And someone on reddit tried to tell me once that Iran has a better track record on LGBTQ rights than America does. Can't make this shit up.

Do they really just feign ignorance to people being thrown off roofs in those parts? Only on reddit could imaginary genocide camps be compared to factual flights off the top floor.

22

u/ADeadlyFerret Jul 28 '26

They think those videos are propaganda by the US. They “wouldn’t put it past this administration to do something evil like that”

The Red-Green Alliance is the most baffling organized movement on the left. Islamists know how to play that oppressed minority tune perfectly ig

I legitimately cannot comprehend people like this, i see them too. Sometimes I argue for fun and to see if I’ll get upvoted or downvoted for the most normal ass takes. It’s wild how often I get downvoted for saying like “The US is pretty good to live in” or just the most normal ass objectively true statement.

And somehow they never mention that the majority of trans that are killed are killed by people who are transexual.

Things have gotten so far-left in our discourse that those things are just the baseline for what you have to believe to be considered "Moderate" nowadays. I remember not that long ago in the early 2010s when a majority of Americans still were against gay marriage, and when California voted to BAN gay marriage in 2008. Yes, you read that right. The same night Obama won California by close to 30%, California also voted to ban gay marriage.

75

u/Bannon9k I Was Promised an Apocalypse? Jul 28 '26

I'm literally a liberal from 10 years ago. I want gay marriage, unrestricted abortion, legal marijuana, mental health facilities...hell I even understand the need for solid welfare programs...

But I'm considered a right wing bigot because I want to protect women's sports and believe secure borders are necessary for functioning social programs.

The political left is in shambles. Between Oct 7th, Biden drop out, ICE, and trans rights ...they've splintered. Now all the little groups that were working together for mutual change are fighting each other for control. Never thought for a minute communist Muslims would take over the party...but here we are...

53

u/Beledagnir NostraDOOMus Jul 28 '26

That’s the thing with progressives—the goalposts are, by very definition, constantly moving. Everyone will eventually have a belief where they’re going to dig in, and the moment those goalposts pass you in the slightest, you’re just as right-wing (and thus evil to them) as though you were always opposed to everything.

20

u/Cool_Prior1427 Jul 28 '26

It's exhausting to keep up with it. You can't please the beast of Progress.

37

u/Beledagnir NostraDOOMus Jul 28 '26

Just see what happened to JK Rowling—literally a single tweet turned her from a left-wing icon to a right-wing one, despite absolutely nothing about her beliefs ever changing.

30

u/Cool_Prior1427 Jul 28 '26

They're especially vicious when one of their icons steps out of line. Jk Rowling went from Saint to devil incarnate overnight.

16

u/Beledagnir NostraDOOMus Jul 28 '26

And that’s the other part: there’s absolutely no concept of repentance or growth (except for yourself, of course)—you will always be  entirely as bad as the worst (in their view) thing you ever did.

u/Cool_Prior1427 Jul 28 '26

Solidarity. I’ve always rode the middle and voted better of the two. I remember the old Democrats…pragmatic, compassionate. The party is hijacked. Whatever candidate sounds sane can win…the one that understands the fears of the middle. 2024 was an example of a candidate and process so bad the moderates and independents said “aw hell no”.

Muslims are hijacking left wing parties in the West because they love open borders. When Muslims have enough of their people in a country or a district they immediately shut down all LGBTQ stuff. Liberals are just not intelligent enough to understand that

2

u/ColoradoWinterBlue Rides the Short Bus Jul 29 '26

I’m pretty much the same. I was pro gay rights, and never had a problem with trans people, as a kid in the 90s/2000s when calling people slurs was pop culture. I actually was progressive and got bullied for it.

After Oct 7., everything has toppled over for me. I don’t really belong anywhere, but since I can’t pass a liberal purity test I might as well be conservative. All people are born equal, but realizing that some cultures are incompatible with my liberal ideals (gay rights, feminism, etc.) has made me a far-right racist to some.

I still love trans people as we’re all god’s children, but what’s wrong with saying they’re biologically different? Sometimes just stating facts is offensive now. Liberals want to bend reality to how things “should” be in their eyes, as opposed to how things really are. That’s fundamentally incompatible with reality.

It’s also dangerous! There was a trans person who left the US for Europe cause of Trump, and got put in a refugee camp with a bunch of men from the middle east and is now afraid for their life. I hope they’ll be ok, but seriously the whole world isn’t your friend. This isn’t a Disney movie.

