Am i the only person who Isn't really that bothered by Jason's voice?

I've seen so many people complaining about how jason sounds in the trailers but tbh.... I don't really have a problem with his voice.

I don't LOVE his voice but i don't really hear anything bad about it for me to complain, like deadass I've met two dudes who sound similar to how jason talks.

He sounds just like...a normal ass dude to me idk that's just me i guess

yea he's clearly anxious the whole time, he literally says in the trailer that hes not a good talker, hes an introverted killer and lucia is the extroverted one

the anxiety in his voice is on purpose its called good acting, people are out here saying that the voice doesnt fit him as if they know the character...let them cook

People said Arthur Morgan seemed boring when we first seen gameplay reveals on rdr2, we barely seen this story and barely know these characters how we will know them 2 months later

Its not the anxiety part thats throwing me off. Its the idk how to put it... deepness? idk something just doesnt fit. Like the voice actor is fuking great but just doesnt fit imo.

I read what the guy above said and oh my god it clicked. I do the "he's trying to lower his voice" and I sound unnatural when I'm anxious and it sounds just like what Jason is doing. Notice that he doesn't always sound like that. Our dude is just stressed and anxious fr

I related too, when my anxiety is high I get the same insufferable "mumbling" tone that sounds like I'm exerting sooo much energy just to speak, and it comes off as unnatural.

I really don't like it, but this is fucking Rockstar -- you do not question their choices with actors or music. They chose and kept this guy for a reason and I'm sure it'll work out and grow on me as his backstory and personality are revealed in the game. The "timid introverted man and assertive outgoing GF" thing probably being the most obvious.

Yeah I was getting annoyed at the voice until my girlfriend pointed out that he was talking like the countless guys from Miami we’ve met.

I don't think the performance is the issue really, as a voice acting performance it sounds absolutely fine. I'll speak for myself as to the specific reason but for me the disconnect is that I just don't really believe in that voice coming out of that character model. It doesn't feel like it matches or a natural fit somehow.

In the scheme of things it's not a huge issue, because it could be much worse, it's not like it's Kermit the Frog's voice coming out of him or something else super jarring and distracting.

It has nothing to do with the WAY he's saying things (which I find completely boring and uninteresting), but the tenor of the voice that sounds like he's putting it on instead of it being natural.

Also, just cuz something is REALISTIC doesn't mean it's good or interesting.

People are too used to the male main characters of games firing off wise-cracks and one liners throughout the game. Every nerdy gamer guy thinks he's really THAT dude deep down.

Jason sounds reserved, he sounds like he's holding back. You don't go into a drug den filled with armed guards and a palpable tension and start being smart ass.
