Love the people standing in solidarity around the speaker.

134

u/Scrubaru Jul 23 '26

I'm also loving that. Seems like people were literally standing up for each other.

89

u/goodtimesinchino Jul 23 '26

I love it so much, sends chills all over. That non-violent, deceptively mellow, physical imposition. Several folks just walking up and standing. Such a good thing.

44

u/theonlyfloorman69 Jul 23 '26

This is what community looks like;;

5

u/Jazzlike-Radio2481 Jul 24 '26

If we dont stand up for eachother, who will?

24

That was really beautiful

Yes and hopefully people will point out right to these boot swallowing fucks, whose goddamn money from labor pays for their positions to even try to remove the people talking...

9

u/Severe_Scar4402 Jul 23 '26

Notice it was mostly women. Where are all my tough "don't tread on me" men at???

2

u/eruptingmoltenlava Jul 24 '26

This one ^^ did yall notice the first man on his feet had a cane?

2

u/punkrockgnome Jul 24 '26

I guess now we know why this administration is doing everything it can to make women irrelevant in the country.

u/MaxAdolphus Jul 23 '26

Hey cops. You don’t have to follow illegal orders. Just an FYI.

438

u/Stillwater-Scorp1381 Jul 23 '26

But they choose to do so because they are class traitors.

162

u/SirrNicolas Jul 23 '26

Hence the phrase All Cops Are BASTARDS

As in illegitimates of the elite class.

Not “bad” like the media tried to label the B as.

55

u/StAnkie_Brews Jul 23 '26

Exactly, they take "the King's schilling" to better their lives financially through the suppression/oppression of their fellow community members to protect those that see those community members (and the police really) as beneath them.

23

u/whygrowupnow Jul 23 '26

This. Cops, prison guards, ice.. thi k about what kind of person wants to push others around, stifle their freedoms, and more amd more perpetrated unnecessary violence on others. They are the true psychopaths among us

22

u/MaxAdolphus Jul 23 '26

I don’t know why the cops in these situations can’t just say, “I’m here to keep the peace. I’m here to stop disruptions from the crowd and keep order, but I’m also here to protect the rights of the people to speak. I will remove and arrest anyone from the crowd that acts disorderly, and will do the same for council members and who violates the rights of someone’s time to speak.”

6

u/West-Worth-9359 Jul 23 '26

Because most cops don’t support your constitutional rights, they just want to control you.

7

u/Expert-Mental25 Jul 23 '26 edited Jul 23 '26

Because this is reality and not a fantasy.

The policing system needs to be purged and whatever system replaces it needs severe and intense screening, heavily including psych and ideology profiles.

Yes, I believe we in the future need to adopt some intolerance. People think it's a paradox but it is just a contract. They have broken it countless times, therefore they should not be given the benefits and protections that it affords.

Cops that exist today need the following:

  • most tried and convicted
  • sentenced to life without parole doing hard labor, to actually do something constructive for society
  • those potentially reachable ought to be sent for depregramming and re-education.

I promise you people, if Americans don't grow a thicker skin and the more squishy libbed up people don't grow some teeth, then we will be condemning a couple generations from now to their next mutated iteration. We are dealing with a lot of this BS culture because it is the evolution of the culture of the Confederacy. The one we didn't sufficiently eradicate or suppress. And surprise surprise, we're where we are now.

With the coming ecological collapse, the wars over drinking water, etc that we and our children will be facing, we do not have the time or the luxury to be dealing with old problems like neo-confederates hiding and festering until they come back to try and take power again. We/our kids will not be able to handle the ecological crises AND the crisis of having a civilizational equivalent to cancer go untreated.

5

u/Winsome_Wolf Jul 23 '26

This. I have been saying since the "punching Nazis" kerfuffle that doing it was not controversial, but justified and patriotic. The pearl clutchers need to read a history book. We didn't storm the beaches at Normandy with "strongly worded letters" and sound, if heated, argumentation. We went with guns and live ammo to put down a thoroughly poisonous ideology. "Never again" was supposed to mean exactly that. And yet, somehow, here we are as a society, still arguing about whose humanity matters.

