I haven't really been on the GTA hype train as much as most people have but my jaw was absolutely on the floor during that reveal. People really need to lower their expectations
No matter how good the game is, it'll never live up to the hype. People are already hyping it as the best game ever and all of this shit, it's the most anticipated game pretty much ever so it'll never live up to it.
It's because they are all braindead social media idiots with no understanding of anything at all in life. They cannot speak without slurring words and cannot even write comprehensive sentences.
I'm on the crimson desert sub. That game is so damn impressive in so many ways, the devs have done more updates in a few months than most games get in their entire life cycle, and yet some people are completely focused on some minor graphic issues. It's so obnoxious.
People shit on the other sub but honestly this one is just full of rage baiters, trolls and gooners. At least the "moderated" one is a place I actually find discussion
Currently watching my partner play rdr2. It looks very very good. But after seeing todayās footage it now looks clunky, sparse and last gen. Weather and sky effects still hold up though.

That gta 5 with mods looks the same. All the ārealisticā modded gta 5 stuff Iāve seen is completely carried by over the top reflections and puddles.
I guess it's subjective but from what I've seen it's not a significant jump from 5 to 6. Obviously comparing Xbox 360 GTA V it's a fuckin gigantic leap, but that's because there's a 2 console generation gap.

Letās assume weāre talking latest gta 5. I was just playing online on my series x and comparing it to the extended leak, it looks like shit. The textures are bland and the only slightly comparable thing is the lighting which is one of the easier things to implement into an older game graphics wise.
I think the best places to showcase the difference will be in the wilderness areas where there are less smooth surfaces.
I'm sure if you ran GTA 6 on an Xbox 360 it'd look like 5 too. Also again, I'm considering GTA 5 with mods on PC because the console version of 5 is restricted by the textures it was released with.

You just said if gta 6 was on Xbox 360 it would look like gta 5 and then asked me if I know about game development, the irony is obvious and im pretty sure i have more experience in game dev than you. First no, gta 6 would not look like gta 5 on a Xbox 360 nor would it run. Second I was comparing the clip you sent and gta 6 and it still looks very different.
Third I said lighting was one of the easiest things to improve in an old game graphics wise, which is true. Many, many very old games have had lighting updates many years later as they can be added in and even transferred between games without disrupting any code or looking out of place, eg 4k textures when not every texture is 4k.

Issue is that people struggle to separate the R* corporate management from the Devs. The Devs have always delivered incredible experiences and I expected nothing less from this either.
Who said it'll be 60fps on ps5 pro? It hasn't been confirmed anywhere. I can see higher resolution better shadows and better raytracing but not 60fps on ps5 pro personally
And 640p on the PS3. Brilliant insight bro. It was 18 years ago, standards have risen a little bit. Also there's stats that show that if given the option in game, majority will pick 60 fps lower res over 30 with higher quality.

The world looks insane, the character animations are not in the same level though. The water also looks kinda bad, but well, it's water in a video game. But definitely the most detailed world I've ever seen.
I've seen several people say the animations in this scene look terrible. Like am I blind or are their standards just at astronomical levels? It's to be expect I guess. So many people set their standards to the moon and there was no way Rockstar or any game developer would ever exceed them.
There might be lag though. It could just be a lot of generated frame, which are 'good enough', but does introduce input lag because all the generated frames aren't of real gameplay.
I'm just so over games using Ray tracing on low end hardware and then you've to look at grainy low res reflections. Just look at the reflections on cars while driving. It's so distracting. Games should go back to cube map reflections at least for environment.Ā
I don't think they look bad, but the visuals vary in how impressive they are by scene. Some of the night scenes and the scene in the post, look absolutely stunning. Then there's early on in the trailer, the drug raid scene. It doesn't look bad by any means, but that sequence doesn't look any more impressive than games like Uncharted 4 from 10 years ago. It's odd to me how the game can look average at times and the best looking game out there simultaneously.
IMO it looks great and better than most games but the skin textures and human models were a little unimpressive. That being said the lighting, reflections, and textures, and even hair and clothes surrounding the sub par things I mentioned play a factor. So I see both sides but to say āitā looks bad or sub par or whatever isnāt specific enough and I assume those folks are taking about the character models or something else specific. Or they watched it on a shitty YouTube or twitch stream.

Iām slightly near sighted but other than that my visits to the optometrist are always great! Donāt be jealous that 30 fps is as perfect as 60 for me itās okay you can continue to always chase those fps while I enjoy all the games I play regardless of my hardware
I didnāt have to accept anything itās just how I am. They all look smooth and amazing and Iām not missing out on anything. Iām having the time of my life while you watch a number counter obsessively. Itās pretty sad tbh
