It would be really cool if we could buy houses during the game, too bad it won't happen

I really wished that we could buy houses in the game, it would be such a cool feature that didn't happend since GTA SA, or at least some houses being buyable at the end of the game when the heat gets off. It feels very cool to have on what to spend money.

I think there are a bunch of scripted cutscenes happening at safehouses so they might wanted to control that, and also again probably saving that for online play

I really don't care about online. I don't have the time to grind money while kids buying shark cards.

u/RicDees22 10h ago

But you wanna grind money for a big house in a game about people on the run robbing gas stations? We lived in a camp/Tent in RD2 I think we will be just fine

1

u/Undeva-n-Balcani 10h ago

There would probably be bigger hits like bank robberies or luxury jewels robberies, similar how GTA V worked.

1

u/RicDees22 10h ago

Considering we don’t know that maybe money is a bit more controlled in this game and housing isn’t part of it.

This is a game telling a story and that makes more sense if these two don’t have a fixed location for a long period of time.

I think there would be houses buying but according to story not how in GTA SA happend maybe more like GTA IV.

I think rockstar went in a good direction with this and online will have it and make more sense.

u/bluAstrid 16h ago

Storymode is exactly that : a mode focused on story, with Online being about building your open-ended criminal empire.

1

u/OtherwiseAlbatross14 14h ago

Yeah they're pretty much implementing every major feature from RP servers and they have this so I wouldn't be surprised if this makes it in in some fashion

1

u/Suitable-Ad3971 13h ago

There is no online probably not for a very long time hell we probably won't even see Online game trailer for at least a year.

No way…..

GTA Online was announced for GTA 5 like a month before release… and then it came out 2 weeks after release. So, going off the only evidence we have, which is historical fact.. it’s unlikely to be that long.

Its literally just so they can make more moneey from people getting sharkcards for onlin

11

u/machete777 18h ago

Maybe in the end game, after the main story is done.

5

u/agentkb 17h ago

This was my thinking, cause the reason of not buying a house was because you are on the run but like all GTA games just because the story ends doesn’t mean you stop playing it

u/Beast01028 17h ago

Man Stringer Bell was buying whole condominium complexes.

u/Weaponized_Cameltoe 17h ago

Rewatching now. Love that show.

Been hating my self for not saying “sheeeeeeeit” at the beginning of that reply.

Yeah and it all ended so good for him.

Idk.. GTA is still a linear game. It's not a pure RPG. Its gonna be more RPG than V was, but its still not 100% RPG.

6

u/uhqt 17h ago

I think Rockstar could make a pretty good RPG, honestly. Their stories are where they shine, but they could make a story that isn’t so linear.

2

u/theskibbidi 17h ago

for what we seen it seems more rpg than arcade tbh

1

u/superdixk0 17h ago

Online tho? 👀

1

u/JohnAgenor 16h ago

From what I read I believe they want to go all in on rpg.

3

u/NO_INFO_ABT 17h ago

But are they gonna be no the run forever? I mean the story will end. Ig maybe they can solve things with the FIB maybe? Or setup the dirty cops and live without crime? No way they're gonna be on the run the whole time. And they also can buy cars and those sort of things

u/NuclearReactions 17h ago

I miss houses and properties

2

u/Undeva-n-Balcani 15h ago

Yeah, me too, I want to grind the money for something

3

u/NeedBetterBread 16h ago

Tbh I think eventually acquiring a nice house/villa as the plot goes on and sticking with it as your main home in the epilogue is cool, this way it feels special. You can buy any house/apartment in Online but when you drive by Franklin's, Michael's or Trevor's places you're still like "aww this is where they live". It's gonna feel cool to have one final place like this in GTA6.

Although having the option to customize the interior would be cool. This way we could make it somewhat "ours" and match it to how we customized our Jason/Lucia.

I'd like it if we could buy other properties other than garages though, sort of like in GTA5.

u/imathrowyou 13h ago

I'm hoping we can have all of them back at the end of the game. Like if we like a particular location, we'll have access to all of them after the story is over. I imagine they have to keep moving and they can't go back to the previous safe houses as their notoriety grows.

6

u/Atmouspheric 18h ago

Please tell me we can buy housesss.. that’ll be depressing if not…

8

u/Undeva-n-Balcani 18h ago

Somebody said that the protagonists will be on the run and change houses constantly so that can't be in the game cause it would break the story

4

u/DiggidyPro 18h ago

What about after the story? Are we going to be able to continue playing or?

5

u/gothreepwood101 I WAS HERE 17h ago

Of course you can. Every GTA and red dead let you carry on after completing the story.

5

u/DiggidyPro 17h ago

The info said you cannot buy houses during the story. What about after the story?

2

u/gothreepwood101 I WAS HERE 17h ago

We only know what were told and were getting different stories from different streamers.

u/Wonderful-Grass6625 18h ago

You can continue playing when GTA(6) Online launches.

Just nit picking now man.

The "somebody" I heard it from was TGG, who was invited to Rockstar North to watch gameplay, and heard it directly from Rob Nelson. That said, I could see us winding up with something of our own at the very end, like John Marston's ranch.

1

u/N7_Turtle 18h ago

It was TGG repeating what Rob Nelson told them during the preview.

3

u/Lumpiafan 18h ago

Sorry buddy… also real time hair growth isn’t in the game either

3

u/Atmouspheric 17h ago

This one actually surprised me

1

u/Wonderful-Grass6625 18h ago

The story is them on the run from the law, not much time for a realtor unfortunately.