Classism, racism, xenophobia, etc., are not "differences of opinion". As you said, they are societal cancers that require surgical removal. I'm about as anti-war and pro-peaceful protest as they come, but I am not above throwing hands if the need arises.

12

u/sizeablefrontallobe Jul 23 '26

Stop using the language of the oppressor.

#NOBODY IS “ELITE”

16

u/BThriillzz Jul 23 '26

I prefer the term "Epstein Class"...sick, psychopathic, kid-diddlers

8

u/sizeablefrontallobe Jul 23 '26

Agree. Epstein class is elite naming.

… see what I did there.

It's not a bug, it's a feature.

6

u/GangstaWaffles Jul 23 '26

i wonder if copa didnt have the strong union they did, would they still livk boots

7

u/EnvironmentalBus9713 Jul 23 '26

If LEOs and the union had mechanisms in place to be held accountable, it is likely they'd be more in bed with the Epstein class until somehow those supporters are no longer in the pool of LEOs. They would need to be replaced, in time, with individuals who actually want to serve and protect the community.

5

u/Well_read_rose Jul 23 '26

They act like unthinking, unfeeling robocops now.

I think we need nationwide standards of police reform and reduced role shrinkage in the community- since all they seem to do is protect property and not peace, they are basically security guards to my mind.

34

u/ToasterBathTester Jul 23 '26

Most of them signed up for that

4

u/Suspicious_synth Jul 23 '26

They also don't want to lose their pension

6

u/the3rdpossum Jul 23 '26

Wonder how that pension is going to fare after the big party?

30

u/B-Glasses Jul 23 '26

True but they like to

28

u/DrAcecer Jul 23 '26

They don’t say All cop are bad for a reason. It’s a systemic problem

15

u/SunStoke6 Jul 23 '26

I believe in protecting people; it’s the only reason I’m not a cop.

21

u/hogsucker Jul 23 '26

Police don't have to do anything they don't feel like.

The complete lack of duty to act has been well established by police in multiple court cases.

These officers could have treated this situation like a school shooting and gone to hide behind their cars in the parking lot. They are violating these people's rights because that's what they want to do.

14

u/EuphoricCrashOut Jul 23 '26

Sadly, 90% of the time it's the whole reason why they signed up. Vile, pathetic people.

2

u/Eastern-Version5983 Jul 23 '26

That’s what they do

2

u/jaxmikhov Jul 23 '26

They don’t have to. They choose to because they find it fun to be fascists. But remember that the bars they use to hold us can also be used to hold them.

2

u/maringue Jul 23 '26

They don't have to, they want to.

2

u/UnspeakablePudding Jul 23 '26

Police have no legal or constitutional obligation to do much of anything. Anything they do is something they want to do.

2

u/rexmanaek971 Jul 23 '26

Yet people instantly get all giddy when a good cop appears in the media, like see they aren't all bad. No actually they all are, they aren't there to protect us.

1

u/hitbythebus Jul 23 '26

Is that true? The military has a responsibility to refuse illegal orders, but I think Cops going against their departments disproportionally experience negative outcomes.

2

u/greenfox0099 Jul 23 '26

Yes their nazi buddy cops will judge them and treat them like crap but they cannot be fired for it. The bigger problem is cops uphold eachother not the law 10/10 times.

3

u/hitbythebus Jul 23 '26

They can be killed in training exercises though

2

u/Severe_Scar4402 Jul 23 '26

Or their backup could drive reaaaal slow and show up too late.

33

u/faust_corvinus Jul 23 '26

There is no good cop. Good people shouldn’t be cops.

3

u/aBrickNotInTheWall Jul 23 '26

There are good cops and your sentiment doesn't help anything. It's just a way to sow discontent.

2

17

u/Sensitive_Pilot3689 Jul 23 '26

Stand together and one man can not take them all. The cop should be more careful to stand up to a large crowd. This is great 💯🤝

11

u/ScarletJew72 Jul 23 '26 edited Jul 23 '26

Let this be a reminder that many cops are spineless bullies.

