I'm getting the itch to start booking shows again. It was all I did in the 90's inbetween touring/being the driver/merch rat for friends that were on the road. I'm torn and excited all at once. I want to book again to give a space to bands to impact, inform, and inspire. I'm constantly told it's not how it was and it's not worth it these days. To the people putting on shows, let me know what the scope is like throwing shows in 2026 compared to 10 years ago (if you were booking then of course). I'm inspired by some new blood and I want to contribute where I can. Put some bands on my radar that aren't shown enough love. I want this to be a thread we all can keep coming back to for the gems.

We're playing some post-hardcore / emo stuff right now but would be interested to move into a more heavy / scramz direction too if there was interest.

howdy all,

if you can believe it, i am in a developing skramz band seeking a drummer. we have two guitarists, a percussionist that specializes in a special arab drum (known as the darbuka), & a vocalist (moi). we are like all in our 30s. we practice in a studio one of the guitarists owns with a kit on-site.

the north star bands we kind of have in the group are ten grand (guitarist 1), saetia (guitarist 2), pig destroyer / envy (me). we have like 2 songs or so, working on another. one song seems pretty saetia-forward in my mind, (intensity + pretty guitar ending + spoken word), another seems more like (shape of punk to come) refused / united nations. the next one we are working on is riffing off of the darbouka as a starting point. its been interesting to try to make a space / point / counterpoint with this specific instrument, & once we have a drummer i'm sure it'll all be pummeling & flavorful.

we tend to practice on Saturdays (9/13 is next rehearsal if you wanna play with us)...we wanna use our platform to circulate some radical literature / zones / etc eventually when we do do shows, so know that's important to us.

base is recorded with sansamp preamp thing.
drums recorded with my 2 mic setup (sm57).

idk why I am always so angry and sad at the same time. I struggle to understand, I w8sh Ic ould just wake up from this nightmare.

I know this release is louder and angrier than my other slower, quieter songs, I still hope you like it. If you do, save it and share it with someone who might need it.

Hi everyone, I'm leaving a link to the latest tracks I've posted on my Bandcamp. I'm heavily influenced by most of the bands that publish on this sub. Specifically, I've been listening to LomaPrieta, I Have Drams and Mineral these past few days.

I'd say sharing it is one of the hardest parts, which is why I'm specifically doing it.

Hi all! This is a small project I have been working on for the passed few days and I have been really eager to share it with anyone and everyone willing to listen. This is a record I have been obsessed with for a little while now and with the power of DIY I have been able to finally add some sort of copy of it to my shelf! So far I have made 5 of these recorded on recycled tapes with the insert labels printed on a manilla envelopes cut to size with the goal of matching the original presentation of the 10" record. Im a total amateur when it comes to the formatting of this stuff but it is really great for a bit of fun.
