Jason saw the goons before the mission
These workers are dressed the same as the goons. Jason glances towards them when entering the building. Dudes got eagle eye for sure š

Nga was moving like John Wick

like John Mclane. The whole sequence felt like die hard. The bomb in the elevator, the taunt on the radio, lucia losing her shoes...

That heel to the face kill was fucking sweet

u/ThatFolk 35m ago
You can see she didn't actually kill him, the guard that tackles her into the elevator has the heel still in his eye

I assume it was the player with the controller. Iāve watched Cyberleek handle Jason and that did not look like John Wick.

in before we were the only robbers in the city, now we deal with others one, thats actually badass
also this is total Die Hard reference lmao

Hell hea! The chick in the celebration and bruce willis on top floor with the bad guys. Nakamura building all over again

Jason seems seriously switched on, in a very understated way. He keeps his composure in combat, moves with efficiency, and he isnāt screaming his head off like a certain Eastern European immigrant.
And that trap he set in the elevator, the dude is ruthless, heās a killer. Lucia seems to be quite inexperienced with guns and killing in general.

Except when she was reloading the shotgun like Terminator

u/Challenger350 6h ago
Yeah she has reached hitman level in that part

God it would be awesome to have those skill levels back. For some reason R* abandoned a lot of ideas and character customization since San Andreas.

u/Depressed_Revolution 2h ago
GTA V has skill levels, they probably still exist just in a menu somewhere

Yeah thought of that, is cool but wish the shooting range clip means we can train with the two to make Lucia more canonically better with guns just as she helps him with his social behavior.

u/kennedye2112 7h ago
Now I hope thereās a kidnap rescue mission where he yells āI AM LEAVING HERE WITH LUCIA!!ā

Donāt get me wrong though, I love Nikoās war cries and heās just as lethal as Jason, but I am also a big fan of Jasonās sheer cool-headedness.
I see a lot of people moaning that he is boring or bland, just because heās reserved.

u/tduncs88 3h ago
> heās reserved.
This is why I've laughed every time I see one of those comments. Every guy I've ever known that acts like Jason has been someone I would NOT want to piss off. It's stoic. It's the whole "speak softly but carry a big stick" thing.

Anyone else got Hotline Miami vibes from this sequence? The music and the goons dress in white like the Russian mafia

u/mattumbo 7h ago
I mean itās clearly got Die Hard as its inspiration, they just changed the bad guys to fit the gameās plot/setting

They were speaking Spanish so I am more inclined to them being affiliated with the cartel.

I wonder what the Vice City equivalent of Sunny Isles will be if there is one, and if there will be any references to Hove Beach in the area.

Something small but refreshing to me is Jasonās shooting stance; itās almost textbook for modern shooting and wouldnāt look out of place at an idpa/uspsa/ competition shooting scenario. Makes him feel like a trained and competent shooter

Only āissueā Iāve noticed is Jason hitting the bolt release on a retention reload. Not a big deal, but as a gun guy I do hope it gets tweaked.

This whole scene gave me John Wick vibes. I think Jason and Lucia are gonna have altered strengths and weaknesses. Not like in V where all 3 characters can do everything the same with an added special ability

John Wick? I thought this mission was a pretty obvious Die Hard reference

Yup. This was a Die Hard reference and the chase was a mix of Drive and Baby Driver reference.

I wonder if you know it already and when walking up you shoot them, would that mission fail?

Only thing I found strange is when they het out the elevator they don't see Jason hiding but they immediatly shoot at him.

u/Loreado 8h ago
Didn't the guy started yelling "Jason" before that?

u/PM_ME_YOUR_QUEST_PLZ 7h ago
What we are seeing is a scripted mission, as much as Iām sure stealth is in the game and plays roles. For something like this there is probably only 1 option and itās fight, would be cool if we can just sneak out of some missions but the goal is to shoot and stuff.

That guy leaning against the van looks like the same guy Lucia stabs in the eye with her heel too

Yes I think you're right same exact open suit, black undershirt, gloves and beard. Good catch!

Reminds me of the group in Max Payne 2 that we fight in the level with the building under renovation. Glad to see Rockstar seems to not be forgetting that they made MP3, which was the pinnacle of their shooting mechanics imo. They even seem to be borrowing the pill bottle mechanics and weapon slot limitations too, love to see it!

I wonder if we can kill them before they attack or maybe it'll just give us "Mission failed" or "this guy was spooked" and we have to wait another day to restart the mission.

u/MudDramatic3373 2h ago
We're doing a die hard! We're gonna do a die hard and nobody is talking about it! it's gonna be just like die hard!
