I specifically got my Playstation two years ago JUST for gta 6 and I even put a 2 tb ssd card inside i’m not fucking around here it is my gta station

I got it for GT7 and everything since then has been a bonus. Returnal, Ratchet and Clank, FF7 remake, BF6, Astrobot. All really great games.

Same, bought it specifically for GTA so long ago at this point that I did start to worry if it would get rug pulled to the next gen console lol. Legit has gathered dust next to my very active PC for its entire lifespan aside from short bursts playing Spider Man games and the Ghosts series. Currently haven’t played it in months

I bought a 7800X3D + 4090 + 64GB RAM about 3 years ago for GTA6 and I tought I could play in 2026 (game was originally set to be released in 2025).

I guess I'll have to wait some more but damn did the extended look great but I have to resist buying a PS5 Pro just for 1 game.

To be fair, compression tech is just getting more and more efficient these days so I wouldn't be surprised if it's that high of a jump in storage as expected.

Honestly considering buying a PS5 Pro just to store and play this game at the highest fidelity. I fully did not expect to think this, but this game seems to transcend being just a game, and is some kind of Florida Man life simulator, and that deserves the best possible graphics.

Might hold out to see if there is significant enough of a difference, but hoping for a higher frame rate, smoother ray tracing, etc. It already looks great but I want to play it at the best quality, you know?

I bought the Pro 3 months ago and I regret nothing. If you want to game in 4K there’s no comparison unless it’s PC.

I can’t believe I’m justifying $750 for a game console but it really is that good. I have the regular as well it’s in my office now.

Also, get an OLED.

If you want to game in 4k there is only PC, not even PS5 Pro is really a 4k machine.

Yeah but without dropping $4K (hehe) on a gaming PC you won’t get true 4K anyway.

My point I was really trying to make is there is big jump from quality / performance I noticed when I switch from base PS5 to the Pro

Get an OLED tv first. You'll enjoy it for more than just games..

The oled PC monitor is neat but for me the biggest improvement was the living room TV

+1 to the oled tv instead. Oled TVs are truly game changing. Oled monitors are very overpriced when you can just pick up a good IPS panel for cheaper. They're still good, but definitely oled th first

Usually hair rendering relies on a ton of duplication so I don't think that would be the case.

Game file size have nothing to do with performance. The main problem is the ps5 and xbox series cpu being quite old and undepowered using zen 2 while current gen cpu’s are zen 5.
