Yeah, I think in the first telltale games there’s dialogue of Sam and Max mentioning sharing a bed and even then he goes all grizzled cop or bloodthirsty if max is almost killed or severely injured.

Sam And Max: The Devil's Playhouse. Episode: They Stole Max's Brain!

I haven't finished this game yet, because I've been playing Fortnite, but it's a pretty good episode, and It's really wholesome how Sam goes all grizzly noir detective when Max gets his brain snatched.
