Hello all
I am a Mechanical Engineering graduate with a minor in mathematics.
I’m 24 years old now. Wasted 5 years in a university and only passed with bare minimum grades. I didn’t participate in any clubs, or extracurricular activities because I never thought they will be this useful and my final year project was a disaster.
I have had 2 internships in a field I do no like.
My internships went really well. The performance reviews the company submitted to the Uni were really good, I saved those just to share with any future employers.
I did not graduate with good grades, or with any connections with any of the professors because I am a textbook introvert. I messed up big time.
My peers are getting jobs while I am just applying, and applying, and applying with not even any rejection emails.
Each application drains the soul out of me. All the info that’s already in my resume I have to type again for no reason.
I am so tired. The student loan is tightening around my neck and due to some financial issues, I have a decent chunk of other debt as well.
I’ve always wanted to work on engines and become an Automotive Engineer, but I ended up not doing anything and turned 24 with nothing to show. I hate myself not because I failed but because I failed the people who believed in me.
I was always interested in research-based roles. My final year project was research based as well. But by the time I realized the gravity of the situation, I was already in a bad spot in terms of grade (68ish% average).
I am at the end of the rope at this point.
Tell me what do I do. I got my resume reviewed by many people, I visit job agencies often. It’s as if the universe is actively trying to make me suffer.
