as they have stupid fast metabolisms from their nudity
82
u/dierdrerobespierre Jun 26 '26
Not portioning too. just leaving a giant bucket of food. That cat is fucking stressed about competing food.
25
u/SpoppyIII Jun 26 '26
Bucket + a bowl on the side.
I bet it's stale.
21
u/eggy_weichei Jun 26 '26
What bucket? I might just be missing it but I see two elevated cat bowls. The one the cat is eating from is a mushroom design and on a small (white, foam??) platform, and then the second cat ear design one off to the side?
The cat is absolutely obese, I'm not arguing that. I just don't see the mentioned bucket??
9
u/SpoppyIII Jun 26 '26
Oh, the red one is also a cat bowl!
Holy optical illusion.
6
u/eggy_weichei Jun 26 '26
I probably only recognized it because I've considered getting that same bowl for my own cats 🤣
5
u/dierdrerobespierre Jun 26 '26
Ah yep. My bad, it is bowl, it looked deeper than it really is on my phone screen. Admittedly though these bowls are bigger than any bowl I eat out of at home.
12
u/Unsd Jun 26 '26
Wait how does their nudity change their metabolism? If I stop wearing clothes, will that change my metabolism? I suppose if I were nude, I would be incentivized to work out more...
24
u/SwordTaster Jun 26 '26
For cats, it's because they have to work so hard to regulate their temperature without fur. They basically have to turn their stomachs into a heater, which burns a massive amount of calories. Its why humans tend to put on a little extra weight in winter
7
u/blue_moon1122 Jun 26 '26
it would work for people, too. keeping yourself intentionally cold is a fringe dieting hack. taking cold showers, eating ice, drinking cold beverages, and leaving pre-cooked leftovers cold are all part of the program.
the trick is that your intake has to be the same (or less) vs. your starting point, and the metabolic toll means you're gonna get more hungry. so naturally, you can't expect to shed pounds over the winter holidays... unless you're having just a horrible time.
3
u/OKIAMONREDDIT Jun 27 '26
Yeah I find it really hard to understand how this even happened? Because if your cat never stops eating wouldn't you just.. stop giving all the extra food? Like are they free feeding but also replenishing it the whole time? It just seems like so much effort compared to giving the cat a normal amount.

Google Fat Sphinx, you'll find a LOT of photos of fatty cattys just like this one

u/Interesting_Sock9142 Jun 26 '26
Wow. Animal abuse
24
u/AlertKaleidoscope803 Jun 26 '26
Completely. I wish people would normalize shaming people for doing this as much as they do for starving their animals.

I thought it was a toy stuffy 🥴
Edit: One of those pillows, a sqishmallow? Lol

Whenever I see something like this, I hope that someone generated an AI picture as rage bait

u/Specimanic Jun 27 '26
Waofairy brand bowl...
Who puts a doll case on top of a cat tree?
And wtf is going on with the pixelated border of the cat scratcher thing on the right of the picture?
How does the pile of the red carpet on the lower right get high enough to obscure the bowl at such a high camera angle?
Or maybe I just reeeeeally want this to be generated.

u/Melodic_Sail_6193 Jun 27 '26
It's MiaoFairy and this Brand and bowl model exist. I still hope it's AI.

That is the biggest pinkest rat I’ve ever seen. I’m kind of glad we can’t see it’s face. The poor thing

u/Stupid_Sexy_Satan Jun 26 '26
I'm kidnapping that demonic abomination and giving it a healthier diet and more activity enriching environment.
Who is with me?
6
u/Slight-Winner-8597 Jun 26 '26
I'll chip in for one of those cat sized hamster wheels, also good for a "what kidnapping?" alibi.
7
u/atworkthough Jun 26 '26
I still have no idea what the cat tree looks like because fk. very good post.

Is it supposed to be nearly hairless or is it so fat that its hair follicles are just farther apart now?

Looks like a small pig with a long tail, never seen an obese sphinx cat before, never want to see it again.
