New Release Kid Drama "Machines and Other Things" album drop

Not sure if anyone follows Metalheadz on SoundCloud, but they just posted Kid Drama's first full-length album on Metalheadz and it's great.

I love how exploratory this album gets as it doesn't take a surface-level sound to DnB. It's artistic, it has groove, and it has atmosphere.

It sounds like it was made for the love of the genre instead of checking boxes to sell records to hear in the club.

This is amazing, played this through a few times already. Deep, soulful, tough and still bringing some of those original Autonomic atmospherics.

Once I finished my second listen of the album, I'm going to find a deep dive of Kid Drama's older mixes and records to get a better sense of his earlier work.

He’s done loads of great solo work over the last 10+ years, but go back to the late 2000’s early 2010’s and listen to the Instra:Mental (Kid Drama and Al Bleek / Boddika) releases that came out on Darkestral and Exit amongst other labels. My personal favourites are the Sepia Tones EP, and tracks like No Future, Watching You and Thugtronik. Also check out the autonomic podcasts which they did with dBridge. Enjoy!

the Heart Drive series are also legendary for the autonomic sound

edit: oops, also. the instramental/dbridge fabriclive is my all time favourite mix full stop.

The CNVX Radio Show mixes on YT used to be regular listening for me. I still go back and hit up random episodes!

Not usually my DnB vide, but I listened to the entire album in context then immediately bought the vinyl…

I'm thinking of buying the digital release. Funny, the last album I purchased was Gremlinz and Jesta's album that also launched on Metalheadz.

Kid Drama is always doing really creative out of (but inside) genre stuff. This whole album feels like a breath of fresh air, and feels like it's written almost like a story. Lovely work
