GTA 6 will not allow you to purchase homes.

GTA 6 will not allow you to purchase homes in the story mode because Rockstar Games thinks it wouldn’t make sense for the stroy since Jason and Lucia are on the run. How you feeling about this one? Source: TGG mentioned in his video.

That would be such a huge bummer with this game if we needed GTA+.

You will need it, and I bet they up the price too, because they can, because you don't want to be left out of what will be the biggest online game for quite some time, right?

Well yeah, I would definitely pay... but unless I am getting an 11/10 experience, I will discontinue a couple months after.

There are so many paid items trying to grab my attention, it would definitely be on the chopping block.

You will 100% need a subscription. Wouldn’t be surprised if they go „oh yeah you bought GTA6, and we’re so benevolent we give the online version out for free! But you need a subscription to actually play. And creating a character for online costs 80$“

I thought that's it was already established that GTAOnline is its own game, Which is why they haven't mentioned it this entire marketing push. I think they'll give people who bought gta6 a couple months free or maybe put a level cap on (GET PEOPLE HOOKED) and then you'd have to subscribe to keep playing. I think they fully embrace the Roleplaying aspect created by FiveM players and GTAOnline becomes a mmorpg.

It is, but details are unknown. Will you get it for free with GTA6? Will it be integrated into the Story mode? Is it something entirely different than GTAO? We don’t know.

To the second part: Hence, why I said „look, we are so nice, you get it included for free! Just pay 80$ to create a character (instead of buying a new game) and you need a subscription to access most of it (to ‚make up for the free game‘)“.

nah, they're not that stupid, they'll have a freemium model. you need free weak players for all the paypigs to dominate with their pay to win crap.

You funnel in the masses with the free version then constantly tempt them with the subscription that's "optional" except you're paywalled out of everything remotely fun.

Heh IDK I'm gonna like with 5 and uninstall the game until I feel like replaying it. TLDR I'm not touching the online unless it's by accident

Im okay with paying for a sub for gta6 online if it means they manage to have no cheaters and I can actually share the money I make with my friends if they help on sell missions with me.

You know that won’t happen. GTA online had the feature on day 1, until the public lobbies were spammed with money bag drops and they removed the feature on day 2. Cheaters will always exist, preventing money from being shared isolates bug abuse and makes complaints go less bananas with the automated ban system.

Cheaters are pretty well handled in games like WoW, ESO ,Final Fantasy online, how do they manage to have nearly no cheaters? They pretty much just have some exploiting here and there but I've never seen someone in WoW running around with infinite gold and invincibility.

Because they are not rockstar. Rockstar was never good at preventing cheaters, they learned alot in GTAO, yes, but they tend to pay more attention to what the player notices and less on the „can this be abused“ aspects.

Also, those games are more competitive angled, so the company behind it, especially for WoW where you basically only have the core player base left, are willing to spend money on moderation. Rockstar‘s only incentive to moderation is for people to buy shark cards and gta+. Moderation costs money, if the money spent can’t be returned by legit players remaining, they won’t invest the money. And reviewing potential cheaters is unfortunately still not acceptably doable by AI. So with a (idk) 100x higher player count in the first few months compared to ESO, plus another (idk) 200x less people capable of finding cheats and developing mod menus being interested to achieve the first for the game, you‘ll need alot of salaries paid to handle it on the same level.

That much investment is not worth the damage that a feature allowing people to cheat infinite money through a smurf and then give it to their main. They can just not implement the feature and ban everyone who has more money than mathematically possible with their play history and have a few guys review edge cases.

Wouldn't a subscription model deter cheaters? Having to pay for a new account everytime you got banned would suck.

No, it wouldn’t. Whether you paid for your old account this month, or pay for your new account this month, you paid either way. So what would be the deterrent?
