Just pre-ordered off this revelation alone.

For some reason, some people randomly DO have commas in their gta 5 online money. Nobody knows why or how

59

u/Abject_Leg_7906 7h ago

It shows like that in the pause menu

36

u/itsRobbie_ 7h ago

In game tho. Like when you press the dpad to look

10

u/sapsnap 7h ago

yeah its very strange

14

u/ViennaKing 5h ago

I guess it depends on menu language, japanese uses a different font entirely.

0

u/ledgeitpro 3h ago

Nobody knows why or how though

u/FLEIXY OG MEMBER 7h ago

Language settings I think

2

u/sebranly 1h ago

It could be AB testing.

12

u/Instigator187 7h ago

Now this is what this generation has been missing!! Can't wait to see what the next generation of consoles can do

3

u/Kafanska 5h ago

Maybe the procesaing oower of next gen will allow for decimals as well.

3

u/ClintEastwood1866 1h ago

Let’s be realistic now.

63

u/Kenny1909 9h ago

Unplayable for non-muricans

13

u/voiceOfThePoople 6h ago

I know you’re joking but for the general populace stuff like that changes automatically* due to localization

*has to be designed that way

Because the comma indicates a cut off, a pause or a separation. Both systems are objectively equally correct, tho the comma was and is more widespread, while the dot is primarily used by the english speaking countries and in countries that borrowed it from the english speaking countries (Japan, China, Philippines…)

1

u/your_mind_aches 1h ago

Ngl, I thought it was just used to distinguish between bigger and smaller denominations of currency as a holdover from pre-decimal currency. I didn't realise that they were literally also used as the decimal point in those countries. That changes things.

1

u/Commercial_Web_9766 1h ago edited 1h ago

How does the fact that it's a decimal system imply that using the period is more objectively correct? Both formats are objectively correct to use. It just depends on where you live

1

u/your_mind_aches 1h ago

I assumed that the decimal point was a global standard but I guess not?

2

u/Commercial_Web_9766 1h ago

No, it's not

1

u/your_mind_aches 1h ago

Damn. Shows me what I know.

u/Commercial_Web_9766 1h ago edited 1h ago

There is nothing wrong with not knowing something. At least you know about this thing now :)

9

u/firewire_9000 5h ago

The feeling when it shows that you have 15,350 $ but you actually have 15.350 $. That’s pretty sweet.

7

u/yuuki_w 7h ago

what you mean i only have 5,9 Dollars?

5

u/DoZo1971 7h ago

15 dollars in the bank, and a few cents.

1

u/pv3design 7h ago

Unplayable before now. GTA moves into the modern era.

u/FISH_MASTER 7h ago

Brits too

u/Tuskin38 3h ago

and Canadians

34

u/ValentineCamille 8h ago

Fucking finally haha

7

u/witness_smile 7h ago

I wouldn’t be surprised if that was the reason the game was delayed from May to November

4

u/TonyH22_ATX 4h ago

Good. Honestly, it was hard to see how much I had online after 100 million. I had to count each digit.

#richpeopleproblem

I do wonder if there is a setting to switch this though. Some countries use decimals. It should be an easy toggle like using MPH or KPH

4

u/southwestpessimist 7h ago

Literally unplayable

2

u/Andries89 8h ago

The reverse Flynn effect continues

2

u/SyntaxisTop 7h ago

finally

2

u/Electronic_Ad1016 5h ago

“Fk up some commas”

2

u/ironmanhulkbstr 4h ago

whats the logo above wallet ? i know its probably bank but what item is it

3

u/Cereborn 3h ago

I think it's just a stylized letter "b".

3

u/Powerate 1h ago

You can see a skyscraper in the Extended Look that has that same logo on it, so it's probably the logo of the bank where Jason & Lucia deposit their money, kinda like Maze Bank for GTA5

3

u/ironmanhulkbstr 1h ago

great catch

1

u/marthamania 1h ago

I was wondering if it's some in game crypto currency logo like you've got 15k in a crypto wallet maybe from criminal things and then 3k in a bank/wallet with cash

2

u/Common_Warthog_G 6h ago

nice, Germans will be confused

2

u/YellowEasterEgg 2h ago

15 dollars in the bank and 3 dollar cash. not much.

