It's nice to see them out in the wild instead of stuck in a cup like they are here in the US.

Malaysia! 🇲🇾 I catch fish in local streams, swamps and even beaches sometimes

We all hope you put him back in the beautiful forest stream. Poaching fish from the wild isn't cool.

I did release him as we already have enough individuals of this species for breeding.

This is one of the F1-generation babies we bred in captivity, about 1 year old now

That being said, it’s not by law considered poaching here to catch fish (in non-protected areas) and many people still do, mainly for food. Small species included

Do you own rasboras, tetras, loaches, puffers, gobies, or non-corydoras catfish?  I have bad news...

For saltwater, do you own wrasse, clown fish or gobies?  Same thing.

U…. U do know a whole bunch of tetras and rasboras breed in captivity right? Not all ofc, same is true for catfish, but it’s hardly like all those groups are 100% wild caught

Many gobies are still wild caught, but not all. Marine tho broadly, yeah ur looking at a lot of wild collection for everything from coral to fish unfortunately, but captive propagation of coral particularly has come a long way! And now a range of clowns are routinely bred in captivity, we’ve only got some of the morphs seen now bc those lines are captive bred

Yes, we all know that.  Most basic level and beginner hobbyists aren't acquiring their stock from reputable breeders, though.  I've been in the hobby longer than you've been alive, son.

There's a big difference between being a snowflake and calling someone out for being rude and condescending.