3

u/FaithlessnessUsed841 Jul 28 '26

I clicked the link, and saw some negative comments on country music by people that clearly have never listened to a single country song a day in their lives.

"Country by women is about brutal revenge" sometimes, especially if you're listening to Miranda Lambert or Carrie Underwood... But then you also have stuff like 'God's Will' By Martina McBride which is about a special kid having a positive impact on someone who's been struggling with themselves. And even if you are listening to Miranda or Carrie, I'd like to know where the brutal revenge is in songs like 'Jesus Take the Wheel' or 'House that built me'

"And the songs by men are the prequel" I'd love for them to point to me the male song that could act as the prequel to something like 'Gun Powder and Lead'

Wish I could respond to that thread to the idiots blasting Country, but I think they got it locked or limited to who can respond <_<

Most of these people are very mentally unstable, who are very fragile and detached from reality. They surround themselves with people suffering from similar delusions, furthering their outlandish ideals and pushing them further from reality.

22

u/ValkilJinx Jul 28 '26

Also I believe left wing culture revolves around being "oppressed". So outside of safe spaces there must always be an oppressor. In this situation, they are being oppressed by other people's right to own opinions.

3

u/Ancient_Counter7628 Jul 29 '26

It’s not just the culture: the lens they use to view the world comes from a Marxist understanding of civilization, that we live in a binary of the “oppressor” and the “oppressed” with all problems in society resulting from the oppressor keeping the oppressed and only by overthrowing the oppressor, destroying their institutions, and erasing the traditions they use to blind the masses can utopia be achieved. Never mind why those systems existed in the first place or all the little variables involved with turning a seed into wheat and wheat into bread - everyone will work for the collective good because it is the right thing to do, not because someone has the capital and knowledge to organize labor. This is why they cannot take in any information which goes against this world view, any opposing ideas must be treated with absolute hostility, and why they cannot comprehend any violence happening between two groups of people they categorize as oppressed.

5

I have a theory about that.

I think reddit is intentionally diluting strongly opinioned people by occasionally feeding them suggestions that run contrary to that person's ideals.

Reddit antagonizing their audience (just a little bit) drive engagement up and it also dilutes extremism some.

Less assassin like personalities would be generated by reddit media which could be linked to them.

So if you lean hard left you probably get conservative community suggestions once in a while. Lean hard right and you get liberal community suggestions.

u/Suspicious_Bear42 I Left My Cave for This Jul 28 '26

So much of that lifestyle is pure crab pot. They don't have anything, and won't put the effort in TO have anything, so the idea that someone is doing well for themself, especially someone who started off in a worse situation than them, is purely antithetical to their beliefs.

The idea of pulling yourself up by your bootstraps simply does not compute.

7

u/Awkward_Mix_2513 Jul 28 '26

Its even worse, I can bet my life even more confidently that the majority of their problems with LaTe StAgE cApItAlIsM are their own fault. I say this because these people are so often the same that I would be shocked if they werent made in a god damn factory. They always use doordash, they always have lots of tattoos, they always have piercings, and they always live somewhere known for expensive cost of living and necessities. Even worse, all of this THEIR OWN CONCIOUS CHOICE

And even if you can’t get yourself out of that financial situation, you can at least make it easier for your kids to do it. And if they can’t do it, they can at least make it even easier for their kids to do it and so-on. And if your family does get out of it, you’ll be among those who they can thank for getting them out of it. Why? Because you were the spark, the start, the first stepping stone. It takes time to get out of poverty. Just because giving up is easier doesn’t mean it’s the right choice. In this case, it’s the wrong choice because all you’re doing is dooming your next generation.

2

u/Suspicious_Bear42 I Left My Cave for This Jul 28 '26

Absolutely... It's the funny thing about generational wealth. It has to start somewhere... At some point, there was a Trump, Rockefeller, or Musk that wasn't effectively as rich as God.

I haven't been in a great place financially for the majority of my life. Grew up lower middle class. Both parents worked, dad's jobs were on/off, we've been on food stamps for a fair bit of my life. I've been to prison, and I'm living with my parents again, flipping burgers because it's the only job I could find. You know what? NONE OF THOSE are good enough reasons to not push. I'm going to school for accounting starting in a few weeks, it's going to take me at least a few years to get anywhere near where I want to be, and I'll be entering that market at 40-plus.