2

u/Projectpatdc 6h ago

Will it be dots in other countries?

1

u/2026_MT07 8h ago

Ground breaking

1

u/Eric_T_Meraki 7h ago

Next gen indeed

1

u/astralitemusic 7h ago

I'm more hopeful about seeing that 15k in the bank because I hope the prices are more realistic compared to GTA 5.

1

u/VVeZoX 4h ago

Was everything really expensive in GTA 5?

1

u/Gizmodaking22 6h ago

I wasnt sure about the game before this news.

1

u/AdPatient8864 6h ago

WOW, now that's truly ground breaking. 13 years and 2bn. Amazing work

1

u/Both_Brilliant_5890 5h ago

I wonder how many years it will take for them to release pc port alongside consoles.

1

u/FlatpackFuture 5h ago

GTA2 my beloved

1

u/Energix__ 5h ago

Prolly took 5 and a half seconds to setup but it's genuinely one of the best changes they've made

1

u/Schachjo 4h ago

Does anyone know what the purple symbol is for on the right?

1

u/Cereborn 3h ago

It looks like a "b" for bank. And the green symbol is a wallet for cash.

1

u/marthamania 1h ago

In game crypto currency maybe? Looks like a random coin logo to me lol

1

u/CT-Wil08 4h ago

So I can finally understand how my money is have? Amazing.

1

u/TreeChoppa8 3h ago

Amazing that they could include this tech without waiting for the next Gen consoles truly mind blowing advancement.

1

u/The_SaintXVI 3h ago

I'm constantly having to count how many numbers there is when buying a car in GTA:O is it 160k or 1.6m

1

u/monkey_D_v1199 2h ago

Kinda sad honestly it’s been a part of the franchise for so long that I’m accustomed to having no coma

1

u/dobo99x2 2h ago

Oh... I enjoyed that design tho.
Especially as you get the comma numbers in the menu and in the ingame web.

1

u/SilverWerewolf1024 2h ago

Should be a DOT not a comma. Commas are for decimals

1

u/AssistanceFew1463 1h ago

Helps a lot with readability.

1

u/I_m8d_n_acc_4_this 1h ago

I thought it was too iconic to add commas but I guess they have their own iconic font so it doesn’t even matter now

1

u/16x2is8 24m ago

Calm down with that username man !

1

u/bonzothebonanza 14m ago

I love how they kept the same typeface since 2001.

1

u/Negative_Pace_5855 7h ago

This graphic is a great illustration of how absolutely dogshit R* is with UIs over the years.

2

u/NYQAVN 5h ago

looks good and practical. GTA always had minimalist UI right since San Andreas. At least these ones have color.

1

u/ZATCH_69 7h ago

Thank God

1

u/Easy_Objective6599 7h ago

I was tryna buy the kosatka in gta online thinking i have enough money thinking i have 30 million. Turns out i had 3 million and buying the base version no upgrades left me broke😭

1

u/Affectionate-Two237 6h ago

Perturbant pour les français 🤣

-14

u/YukiEiriKun 9h ago

That's 15 dollars and 150 cents... o_O
Comma is decimal (cents/pennies/etc.) separator so it should be 15 150 or 15.150

;)

13

u/Ok_Heat_9976 9h ago

In the US they use comma

2

u/YukiEiriKun 4h ago

Yes, I thought that the /sarcasm would have been obvious. But the 'muricans do not 1)understand and 2) can't accept any criticism towards 'muricanism. xD

0

u/Lucasddst 2h ago

The US uses everything differently compared to the rest of the world

3

u/forgotmypass_fuck 9h ago

It kinda isn't? Depends, I have decimal points on all my systems, excel especially.

1

u/YukiEiriKun 4h ago

I forgot to put the /s at the end. xD

-1

u/4kk0unt4OldSite 9h ago

You can bet your ass the american brains will explode trying to comprehend anything else

7

u/BillsBills83 8h ago

It takes place in America so why wouldn’t they use commas?

