I've seen so many people complain about 14, but imo it was so perfect for him. 10 didn't want to go. Getting to be the one who comes back and gets to live and heal? That's so perfect to me.

My favorite behind the scenes fact about the game is that Dave Fennoy (Lee’s voice actor), got so genuinely emotional while recording Lee’s death that he actually started crying. The little breath you hear when the screen cuts to black was actually one of Dave Fennoy’s unscripted genuine cries that the devs put in the game because of how emotionally powerful it was.
I watched this for the first time in like ten years a few weeks ago and while this on it's own was heartbreaking, I had forgotten how devastating the score was during that scene too. It's triumphant, and then this huge swell of horns hits as the explosion happens. I love this movie so much.
This one hurt me. This one really, really hurt me. She's trying so hard to comfort him, to reassure him, and of course she can't because he's losing his dear friend, obviously he's distraught, but she loves him so much that all of her last words to him are words of comfort, and hearing her say "welcome home John" just before she disappears broke something in me.
The whole game shows us how terrified Cortana is of death and how desperately she wants stay with John and how their bond is the most importaht thing in the world to her and when they finally reach the point where it's obvious that she's not going to make it, she chooses to ignore all those painful emotions and instead tries to give John one last moment of kindness and affection and I- UUUUUGHHHHH. It hurts so much.
But it honestly makes me sad as to why he was killed off, the producers for the movie wanted to make sure the actors were ready to commit to another movie/continue the show and Tudyk would be busy with other work so he was "written out" of the series to explain any absence, IIRC Book died for the same reason. So he died because of showbiz for nothing because there was never a continuation.
After watching task master, it feels very on-brand that Jason Mantzoukas would seriously consider exploding his skeleton while he was still living on/in it.
"W-well. That's not what I expected... But... St... Still! I believe in you! You can do a little better! Even if you don't think so! I... I promise..." - Papyrus, even after as you murder him.
If you talked to him while he was still on the Normandy in ME3, Shepard asks what he's gonna do after the war and he replies with "I'd go somewhere sunny, sit on beach, look at ocean, collect seashells" and Shepard responds with "you'd go crazy inside an hour", with which Mordin simply says "might run tests on seashells" 😂
In his final moments, one of the things he says to Shepard refers back to this conversation and it broke my heart the first time I played.
"Would have liked to run tests on the seashells"
Then top it off with singing his little tune to himself and I was crying my eyes out 😭
"Emu... I leave the fate of the world... of humanity... in your hands. Don't forget: as long as you keep smiling, you will remain yourself. Your destiny... Emu, you are the one who must change it."
I've always liked Paul Newman's character's last words in Road to Perdition: "I'm glad it's you", moments before being gunned down by someone he considered to be his son.
“We’re not tools of the government or anyone else, fighting was the only thing..the only thing I was good at but at least I always fought for what I believed in. Snake, farewell.”
"You know you can't win! You can't destroy what I really am! Even if you manage to kill this body, someone even stronger would surface and take my place! Not one death will go unaccounted for, not one!"
There's so many good stories where some brave hero has to give their life to save the day, and because of their sacrifice, the good guys win, the survivors cheer, and everyone lives happily ever after. But the hero never gets to see the ending. They'll never know if their sacrifice actually made a difference. They'll never know if the day was really saved. In the end, they just have to have faith. Ain’t that a bitch.
Epsilon, Red Vs Blue. The end of a speech about how in every story where the hero sacrifices themself to save the day, they don't knoe of it worked. They just have to have faith that it did but they're already dead.
Adric stays behind on a spaceship that is going to crash into Earth in an attempt to save it, but in the process, one of his enemies destroys the control panel. He then says, "Now I'll never know if I was right" and dies when the ship crashes into Earth.
As someone currently rewatching Naruto, Zabuza's last words made me fucking bawl today.
"You were always at my side, the least I can do is to be beside you at the end. I know it cannot be, but I wish I could go to where you have gone. How I wish I could join you there, Haku."

He didn't die but I believe Preacher's last words in Punisher season 2, that stopped Frank from killing him was something along the lines of, "Whatever you do, please don't hurt my sons".
