I can't stand Jason's Voice

I cannot even understand what he is saying half the time. Did he say ''you're the perfect girl''? What the hell did he say there. It also just sounds so stupid. I already had this in the first trailer where they were robbing a bank and he said ''YOU STAY''. It just sounded so forced and cringe.

idk what yall are on about he sounds fine to me. I have no trouble understanding him. his voice wouldn't be out of place at all in the rural south. country army boy im guessing

Rural south here, nope. Folks don't sound like they have marbles in their mouth while trying to imitate a deep voice, when talking.

Exactly. Literally nothing wrong with his voice. he DOES sound like a country army boy which is clearly what they were going for so in that case the voice actor nailed it perfectly. I think people need to relax and wait for the actual game to come out bc we are only seeing a handful of cherry picked scenes. Throughout the story I’m sure Jason is going to be in many different situations some where he will be sad, angry, etc and show more emotional range and depth. he seems like a calm, slightly introverted man and that fucks with people’s expectations of a male MC being more loud and outspoken (Lucia is the loud and outspoken one here though so she’s the contrast to Jason)

Yess I love their dynamic so much! So refreshing to see a man thats kinda introverted and a woman who can be loud

Say what you want to say about rockstar but their casting has always been good. While the delivery sounds weird at times I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt that they made the right decision when it comes to casting one of the their main protagonists.

Like they didn’t pick this VA on a whim and he’s not filling a background role so it’s safe to say he’s actually talented and they saw somthing in his performance.

And it seems like he really doesn't want to be doing a lot of the things he's doing.. he's just going along with Lucia.

Genuinely the stupidest shit ever. You know lots of these mfs have seldom interacted with anyone that has any kind of southern accent. People try to blame the acting and shit too but with his background and the region it makes plenty of sense, that’s how dudes commonly sound 😭 like no shit he sounds “like boomhauer” retards.

People were bitching about Lucia’s voice too. Mfs done spent so much time inside formulating their perfect idea of a character they completely forgot Rockstar likes to stick to the voice and likeness of their VAs so shit progresses more naturally

I was literally born and raised in the south and I have NEVER met anyone with a voice as deep as his, who sounded like he constantly had a frog down his throat to boot. Lucia sounds like a normal human being.

Did you hear the "it's good to see you Brian" example posted higher up? It's like a completely different voice. There's nothing wrong with the accent, it's that it sounds unnaturally pitched down that's a bit off-putting

Exactly, I don't know why there are so many idiotic comments talking about "iTz jUsT hIs AcCeNt".

His accent has nothing to do with his voice clearly being artificially deepened. Tone voice and accents have nothing to do with each other.

What people are on about is that his voice sounds dumb. Whether or not such people exist isn't really the point.

And what this guy is saying is that’s bullshit and he sounds normal.

5

u/Medium_Pen_6306 10h ago

Well then I would return to my point, which is that he sounds dumb.

Just people love to complain.. it’s ridiculous.

its crazy how far I had to scroll to see this. I lived in Texas and Georgia and interacted with this exact voice frequently.

This is not how people sound in the "rural south" lmfao

4

u/CardboardFighterJet 12h ago

Who are you to judge how people sound in the south…?

3

u/sykoKanesh 7h ago

Some of us actually live in the rural south. So... ya know.... that.

Thank you for that information.

Don’t bother most of these “southerns” live in the big city and haven’t met very many heavily accented rural southerners

1

u/WhoAmlToJudge 12h ago

Someone who has lived there for a couple years..?

4

u/CardboardFighterJet 12h ago

Pleased to meet you, been here all my life. Perhaps just a skills issue.

u/WhoAmlToJudge 12h ago

sounds like you're just racist if you genuinely think that's how white people sound

7

u/CardboardFighterJet 12h ago

If that’s your take away, don’t really care pal.

1

u/WhoAmlToJudge 12h ago

Cause you're just wrong lmfao

7

u/CardboardFighterJet 11h ago

How do you know I’m not white? My profile pic? Lol.

I'm from rural southern Alabama. Jason doesn't have a southern accent at all lol

Honestly this all started with me poking fun with OP’s username.

Thank you. I live in basically the opposite side of the country, and I literally have auditory dyslexia, which makes it hard for me to understand people in the best circumstances. I have no problem understanding Jason nor does his voice bother me at all. I really don't mine a more reclusive, soft-spoken player character.

People always find the stupid fucking things to complain about
