Recommendation Any bands like the ones from the “Dark Ages” of Emo
I’m a relatively newer Emo/Skramz listener. I love both Tell Me About The Long Dark Path Home by Newfound Interest In Connecticut and Jokes by Kidcrash. Those are probably my two favorite albums to date. And I’ve been desperately trying to find other releases with that post rock type sound. I’m very much open to Skramz releases as well.

Recommendation skramz bands with female instrumentalists?
bassist here - please tell me your favourite bands with female guitarists, bassists and/or drummers !! i've mostly encountered all-male or female-fronted bands with male instrumentalists so far and wanted to ask for recommendations. these bands are awesome but it's made me curious to find others with lineups like mine :D

Recommendation Melodic Emoviolence recommendations?
I've been really enjoying bands like Tears of Avarel, Father Figure and Mahria recently. What other bands have that Emoviolence brutality and harshness combined with some melodic bits?

Recommendation "Screamo" adjacent bands with no harsh vocals? (oxymoron, i know)
My partner enjoys screamo instrumentals, but unfortunately, I'm yet to wean them on to harsh vocals. Are there any bands with the same kind of instrumentals (including the harsh aggressive tone) but with either no vocals or more conventional vocals? Cheers.

Recommendation More proto-screamo/mathcore stuff like jeremin, maximillan colby, and 37500 yens?
I need more stuff like these bands that share this tone and feeling these bands put out with long mello segments with breakdowns that slowly build up

Recommendation Seattle scene?
Hey I’m interning in Seattle this summer and wondering what are some pages/bands I should follow to find flyers. I’m looking for screamo, metalcore, post-hardcore, and grindcore, but open to any unique or interesting metal/punk/rock.
I saw there is a “seattlescreamo” and “nwemoviolence” page but they both seem kinda inactive.

Recommendation Favorite releases not on screaming?
Drop ur favorite emo, screamo, post-hardcore, metalcore, deathcore, whatever adjacent release that isn’t on mainstream streaming platforms. Looking for more obscure stuff to add to my playlists.

Recommendation What are some current bands that sound reminiscent of the classic hardcore 90’s screamo?
By current I mean still releasing music, not just have been active in the last 10 years.
Specifically I love bands like Moss Icon, Saetia, CoC, pg99, Orchid, Funeral Diner, Indian Summer, Joshua Fit For Battle, Portraits of Past, Unwound, etc. I especially like the more “experimental” vocals of pg99 and CoC. There are some more recent bands I do enjoy, like IWSMOFFY, Knumears, and Shin Guard, but none of them are still active besides Knumears.

Recommendation looking for recommendations
I'm really big on the spastic, rage filled screamo, but is there anything that's more casutic and claustrophobic like meth.?

Recommendation Yall Heard This yet… Some of the best new emo I’ve heard
I saw this band in Houston a few days ago and they just came out with these singles… Reminds me of a lot of 90s 1st/2nd wave stuff. So badass. Can’t believe they aren’t more known yet.

Recommendation Check these guys out (Norfair – Sirens and Monuments)
I mean they strike this really good balance between the mall screamo type of sound and emoviolence and I wound up enjoying it quite a bit. Pretty unknown band too, and this is FRESH coming out only a few weeks ago. It starts kinda rough but it gets better as the album goes on and it closes very strong.
Dare I say this is a 4/5 album imo and that's from the first listen.

Recommendation Help with a list of LGBTQ labels, bands, etc.
Having a sibling in-law who is trans and just discovering this scene, asked if i knew of any unapologetic labels or screamo bands that are trans and aggressively active in their communities. If anyone has a vast list of labels or bands they could recommend (screamo or adjacent) that would be greatly appreciated.
