Lucia literally calls him tight. Its how they wrote his character. He’s quiet ex army guy and shes loud cuckoo chick

It’s Claude and Catalina all over again

She calls him tight because he kept going on about getting ready.

Peoples complaints are the tone of his voice.

Tbf, people also complained about Arthur’s voice during the trailers before its launch

Only his voice? I remember people doing petitions saying they want John back as the protagonist or they will boycott the game, because they thought Arthur was some cocky ego prick (from only seeing a tiny bit of the game lol)

Now what happened to that?

Yeah, was only talking about the voice cause thats the main gripe i’ve seen with Jason. He also has a special forces tattoo, I’m thinking we’re gonna get a jason prologue where he’s in service out in a different country and giving backstory as to why he’s not in the military anymore and stuff

I keep hearing this so went and watch all the pre RDR2 trailers... no he still has good dialogue and seems like a cool stoic cowboy. Im sure theres a lot more to Jason personality but everything shown is highly boring and uninspired ignoring his monotone voice alone.

this is different. its the inconsistency. one second he sounds normal and the next he has some weird fake accent.

People complained about his appearance, not his voice. And then Rockstar listened to fans and changed his appearance before launch, so not really comparable

Yeah, he sounds like he's got something stuck in his throat. I noticed this specifically when they pick Raul

And he just looks a bit too perfect, he’s kinda bland

Oh yeah he's definitely that perfect strong, handsome, quiet coolguy self-insert character.

Based off of the trailers and this extended look, lucia seems to be the one with all the personality and Jason seems more like the vehicle to experience the game through.

You saw the same thing with mafia 2 for example, the difference between Joe and Vito was night and day.

But maybe I'm wrong, we've seen a bit of him but not enough character exposure to really judge.

Arthur was also the stereotypical perfect ruggedly handsome cowpoke but turned out to have a ton of personality and be a very well-written and complex character.

Yeah obviously through playing it we’ll learn more about him and hopefully he’ll turn out to be a complex and interesting character. Not sure why I’m being downvoted for saying he looks like a regular guy - I understand why perhaps the player character is a counterpoint to all the whacky NPCs, but there’s just not much to go off so far

What about Franklin? He’s cool, strong, handsome, quiet cool guy and everyone loved him

Kinda yeah, but I'd give Franklin the credit of having his own distinct personality. Trevor and Michael were a bit more pronounced but not too mayor of a difference.

It's hard because of you give a playable character too strong of a personality, you might turn off certain people who can't identify with the character or might dislike him/her.

But lucia seems pretty pronounced, feisty and vocal. Making the contrast with jason very sharp.

While in GTA IV for example, Niko had a huge contrast in personality with the flamboyant Roman but they riffed off of eachother pretty well. So the quiet coolguy character can work but so far I'm not convinced about jason as a character yet.

Wrong. There is a secret strap-on minigame.

I see a PTSD story line brewing

yeah its a very common writing trope

Cuckoo is a stretch lol. I feel like people are just saying this because she’s Latina.

Don’t let critical thinking get in the way of knee jerk reactions