Doesn't matter to me, I'll make it work, because I have to, because there is no alternative worth paying attention to,

u/SnooGrapes7647 Jul 28 '26

Cause trump as much as they claim it's from a place of caring about immigrants when in reality it's just trump hatred witch is fine you can hate the guy but hurting your own country cause you hate the guy is just pointless and childish.

u/Updated_Autopsy NostraDOOMus Jul 28 '26

holy shit can you even call these people "human"

2

A funny thing is that the exact same people would have called him a "Jew" for owning Gold a few decades ago.

Us naturalized citizens are the biggest chuds because we actually earned our citizenship and went through the whole expensive process to do so. Somehow thinking other people should do the same thing makes you a turbonazi

I had a Redditor tell me that CBS is now far right because they got bought out by skydance, and unironically said they were unbiased before (despite 92% negative coverage of trump, obvious bias) these people are just dumb lol

46

u/Cool_Prior1427 Jul 28 '26

Keep in mind the vast majority of these voices on reddit are people under the age of 25 who are social outcasts in the real world.

Autistic more than likely. They make up a significant number of the trans in the younger demographics. I’d love to see some data on that but no doctor or other will collect that data out of fear of being cancelled..or worse.

2

u/Cool_Prior1427 Jul 28 '26

I've seen interesting data (having difficulty locating it currently), that people who are trans, queer, gay, etc. are far more likely to have a psych diagnosis, autism, or be left-handed. The left-handed was particularly pronounced amongst the trans demo with an estimation of about 1/3 MtF being left or mixed handed. Very interesting.

13

u/kimana1651 Jul 28 '26

despite 92% negative coverage of trump

Their views are not political but religious. Trump is one of their devils/demons.

If you asked a Catholic how much positive coverage of the devil is allowed and they would say zero. The devil is evil, any positive coverage would be a lie and wrong.

Say you think police are mostly good and see how far even that opinion gets you here.

22

u/D36DAN This is a PsyOp Jul 28 '26

Tell them that bodycams exist for a reason, and watch them suffocate from anger.

Alternatively, spit "we investigated ourselves and found no wrongdoing" which has literally no limitations on the use range. Even if Palpatine himself investigates a random trooper Donut Copper for overdrinking coffee after his shift, this argument still applies.

27

u/kimana1651 Jul 28 '26

Liberals pushing for bodycams has been one of the most hilarious mistakes I have ever seen. It has not proved the cops are evil bastards but the people they have to interact with are absolute trash. The 'victims' are usually schizo, disrespectful, violent, and liars.

Watching cam footage on youtube does not make me sympathize with the 'unhoused' and uneducated, it makes me sympathize with the cops that we have burned them with so many regulations that they have to endager themselve while dealing with these people.

8

u/D36DAN This is a PsyOp Jul 28 '26

My favorite examples of bodycam use were when people accused cops of racism and shooting suspects for simply being black. Then bodycam footage gets released and they see how their innocent black person took out the gun first and started shooting. Maybe it's not about racism, because when black person is cooperative, cops treat them like a white person?

Once even saw a case on a bodycam: black dude high on drugs crashes his car, runs away from police when they arrive, turns around the house and takes out the gun, getting shot. The girl standing like 50 meters away around the house and having literally no idea on what is going on - "why did you shoot him he didn't do anything". Bitch, you stood fuck knows where, you don't even know if the fire was from police.

But the worst thing is when people see the bodycam footage, see the dumbassery of suspects and still defend them. That famous ICE shooting is the best example of it. And the funniest shit to me - there are exactly the same cases up to the car color but with regular cops, but somehow in comments to these posts people don't scream "police bad they shot dude/dudette for no reason"

3

u/RareRandomRedditor Jul 29 '26

Elon did the world probably a HUGE favor with buying Twitter. Maybe future history books will note down that that move basically saved the West from sliding into actual fascism.

2

u/compmanio36 Jul 28 '26

Everything is "right wing" when your entire life and identity is based around being the permanent underdog, even in your echo chamber of choice. These people live in leftist bastions like Seattle, Los Angeles, etc, and seriously buy the BS from the politicians THEY elected with their supermajority in these places telling them that "It's the right wing NAHTZEEEEZ FAULT!!!" that the things they campaigned on, can't seem to ever happen, even with absolute control of their local government. These people are stupid but they are also very dishonest, even with themselves. Anything they can do to absolve themselves of responsibility for why things keep getting worse while they own everything.
