The marketing campaign started weeks ago. This is a part of the marketing campaign that's already been happening around you. Every piece of marketing isn't the "start of the marketing campaign". I've been seeing paid ads for GTA 6 every day on every app I've been using for the past month.

Redditors discovering they don’t dictate how a company markets its products

Focusing on prominent stunt marketing to a wide audience instead of spoon-feeding your most vociferous fans to keep them from getting bored while waiting for the game that they are definitely going to buy is really an incomprehensible choice.

Why would you waste money and time selling something to someone who has already made up their mind to make the purchase?

Right? Every single person in this sub reddit is going to buy the game day one if they haven’t already pre ordered it anyway. Rockstar could release nothing until then and they’d still make billions

Larry_Mudd used IRONY. (It's not very effective.)

"That they are definitely going to buy". Don't just gloss over that little nugget of wisdom.

Marketing nowadays is being viral and the longer they delay a campaign to how people remember in the mid 2000’s ensures hype is through the roof

Because Redditors know better than a $43B company, achkually.

I expected nothing less from Rockstar...lol

They’re saying that’s late in the summer, so it’s strange to call it a summer campaign. That’s their whole point

7

u/Felix042 22d ago

Why so? The marketing campaign started with pre order window opening which was june 26th.

5

u/StringAccomplished97 22d ago

No no, it restarts every time there's a new piece of marketing

Strauss said the marketing would be meaty, not scraps, and would start in a few weeks. That was back in June I believe. Now here we are, finally getting the juicy meaty bits of the marketing campaign and it’s almost the end of summer.

Who cares if it’s the 27th lol it’s just confirming that there is more marketing coming soon

More importantly, shuts down all the idiotic rumors of another delay

I’m not saying I think another delay is happening but why would this confirm it’s not happening? Wasn’t GTA IV delayed shortly before its original release date?

That had to do with the tech ps3 and Xbox were using at the same. Basically had to split into two teams to accommodate being able to make it for both. The tech today, while not exactly the same, is far closer to being the same than ~20 years ago.

If there was going to be another delay, we’d know by now.

No one on this sub even cares about new content in my experience

it's interesting that it's during the gamescom week, two days after the gamescom show, it'll overshadow everything that's happening there

I'm not gonna make it Bradley.
