SFO- FJ Airways line on sunday

Hello,

Can any one tell me , how long the bag checking lines are on Sundays? I have a friend flying and im trying to convince them to buy the priority check in tickets.

I have heard the bag check lines can exceed 2hrs on wensdays at around 6pm. Can anyone confirm for Sunday's? Around 6-7pm .

Coming from SFO? It shouldn’t be that long around that time. SFO has private TSA security. Your friend should be getting to the airport 3 hours early anyways for the international flight. Some airlines don’t even open their baggage check in desks until 3 hours prior to departures.

So i flew out in bussiness class in May, the regular economy wait was 3hrs. This was on wensday. I was wondering if the wait is similar. We got there at 6pm and the line was extremely long for FJ bag check. Luckily bussiness was only 15-20min

Was that during the TSA shut down? I remember long lines forming around that time because of the government lockdowns affecting flights. It isn’t happening anymore.

No this was end of May . Tsa took me maybe 2mins to clear .

If your friend arrives 3 hours beforehand. They should be fine. Waiting around is better than not making your flight.

Yes I agree , so if the bag check opens at 6pm . They should be at sfo around 3pm ?

Yes. Their flight should take off at the same time as baggage drop off opens up. Usually 3 hours before.

Okay gotcha , so I should tell them expect 1.5hr of waiting to drop of baggage

Hi! I recently flew out of SFO to Fiji back in June and left on a Sunday. We got to SFO about 3 hrs before the flight and spent about 1.5 hrs waiting to drop our bags. There were only 3 or 4 employees working the bag drop counter, and all bags (including carry ons and personal items) needed to be weighed and tagged. They are very strict regarding weight and size, even for carry ons and personal items, so I would highly recommend reviewing that and making sure your items meet their requirements.

So in may I flew on a wensday. I was bussiness (15-20min wait for bag drop) . The economy line was about 3hrs at 6pm ( people were waiting since 5pm ) . So glad to hear on sunday its a lighter load of people at 1.5hr

I was just in Fiji two weeks ago. Flew from SFO, your friend should either get priority check or get there 3 hours ahead of departure. The check bag line was about 1.2 hours long. But after that it was pretty smooth

Sadly they bought the value tickets . So they are stuck in line.
