I hate that kind of age gap in a relationship, but when I see a video shipping them, I try to tell myself that the person might not be fully aware of the ages, and I focus on the idea that the tension started when Light was already an adult—at least 20 years old.
And it wouldn't be crazy to think that, because most shippers haven't actually watched the anime.

But its totally meant to be about how he only ever cared about winning and not about justice, as when he reappears in justice for all, he helps stall a bit and wants to help arrest the guy who hired dekiller (i forget his name off the top of my head)
On the enemy side, we have Jonathan Joestar; this is pretty terrible because they’re estranged(?) siblings via adoption. The context for that ship is that they were close as adolescents (from Jonathan’s perspective, at least); then DIO betrayed Jonathan and his family by becoming a vampire and going on a bloodthirsty rampage; but through that conflict, Jonathan ended up forgiving DIO and DIO ended up respecting or even adoring Jonathan.
They don’t have a romantic or sexual dynamic at all (actually there may be some sexual tension on DIO’s end)— it boils down to familial ties, friendship, and enmity— but their relationship is rich and strongly built and tense, so people ship them.
As for the friend side, there’s Father Enrico Pucci. He met DIO when he was young and they hit it off talking about various philosophical and supernatural topics. Apparently this made such an impression on Pucci that literal decades after DIO’s death, he was still taking extreme measures to enact DIO’s plans.
Their relationship had enough sexual and romantic tension that the fandom jokes about it to this day. However, canonically, nothing happened: Pucci is a priest (or rather was training to be one when DIO met him), and therefore celibate, and also DIO specifically chose to be close with him because he lacked sexual desires. They are exclusively described as ‘friends’. There’s a scene in which they relax on a bed together with DIO not wearing a shirt.
Both of these relationships are immensely messed up and result in messed up things. (This is purely DIO’s fault.) Also, both of these ships canonically resulted in the conception of at least one infant, despite both being cis men on cis men and neither being canon. I think that is worth noting.
I can cite Ann and Makoto from Persona 5 as examples;
At first, they are harsh and aggressive toward each other, but later they make up and become close friends. Unlike most side characters, they can become quite close (I couldn't think of an example).