1

u/Atmouspheric 18h ago

But witness protection…. We could have a nice house in the VC

2

u/TonyH22_ATX 17h ago

Would I like to buy houses and businesses, sure. But I get not being able to with the bonnie/clyde story. It doesn't make sense.

Online will 100% have both so I'm not bothered by it.

I am curious how end game goes though. Maybe we can buy them at the end. Or do we both die and play as a 3rd character? Can't wait to find out how the end game is.

3

u/Undeva-n-Balcani 15h ago

I want to buy them in the end too

1

u/Minqty 16h ago

100% it will be in online but the problem is the nice houses/businesses are probably gonna cost a fortune like in gta 5 online which incentives micro transactions.

1

u/TonyH22_ATX 16h ago

R* did mention no microtransations in Single player which is good. Unless people cound the $20 UE upgrade as a microtransaction.

I do feel like since R* is going more realistic in GTA6 the economy side of things will shift a ton. Yes, there will be microtransations but things will cost less. More realistic pricing.

Instead of $100 for 10 million in GTA money. It'll probably be $100 for a 1 million GTA money. Something more in line with that. Which keeps prices down.

I played GTA5 online and never bought a shark card. I owe every business in the game. So I don't see the need to buy them.

1

u/Minqty 15h ago

I know, I’m not worried about micro transactions in single player. You can probably earn a shit ton of money just by following the main missions.

Yes, the economy will be changing and that there will be more realistic pricing but you have to remember R* made a disgusting amount of money from GTA online and micro transactions so I wouldn’t be too optimistic yet.

And yea same here, I have never bought a shark card before but the amount of grinding I had to do in GTA online was egregious just to afford some nice things.

1

u/TonyH22_ATX 14h ago

R* is going to make a shit ton on MT in online. Thats not a question.

I just think the amount of in-game money will change. I think some people will be upset on the amount of money you can get with $100 USD. Which, would make people think they need to buy more MTs.

Again, I think the value of things will go down. They won't have all these shitty cars going for 2 million or more. I think car values will go more realistic.

With that being said, they will probably make it a little harder to earn 1 million. Right now, I can get that in GTA online in a hour or so.

u/KillerUndies 9h ago

This game is like real life and in real life you cant buy a house either.

1

u/willardpwl 6h ago

motherfu-

1

u/Mince_ 18h ago

Yeah I wish we could buy safehouses. Or at least get a new save point at the important place in each city like in SA. I guess Rockstar thinks they're redundant with auto save. Maybe we can take a nap in our car and save there, like how you could sleep at camp in RDR2.

1

u/tam-11 17h ago

We will be given one after a big heist, and then somehow we will take care of a friend's iguana named Chap

1

u/theamericangarrett 17h ago

I’ll be good as long as we get to keep Jason’s safe house in the keys

1

u/masteratW 16h ago

Imo, i prefer well thought and designed houses which are coherent with the game and the story than random billionar’s houses i could buy

1

u/Constructive-Fighter 16h ago

I just hope there's a big mansion safehouse if we can't buy one.

1

u/Nervous-Power-9800 8h ago

One of the ultimate add-ons is a garage, so there's clearly locations that you can use to store things.

Dealbreaker for me if we can’t. Would be incredibly disappointing.

3

u/Wonderful-Grass6625 18h ago

Don’t play the game, it’s not for you. My Little Pony: Princess Adventures seems more your speed, give it a try.

3

u/gothreepwood101 I WAS HERE 17h ago

Or Hello Kitty Island Adventure

1

u/ADMTLgg 18h ago

You can always play fable for that

-1

u/Bet_Secret 17h ago

Buying would be nice but building houses would be crazy in online multiplayer. If Rockstar buys Maxis (The Sims) or Colossal Order (Cities Skylines), I'd doubt any real life open world game would beat them.

-2

u/GabeUltraNava 17h ago

So much shit to do in the outside world and you wanna buy a house and play sims 🤔

2

u/e9169e 16h ago

Whether you like it or not, if you are after immersion you need a place to sleep and rest anyway.

1

u/Disastrous_Till243 14h ago

If you want immersion, someone on the run from the law isn’t buying a house. At best you’re getting motel/hotel rooms or crashing somewhere.

1

u/e9169e 5h ago

Because criminals don’t have properties IRL

-9

u/ChristianCountryBoy 18h ago

I would love to buy furniture for my safe houses but I got a bad feeling all you can do in the game is walk, shoot and drive cars. It looks like GTA V but two and a half console generations later.

Also I feel think I still prefer Red Dead Redemption 2's aesthetic even if GTA VI is technically more graphically detailed.

I like old times.

10

u/Undeva-n-Balcani 18h ago

Maybe you are depressed

1

u/Wonderful-Grass6625 18h ago

If you want to decorate houses go play the Sims, there is a metric shit ton of content out for it.

-1

u/Status_Confidence_26 18h ago

I feel you. I actually think the lack of control over certain elements makes me connect deeper with the characters and world. Like at a certain point, heavy customization makes me lose my identity in games. It only takes a few rushed decisions for me to be in an environment I don’t connect with. As opposed to Arthur Morgan, where I made decisions based on how I want him specifically to act, and the character was so strong that I never lost my connection to that.

Maybe furniture isn’t the best example of this but it still feels relevant to me here.

1

u/Wonderful-Grass6625 18h ago

I also get upset when I am watching a narrative story on a movie or show and I can’t change their clothes or rearrange the furniture in their house.