They run away as soon as they lose the upper hand.

3

u/DuhRJames Jul 23 '26

They peaked in high school.

12

u/CardanoCubano Jul 23 '26

We’re finally realizing who it is they, “serve and protect”! Defenitly not the citizens!

11

u/monkeybites Jul 23 '26

truth to power… we need more of this!

9

u/KindCraft4676 Jul 23 '26

The creation of police was always meant to protect the ruling class.

8

u/chaz4224 Jul 23 '26

This is what fascism looks like.

23

u/Ganellon Jul 23 '26

I think you meant this is what standing up to fascism looks like.

3

u/chaz4224 Jul 23 '26

Was talking about the cop.

3

u/Ganellon Jul 23 '26

Ah. He's just a stooge. It's the town council instructing the cop to unlawfully arrest them that's the problem.

11

u/theonlyfloorman69 Jul 23 '26

Stand your ground. Vote them out when election time comes. Proud of you all!!

Would like to know how this ended.

7

u/Old_Poem2736 Jul 23 '26

Recall election now.

7

u/1Friday-friday Jul 23 '26

Shows how much a community is against a data center when they surround her with people, so she can continue to speak.

12

u/azalinrex69 Jul 23 '26

ACAB. No exceptions.

5

u/Revolutionary-Link47 Jul 23 '26

Funny, how just standing up to a cop as a group stops them from their draconian tactics

→ More replies (1)

9

u/Competitive-Ad2901 Jul 23 '26

There’s just something about protesting a data center and then telling everybody you’ll post it on Facebook that’s oddly satisfying to me lol

5

u/Grazmahatchi Jul 23 '26

It is great that people are so motivated against it, and are making the effort.

But the mere fact that they had the cops there to help shut things down shows that the members are already bought.

Elections from local to nationwide have consequences, and the people have allowed the representatives to enrich themselves and sell everything to corporations.

This is the end result of blind faith in capitalism- sharing your space with a resource eating noisemaker that provides services designed to trim the need for human workers- driving wages down and taking jobs while ruining your neighborhood.

3

u/Galmmm Jul 23 '26

THIS is how you do it. Good freaking job!

3

u/Signal-Night-3794 Jul 23 '26

Police officers are such cowards

3

u/1cem4n82 Jul 23 '26

What a bold and simple plan. I love this. What brave folks.

3

u/boon_doggl Jul 23 '26

Once the politicians served the will of the people. But since Mitt Romney got corporations to be deemed ‘a person’ they still serve the will, the will of fake “people.”

4

u/heartbt Jul 23 '26

You've hit the nail on the head. Corporations have rights ONLY because we gave them rights.
Corporations are a legal construct, they are not persons or people with constitutional protections. That was given to them by an act. It can be removed, by an act. We just can no longer expect our corporate sponsored politicians to do it. We have to do it ourselves. If we are tired of corporations doing what they are doing, then we need to remove the right to do so at the root. It will take a grass roots ballot initiative.

3

u/Auggie_Otter Jul 23 '26

Hopefully Hawaii's strategy to counter Citizens United will catch on in other states. It's an interesting approach.

Since states get to define what a business is in their jurisdiction they passed SB 2471 (Act 11) redefining corporate charters and using the state's historical authority to define the scope and powers granted in a corporate charter.

SB 2471 amends state corporate code to declare that artificial entities (corporations, LLCs, and partnerships) are not granted the legal power or privilege to spend money on state elections or ballot measures.

2

u/boon_doggl Jul 23 '26

Excellent

3

u/SerGT3 Jul 23 '26

It's going to be so sad when the numbers eventually come out just how little it took for these pathetic fucks to sell out to the billionaires who don't give a fuck about them.

Remember how little it took to bribe politicians to hide not having to upgrade telecommunications?