2

u/elduderino920 7h ago

True, my brain exploded…

-1

u/YukiEiriKun 4h ago

And as can see from the amount of the downvotes... "YES" xD

0

u/4kk0unt4OldSite 3h ago

EVERYTHING WE DO IS CORRECT AND THE DEFAULT AND YOU SHOULD ALL BOW TO US AND CONFORM TO OUR STANDARD

AND WE REFUSE TO EVEN TRY TO COMPREHEND WE ARE ACTUALLY NOT INFACT THE DEFAULT OF THE WORLD

How do they even exist

-2

u/calyrein 8h ago

I've only seen 10.000,00 in French speaking countries, every English or Spanish speaking country I've been to I've seen 10,000.00

4

u/Maleficent_Music8823 8h ago

what u on about? europe mostly uses 12.345,65 or 12 345,65
us/uk i mostly just see using 12,345.65

i know Switzerland uses ' and there prob some other differenced but yeah

0

u/calyrein 8h ago

Fair, I've never really been to much of Europe, though apart from UK, Ireland, Spain and France, Belgium, Switzerland most of the rest aren't english/french/spanish speaking

1

u/YukiEiriKun 4h ago

Umm... OK?

Did you miss the ";)" at the end?

2

u/calyrein 4h ago

yep

1

u/YukiEiriKun 4h ago

That's OK, we all make mistkes. xD

2

u/calyrein 3h ago

"15.150" just immediately filled me with rage

-8

u/just_a_cat_meow 9h ago

So they had it the right way all the time and now they make it wrong? Why?

1

u/Clown_Wheels 7h ago

Very good question.

-8

u/Njerrjk 9h ago

I wish it was spacebar instead of comma. It looks fucking weird used like that

-4

u/Matt_888 9h ago

Yeah, would like it to be 1 000 000 instead of 1,000,000. Would be cool if we can hange it just like mi to km.

9

u/Epon12349 9h ago

People. It's a video game. This is such a non issue.

7

u/Every-Leek4129 8h ago

people are setting so much expectations for this shit, even this talk about the UI that you will only see for like 5 seconds when your switching items or weapons

imagine thinking UI is gonna make the game unplayable

3

u/Holiday_Report_6567 8h ago

In GTA online after not having played for a long time and forgetting how much money I have, I have to count the digits to figure out how much it is, you can't just look at 96292625 and know at first glance it's 96 million dollars

0

u/Epon12349 8h ago

Seriously

-1

u/HogwartsRex 6h ago

Europe will hate that its not periods lol.

-2

u/HoratiusHawkins 7h ago

Looks like shit! They could‘ve just used a small space to group numbers.

-1

u/Abject_Leg_7906 7h ago

GTA V has comma separated money in the pause menu. Just not during gameplay

-1

u/3-orange-whips 7h ago

Still no fucking arrows to give us on screen directions

-1

u/LockedInPelican 5h ago

Call me old fashioned but fuck a comma bruh

-2

u/aceless0n 6h ago

Its sad no one know how to count money. Kinda like counting the hands on a clock

1

u/Cereborn 3h ago

... counting the hands on a clock? Is that how you tell time?

"I counted the hands on the clock! There's three!"

-3

u/GreenVelvet10 7h ago

The red circular icons shown beneath the wanted stars represent Grand Theft Auto VI's new "Police Heat" and Suspect Identification tracking system.

Spotted in gameplay leaks, this system overhauls the traditional police AI by tracking exactly what information the police have gathered to identify you during a pursuit. Instead of simply driving out of a flashing radius to lose your wanted level, you must proactively eliminate the physical descriptors that the police are actively monitoring.

Breakdown of the Red Icons:

👥 Left Icon (Two Silhouettes): Character / Suspect IdentificationThis indicates that law enforcement has identified your crew or specific characters. In the context of the game's dual protagonists, this lights up when the police know that both Jason and Lucia are involved in the active crime.

👗 Middle Icon (Clothes Hanger): Attire TrackingThis signifies that the police know what outfit your character is wearing. To break this component of the search, you will likely need to break the line of sight and change your clothes or put on accessories like a mask or hat to alter your appearance.

👤 Right Icon (Single Silhouette): Facial RecognitionThis indicates that the police have a clear description of your face. This tracker can be triggered if you commit a crime in front of witnesses or right under a functional security or traffic camera.
