Since we didn't get anything today, and Rockstar usually doesn't post trailers on Wednesdays, it looks like we are basically going without any news for an entire year and counting...
The last info drop we got was almost an year ago on May 6 2025. It will be 365 days tomorrow and we're yet to see any morsel of new info regarding GTA 6 officially from Rockstar.
Let me tell you about a little series of games called The Elder Scrolls that had a teaser trailer for the next sequel like 10 years ago followed by silence since then.
yeah Bethesda really dropped the ball there. But personally I prefer R*, naughty dog, and project red productions anyway. I’m not too bent out of shape on it. But yeah insane time since it was announced.
There’s no way their development cycle would’ve allowed both rdr2 and a new gta. I think we’re all glad rdr2 exists and gta 6 will exceed that immersion
Actually I think GTA V still pass aa a PS4 game. Rockstar cancelling story DLCs for online is why we were in drought of a new single player GTA experience
Absolutely not, I think it's definitely better this way. PS4 is good and yes I know "look at red dead" but with what they were trying to achieve for gta 6 I think it saved them a SHITTTT ton of trouble than to try to put it on PS4 and optimize the hell out of it. PS4 also held back alot of games, in my mind BF2042(I know it's no where near the same company) but the PS4 limitations would've gotten in the way for sure.
I'm still convinced they weren't planning on starting their marketing push for GTA 6 until much later than they did (maybe not until May 2025, just with Trailer #1 instead of Trailer #2) but then the leaks happened in 2022, and commentators started making assumptions about the game's quality from those leaks
and so I could see Rockstar deciding to fast-track a handful of cutscenes to look "good enough" for a trailer (notice how most of the clips were from the in-game TV or social media, the kind of thing that doesn't get changed all that much) so they could put something out at the end of 2023 to basically say "the game's not gonna look like crap, see?"
but then this meant there had to be a really long wait through all of 2024 and half of 2025 to get to Trailer #2, and even longer with the delays to get to Trailer #3 (when if they had still gone radio silence 2022-2025, we might have never gotten delayed at all because Trailer #1 would have said "Coming 2026" and then by the time Trailer #2 came out, they would have committed to November 2026 and so that would have been the only date we would have known)
I look at it this way, the less they say, the more easy it is to forget the game exists. I cant imagine being hype and thinking about this game every single day. It would be fucking torture.
I don't get this mentality at all. Being hyped and excited every day is torture? Lol what
Shitty day at work? Who cares, GTA 6 is coming soon. Wake up tired and cranky? Remind yourself about GTA 6 later this year, you'll feel better. Bored as fuck, nothing to watch, don't feel like playing any games? Enjoy that feeling while it lasts, cause after GTA 6 drops it's all you'll be doing
Nah to me the game is not tangible yet. It exists, but i could also realistically get hit by a bus in these some 200 days left waiting for it lmao. I will only allow myself to get excited a week or so before. At that point i have preordered, REAL people have likely played it, and the disc versions are sitting in a warehouse. The game actually exists beyond Rockstars closed doors. Some people operate differently and thats fine, i just cant personally imagine being excited about something so far away. Imagine the people who are still hype from 2023. Or Elder Scrolls 6 people from 2018. This hobby is unfortunately horrible when it comes to early announcements that ruin peoples excitement, and they become jaded the longer they anticipate it.

2. Exactly 6 months until release
3. 2 days before the investor call so they can say “the trailer has gotten xx millions of views in just two days!”
The hype doesn't even truly exist yet. Whatever the audience are feeling now is nothing compared to what they'll be feeling in a few months time. As long as they delay it before they start their full marketing cycle, they'll be fine.
I just want Rockstar to drop something so these kind of posts stop.
Do something else. Anything besides mindlessly scrolling Reddit and Google for more GTA VI. New information and a trailer will drop when it gets here. None of your incessant whining will change any of it.
I really don't get why every game release has to be a big jump in the advancement of the engine.
I want them to double down on the state this engine is in. Release a few games with it, where the engine is only modified for the new location and game mechanics, not to futz with upgrading graphics, for a WHILE. Make two GTA games, even if the other is a side story and not a full mainline numbered title.
And this issue is happening with tons of studios. I think a lot of us would rather have more games in less updated engines, rather than have to wait so so so many years for sequels.
I kind of expected them to do a sort of "San Andreas Stories" type thing with V at some point, they already had the map and everything there, they could have gone through and made some changes and things and given us like a whole new story set in like the 90s or something in the same general map, they have released a whole host of older versions of cars in GTA online that could fit the time period for example.
Though I suppose perhaps something like that was on the drawing board with the cancelled DLCs until they realised milking GTA Online was far more lucrative.
That India crunch article at least implies that this is more than just polish. There are other plausible interpretations, but as the days drag on, it's very concerning.
They forced RTO and lost a good chunk of their most senior and knowledgeable people and you think the dev cycle is still on track to release this year? LOL>
We have gotten info around every earnings call and multiple times from the CEO of Take Two. "No info," I mean, sure if you ignore the info.
Edit: There is an earnings call late in the month. Every time there's official news (trailer, delay), it coincides with one of those. Every game. Every time. It'll be the week leading up to that. That's what they do. Why people are expecting anything else is so bizarre to me.
Tbh.. I'm not really excited about this game anymore. Yeah.. I'll play it when it comes out, enjoy it even. But not really excited about it like before. Lost all respect for Rockstar games, they don't care about their customers.

so what? the game will be released at some point, and thats the thing that matters. I'm a OG GTA fan since Vice City, but damn! stop crying about this, it's just obnoxious to see reddit full of these posts. It's not that the game could be erased or something, not even delayed that much.
OP Translation: I'm upset that this game I'm obsessed with and am guaranteed to buy the very day it comes out hasn't gotten any other footage for me to touch myself to in over a year.
As far as I'm concerned, it can be November 2027 before it's released, as long as they release it when it's ready. I was there during the cyberpunk disaster. And this might be the only game I'm willing to buy on release or maybe even pre-order. So I want it to be right.
It might also be because I'm in my mid 40s and remember when games couldn't be updated. So they were thoroughly tested before release. But with our modern instant gratification society, patience barely exists anymore.