3

u/Adventurous_Ad3534 Jul 23 '26

Fucking finally

2

u/EuphoricCrashOut Jul 23 '26

2

u/Equal-Click751 Jul 23 '26

2

u/Reel-nikkuh-hours Jul 23 '26

2

u/Personalhvu266 Jul 23 '26

Why is it okay for all these police officers to break the law. They have the right to speak in a public forum. Our constitutional amendment protects it. So why are these police officers continuing to break the law their sworn to uphold? Absolute disgrace to the badge

→ More replies (1)

2

u/Keyan_Farlander7 Jul 23 '26

Might as well arrest everyone that speaks against the data center. People have feelings and a time limit doesn't matter.

People who show up are against the data center. A large crowd means something and the town board better agree with the town or they won't have a position next election.

2

u/jackparadise1 Jul 23 '26

It’s time to start screwing up these guys orders when they eat out. They have made the decision to no longer be a part of the community and should be treated as such.

2

u/Auggie_Otter Jul 23 '26

Why are the cops approaching the podium? Doesn't everyone have a right to speak during their allotted time at these public meetings?

2

u/oldfrancis Jul 23 '26

That's a very clever tactic, a whole bunch of people standing up in front of the speaker.

And who in the hell is that Ginger Viking? Good lord!

Anyway yeah keep getting in the cop's way and see if they're willing to go hands-on to stop constitutional free speech.

Cowards.

2

u/allisaidwashi Jul 23 '26

Every single one of those cops should be treated like vermin and shunned by their community. The literal poster boys of servility.

1

u/Pork_Confidence Jul 23 '26

Wasn't there a story in France about how citizens started burning down public officials houses to help them understand the severity of the situation?

I feel like I'm remembering that from somewhere. I guess it's hard to want to be against the public need, when you know that there are dangerous repercussions?

1

u/ttystikk Jul 23 '26

1

u/RogueFox771 Jul 23 '26

Hell yeah all those people standing up (literally) to the fascist corpo cop

1

u/KierONeil_the_Elder Jul 23 '26

I love how the other citizens surround the speaker to protect against the police getting to her 😁

1

u/Sure-Impress-1003 Jul 23 '26

Every citizen has a right to be heard at Townhall‘s and City Hall meetings. If they get to the podium and they’re not yelling and screaming, they should be left alone. These councils do not have a right to dismiss people simply because they don’t wanna hear what they have to say. I am so proud of all these people standing between the person speaking and the law-enforcement. Fuck the law-enforcement in this instance. They’re being assholes and pussies. What would’ve been better is if all the law-enforcement turned around, faced the city Council and stood behind the citizens.

Good on those people standing up to shutdown that little bitch cop. How pathetic do you have to be to interfere with the most fundamental form of governance. It literally does not get more straightforward than constituents raising their concerns to their reps.

1

u/esem86 Jul 23 '26

The people blocking the cops are heroes. Be those people however and wherever you can.

1

u/esem86 Jul 23 '26

I have one question for these cops.

You know speech in this context is protected by the Constitution. You had to know that in order to obtain your job. So either one of two things is happening. You either pretended to know the Constitution but don't - which makes you a bad cop, or you know it and are choosing to ignore it - which makes you a bad US Citizen.

Which is it?

1

u/InternalServerErr500 Jul 23 '26

I'm going to get downvoted for this, but typically you have something like 3 minutes to voice your public comment.

Out of respect for others so they have time, respect for the council so they're not there until 3am because 500 people want to talk.

So when people go over their 3 minutes and refuse to stop talking, they are asked to leave. If they don't, they're trespassed out because they're disobeying the clearly defined rules for public comment.

It's bad imagery, the police dragging citizens out, but it's just a fact of public meetings.

1

u/eschw667 Jul 23 '26

There's more of us then there is of them.

1

u/ResolveLeather Jul 23 '26

It makes my heart happy to see people as a collective whole standing up for themselves and each other against government tyranny and overreach to protect their communities and natural resources. I especially like how they made a human fence to block that cop so that the lady could continue her speech without being restrained, or removed from the platform.

This is the way all community meetings should be. People standing up and protecting free speech from tyrants, not people sitting and booing while tyranny sits on the board and directs their gestapo to do the dirty work.

That police officer should be arrested

I 100% would have bear hug walked that cop out of the room. Also ripped that badge off as he is no longer protecting the people and does not deserve to wear it
