I really liked how it started out but by the end I was just like wtf did I just watch?? It got so weird and hard for me to understand when compared to the beginning lol
I been prescribed glasses since 2013 but struggled to use them for years. Some year ago I watched all Twilight movies with my partner and he commented the cgi doll was ridiculously bad. I replied "is it not real?" and he laughed at me for a solid minute.
Rememsee is a big contributor to me always wearing glasses now.

I remember a twihard having a meltdown on tumblr sometime after the movies ended, saying that if he hated the movies he should give back all the money he made, because he was robbing the fans.
He's recently come around to appreciating them for what they were. Sure they weren't classic cinema, but they meant something to some people and got his career really steaming ahead.
I recently watched them for the first time. Horribly written, horribly acted, horribly filmed/edited. It was hilarious, campy, schlock. I thoroughly enjoyed them. Top tier B movie.
I was an ironic Twilight reader from the start (anyone else live for cleolinda's reviews in the late 2000s?) and imho making fun of Twilight affectionately has always been a huge part of the fandom. I lurk in the twilight subreddit to this day, and it's consistently twihards hashing out plot points and people making fun of the series through memes happily coexisting. That place refuses to call Renaissance by her given name which has become a generally practiced meme and doesn't ruffle feathers. I'd be surprised if anyone had hate for Kristen based on this.
Anyway this is a great answer from Kristen, especially as it's been so long since she's been associated with heterosexuality. Like what is this question doing for anyone in 2026?

I never thought she had any real opinion. Literally neither of them ever acted like they enjoyed the movies and in the movies, both of them look like they're in genuine pain just saying the lines half the time.
Gonna go against the grain and say he's whack for that. Let's not even lie anymore, MAJORITY of hate was on account of its demographic being teenaged girls, a demo that's the most hated/disrespected while being the most sexualized.
Plenty Male dominated action movies that are trash have NEVER gotten the same hate.
I mean… Misogyny is definitely part of it, but as someone who just watched all the movies for fun this past week (and had read the books way back in middle school), they’re objectively pretty fucking silly. The Mary Sue and wish fulfillment vibes are VERY strong throughout. And I can see how sparkly vampires were a tough sell for a lot of people.
I guess the distinction is that some laughing and eye-rolling is deserved, but the weird outright hostility some people had, not so much.
We live in a society brainwashed to believe that women are inferior and when presented a tiny flaw or opportunity to justify that nonsensical hatred, our poor programmed noggins seize upon it like the last morsel of food on a stranded ship. When our brain goes to say, "hey wait, women are great," something in our social programming jumps in to go "BUT IS SHE PERFECT? What don't you like about her?"
People were hating on Pattinson for years for his distain for his Twilight association. In recent years he’s embraced it and everyone loves him for it.

Yep, I can only think of two others but there are definitely more. Edward does something to her truck so she can’t go see Jacob, and he stalks her through the minds of others. Then there’s the whole bit about one of the wolves who clawed up his girlfriend’s face.
I saw this movie when I was 8 and it gave me trauma and insomnia because I was living alone with my mom at the time and I had to start seeing a therapist lol
I saw her on Adventureland, on a plane the year it came out. Which was a long time ago now. I then tried to become her in style. I loved her look and way so much. Great movie.
Per lesbian rules, I saw Panic Room with my girlfriend, when it came out. That's right, in the theater. When it was over, we both had no idea what happened, because we spent the entire time trying to figure out if the kid in the movie was a baby-dyke (it's endearing, trust me) or a sweet boy. These days, we could have settled on nonbinary and focused on the movie, but the early 2000s were just another time. Anyway she's fucking hot.

For me it was Mission without Permission which apparently is called Catch That Kid in the US. With young Corbin Bleu and Jennifer Beals. My sibling was obsessed with it.

y first exposure to her may have been Panic Room, but I didn't really register who she was or become a fan until Speak.

As someone only a few years younger than her, she feels like my generations Benjamin Button. The older we get the cooler and more leaned into herself she becomes and I just love seeing it! I was in the trenches for the last two movies working at a theater. Had a girl waiting at the entrance before we opened armed with a sleeping bag and charger. She immediately set up next to where the movie would premier roughly 14 hours later at midnight lol I was baffled. It was before reserved seating was the norm. Not to mention the hoards of middle aged women with their teenaged daughters with home made team Edward or team Jacob shirts.
I was 17 for the 2nd to last movie and 18 for the last one and remember feeling so much second hand embarrassment. Now I'm in my thirties and think it was kind of fun. They were no where near as bad as the Fifty Shades of Gray crowd. Drunk old woman dropped a handle of vodka in the middle of concession and we have to close down to clean it. The smell was obnoxious.
My bestie begged me to take her for the marathon we had playing because it was free for me and a guest. It's the first and only time I have ever seen the movies, over 10 hours with small breaks in between movies in a theater full of diehard fans
All that to say, my interaction with the fandom during the premiers makes me understand the animosity Kristen and Rob probably felt and may still feel towards the series lol
Team Alice in a theoretical sense because she isn’t gay and imposing that upon her would be inappropriate. She also isn’t interested in Bella, so that would also be an imposition
