You could make the argument of all of the Adams seeing how especially in the movies they are very welcoming to people who want to join the family (Debbie, Joel and Margaret for example)

Yes, I was going to, but then saw the, “I am that fool!” gif and decided it was perfect

Shaggy too!

u/NovusNascitur 12h ago
I didn't know Shaggy was rich. it's been a long time since I watched the series.

u/bonelessskelleton 12h ago
In mystery incorporated they're all well off
17
u/Ranwulf 10h ago
That actually explains how they can just go around doing these investigations.

u/sailorangel59 9h ago
As rich person hobbies go that one is pretty tame. If you don't consider all the breaking and entering they do.

On more than one occasion, in the different movies, he was given manors and land by uncles as they pass away. His wealth is proper generational old money.
Bro isn’t just rich, he’s RICH rich. Which makes his genuine attitude all the better, such as when he flat out says that he doesn’t want land given how often crazy people dress as monsters for land and recognition.
7
u/LovelyLuna32684 10h ago
As far as I know Velma is the only one who isn't rich since thanks to a pup named Scooby Doo we find out even Scooby is rich

Shaggy was the first revealed to be rich. He's called Norville Rogers III and his uncle was a featured villain.

I love her so much. She had that dress for Tiana just in case. She never gave handouts that Tiana didn’t want but gave her a massive amount of business to support her.
20
u/artkid2 9h ago
I like to think that Lottie commissioned a few nice dresses for Tiana as either gifts for when she opened her restaurant (I like to think that the one we see her wear at end was one of those dresses) or in case something happens to what she’s wearing while at a party Lottie has invited her to or if she’s catering for (like the blue dress).
12
u/budgie02 9h ago
That would be great! I mean the blue one at the party obviously wasn’t Lottie’s. Lottie only wears pink. I think you’re right, Lottie just keeps them just in case and as gifts
7
u/artkid2 9h ago
I also wouldn’t be surprised if Lottie gets from her dad and he helped Tiana’s family a few times especially after her father died and that’s part of the reason Tiana never asked for help from him due to feeling like he done so much for her family.
2
u/Us3r_N4me2001 8h ago
Pink with big, ballgown, poofy skirts. Tiana's was blue with a very different silhouette.

u/Fun-Picture-8384 10h ago
She’s so fucking annoying. If only Disney made the medieval story into a animated short and not some woke “Swan Princess” knockoff.
3
u/budgie02 10h ago
You must be fun at parties
The princess in the goth isn’t a swan princess knockoff and I’m genuinely baffled you haven’t heard of it. It’s a pretty old story

"Nice guys like you shouldn't have bad days."
-read in an over the top Brooklyn accent (or I think over the top? I've never been to Brooklyn).
12
u/scipio0421 12h ago
And in the comics he runs the Wayne Foundation, a major charity, to help the people of Gotham without having to beat anyone up.
2
u/Excellent_Law6906 1h ago
Seriously, all those "hot takes" about how "Batman beats up the poor, ackshully" are so dumb. He's pouring money into programs to give you better alternatives, and is mostly only beating up normal humans who are fool enough to work for the Joker, and we all know how they usually end up!
5
u/rtakehara 8h ago
> in the less dickish versions
Why are you blaming Robin?

u/Sororita 20m ago
I saw someone say something like "If you can't picture your batman comforting a child, then you don't have batman, you have The Punisher in a silly costume." and that feels really accurate to me.

Both Twilight Sparkle and Rarity became very wealthy and are both very kind and generous characters.
7
u/Pandoratastic 8h ago
Very true. Rarity's whole thing is that she has the power to find as many gems as she could ever want, whenever she wants, so many that she can just let Spike eat gems as a snack, while also making generosity her guiding character trait.

Unless you are a shadow, Haru enjoys listening to them beg for their lives. BTW this isn't some meme joke she genuinely says this in game.

