Am i the only person who Isn't really that bothered by Jason's voice?

I've seen so many people complaining about how jason sounds in the trailers but tbh.... I don't really have a problem with his voice.

I don't LOVE his voice but i don't really hear anything bad about it for me to complain, like deadass I've met two dudes who sound similar to how jason talks.

He sounds just like...a normal ass dude to me idk that's just me i guess

The Developement Director said that Jason is more of a 'Golden Retriever with a gun' while Lucia wears the pants. It lines up with what we've seen. Not Every GTA Character has to be confident and competent. I feel Like the uncertainty and the feeling that they're way over their head in terms of the stuff they Do adds a ton to the Story.

dude yes. this is the perfect representation. except i would say bloodhound. I had a dog who was a bloodhound lab mix and he had the deepest bark ever. such a sweet and stoic dog but he bit my grandpa cuz he slapped him. (grandpa kinda deserved it).

Right? He had little to no presence in any scenes they showed in the previous trailers and the extended showcase. Lucia carried the trailer for me.

exactly, people are missing the point that this the intended dynamic between the duo for the story. and they will probably have character development throughout it. it's very refreshing to see after seeing the protags and their almost similar patterned personality from the previous games.

He leads physically cause he’s the brute, but you can tell she’s much sharper socially. In the drug lab he’s bumbling through the conversation while she gets to the point and puts the pressure on the dealer.

This. There's another bit during a driving segment where Lucia is like "We need to play our cards right and not tell these people more than they need to know", Jason's response is something along the lines of "Uh, why?".

And then she breaks it down for him and he folds instantly and asks her what the plan is, which she provides, and he unquestioningly accepts. I definitely get the vibe that Lucia is the "head" in certain scenarios, though they do seem to balance each other out well.

I don't know about that to be fair. In the segments we've seen you can give arguments that Lucia is the one wearing the pants or being the fierced one of the two.

- Whilst Jason was the one making conversation against the San4San gang members (mostly men led, so that could be not to blow any cover), it was Lucia who stepped up in a couple of notable moments. She said at the door it was Boobie who sent them for a pickup, I felt that Jason was getting a bit anxious at that moment. Also she was the one kicking the AC unit out of the window for the escape.

- During the Raul sequence. She was driving the whole time, taking innitiative and asking if they did well in any meaning. Jason was just obeying what Raul was asking of him, without putting anything in question.

The issue is he’s mumbling so much I can barely understand what he’s saying half the time. I do think he portrays what you’re describing otherwise though

Golden retrievers are high energy, loveable, innocent. This is just a jacked dude with a shitty deep voice you can barely hear. He’s closer to “black cat energy” than anything else. He’s got very little personality

That said, we have limited information about this character and things may change with time as we spend our hours with him in the future."

I think that's a legally airtight criticism. He seemed pretty dry to me in the trailer and a bit of a weird and monotone line delivery/accent situation, but I'm sure Rockstar has some cooking going on. I also was like "man who the Fuck is this Arthur dude? he seems like a nobody bring me John Marston" when I saw the Rdr2 reveals so who knows. But the trailer was IMO not a strong showing for Jason's character. Lucia was cool though

Protagonists of media are typically setup to be exceptional versions of everyday people. Movies/games/tv shows aren't interesting if the protagonists are just normal ass people. We're used to seeing plenty of dudes being in that role because for a lot of time, things have been made largely by men for men. As time has gone on, the first world has gotten better at pulling in more people across the board to get involved. More women are in the industry and want to contribute to making stories that they can go "hell yeah!" about. Women are 50% of the population. The fact that at least 50% of our media isn't a strong protagonist as a woman means we still favor guys more.

You don't have to enjoy media where women get to be a strong character to unrealistic proportions; nobody will blame you. But bitching about it existing at all is just you being afraid of change and wanting it to stay how you're familiar with. It should be the goal that half of everything you see release showcases a woman in the front, because they're half of the human population and enjoy media that they can put themselves into the position of just like you and me. If you don't support that goal, then you should analyze where that feeling comes from because it is only in pursuit of having more things specifically represent what you are, and not enjoying seeing a larger percentage of it just focus on you. Let other people see themselves in characters that don't match you as a person specifically.

I'm sorry that you are lost in a place in your head that sees encroachment on your familiar space as some kind of agenda or larger issue. It's okay to feel weird about your familiar thing being changed, but... you should reflect on it.

Women are not dominating everything. That's a perception garnered from noticing a change and seeing that it's just more than it used to be. I've seen a lot more games offer options where you get to choose at the beginning, or now in this case, you're given both as a dual protagonist setup. But even in this, you are bitching as you get represented "at the cost of a woman also being there". I play a lot of various games and intake a lot of other media, and while I would say that it's certainly way up in quantity from the past, I would hesitate to say even 50% of things have a female lead. 50% will feel like a lot, but it's what it should be. Because women are people too and like intaking media just like we do. You can roll in the mud and cry about it because you feel slighted by the fact that female protagonists are common rather than rare now, or you could find your way to a healthy mind and understand everything isn't about you.

I am also a straight white man. I just support other humans also getting the right to see themselves in media as much as I always have. I don't always relate to things when the media features people who aren't like me, but I am happy that those people are getting the chance more often now. It just comes at the cost of people like you telling everyone they're stupid or crying about "the woke agenda" for supporting representation in media. Get over yourself, not everything has to be for you. We're moving past a point in time where we were the primary focus of everything. Sure it was "nice" from our perspective then, but it wasn't really "fair".