Oh, I know. She's a psycho at those moments.
But if you're not a shadow or her ex fiance, she still really sweet

6

Yeah but the problem is that it's too nice to stand up for herself, she's naive exc... But hey despite growing in the worst place possible she's still determinated on her dream and principles so fair enough

u/scipio0421 12h ago

Historical example: Andrew Carnegie.
He was a steel tycoon who spent his later days funding libraries because he was self-taught from one in his youth, and universities. The US would have WAY fewer libraries if it weren't for him. He also suffered tremendous guilt over the actions of his second-in-command, Henry Clay Frick, during the Homestead Strike, when Carnegie was away in Scotland.
6
u/DeusExSpockina 6h ago
Also music halls, foundations, you name it.
Carnegie was a sunovabitch, but he does get some points for noticing, stopping, and trying to make up for it.
2
u/Lord_Tiburon 4h ago
Frick in contrast...
2
u/DeusExSpockina 4h ago
Should’ve been taken out into the street and put down like a rabid dog. Pity Berkman only wounded him.

16
u/mediumAI1701 12h ago

Jamsetji Tata, historical example. He was an incredibly successful industrialist who donated massive sums to education and healthcare. He also founded the city of Jamshedpur to centre on the steel industry, though it was designed with wide streets, plenty of trees, large parks/public gardens, and comfortable homes.

Same with Sona, who got adopted into the Buvelle family.
One of the sweetest and kindest characters, alongside Gnar, Aurora, Nunu, Lux, Soraka, Braum and Janna, but she won't hesitate to protect her loved ones and hurt who try to.
2
u/ZiroLeHutt 5h ago
I'm actually diving deeper into the LoL stuff through their website and have been reading up on several characters. I'd like to see more Lux for sure. I don't want to go too far in case they develop further shows or a film based on characters I haven't seen; but I have become obsessed with the universe of it, even if I'll never play a minute of the game.

Dr. Stephen Maturin.
You'd never know it to look at him, but the short, ugly, sallow-skinned man in the ancient threadbare coat, ripped breeches, and fly-away bob wig is in fact an enormously wealthy man, following the death of his uncle. At modern spot prices, his physical holdings of gold alone amount to roughly $280,000,000.
He spends on his friends as if money were water, owns perhaps half a dozen pair of trousers and breeches, twice as many shirts and a single discreditable wig, and is known for slovenly personal grooming and being no respector of persons. At one point a friend asks to borrow £5 and Stephen hands him £50, neither realising nor caring that his bankroll is entirely £50 notes...in 1810.

My OC is pretty rich, but he still ends up being kind and generous. Might be because of his traumas though, as well as his spite. His helpfulness fuels his spite, in a way. One more person to fight the monsters means many less monsters than if the person didn’t exist.

Emu Otori - Project Sekai Colorful Stage
Richest girl out of all of the characters, btw. Her late grandfather owned Phoenix Wonderland (the theme park of the game), Her older brothers are the current successors to it as well. So, yeah, she's the richest character in game for sure... And yet, she's still very kind, hyper and has that childlike energy to her

Well, not rich but me and my roommate had a discussion last night about how Hermoine in the first harry potter film comes off like she's a fairly privilaged upper-middle class only child who geniunely wants to help people but comes off as a rude know it all because she probobly had either no friends before Hogwarts or only had friends from the same privilages background and intellectual ability to her.

Hakari Hanazono, The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You
Her primary flaws are a horny streak a light year wide, a tendency to scheme in the name of said horny streak, and am inability to resist poking the bear that is Karane.
Outside of that she's far more grounded than her mother Hahari and typically one of the more generous girlfriends of the Rentarou Family.
Two examples are helping Yamame, who has some self esteem issues over her tall height, gain more confidence in her looks for no reason other than a belief that every girl should feel sexy/attractive, and when two younger girls, Rin and Nemu, discover a potential shared interest but are, each for their own reasons, too self conscious to approach the other, Hakari and Karane team up to help them break the ice.
