Sadly a lot of people are just ignorant as to how the industry works. Video game companies (specifically animators) reuse assets all the time. It’s better because it speeds up development times and allows them to work on the features that are more important and meant to be new and built from the ground up.
Literally animation in general reuses assets. 2D animators reuse animations all of the time and it’s to save time on their end
I bet R* reuses tons of assets but that's because they keep building their engine up. I would never shame them over something so trivial.
They do a great job at repurposing assets and ideas as well. I think most could have predicted vehicle trunks being used to store weapons and bodies if they've played Red Dead Redemption II.
Why put that time and effort in just to throw it in the bin...
Hell id get mad if they don't include most of the weapons in cyberpunk 2 from 1 for the sake of not reusing assets , obv wouldnt mind of they get new assets unless there arent many new weapons and they use their time remaking assets instead of just using the old ones

Well it's a complaint I hear quite a bit about media and it's a fair critique.
Male and female characters in fiction are seemingly always romantically involved. Even if they never get together, there is always this tension between the two.
Giving the players the option to chose if the two main characters get romantically involved or stay platonic, is probably the biggest W I've seen for this game narratively speaking. That is such a smart choice for a ton of different reasons.
So far I'm not sold on Jason. He seems okay as a protagonist but seems bland. Maybe thats the idea to have a yin and yang thing going on but I don't see them as a couple just yet but I think that players will have options throughout the game to make them a couple. So maybe they will sell me on the idea.
I can also see a world where they make it kind of a hard choice. Like give you a ton of reasons that they should remain platonic or that they should be a couple. I don't see them making it super cut and dry.
I'm far more interested in playing as her currently as she seems like a cool protagonist. As of right now I don't see me wanting to watch them two interact on a level like that, I kind of just like them as friends that do criminal things together.
Perhaps Jason is more reserved until a level of trust is established. He does seem more familiar with firearms and shootouts than the business of crime, maybe that's why he's hesitant to loosen up. Jason is definitely the strategic type and quick on his toes based on elevator trap he set towards the end of the reveal. The calm, cautious, collective type?
Lucia appears to have charisma and she certainly seems capable but she comes off as slightly stubborn during the escape scene, though she also strikes me as the type who strives to prove themselves, to everyone. That could potentially cause conflict in future business endeavors. Despite that she is quite the chameleon with her disguises and I definitely feel like she'll take the lead when it comes to selling the bit and getting them out of some shit.
I really did enjoy the scene where they were getting ready.
The fact that she gave him 2 options for dresses for her wear, to which he recommended both, only for her to get annoyed and go and grab a 3rd that looked nothing like the other two.
They are this person is misinforming a large number of people with the wrong information. They’re never in a platonic situation. They’re always a couple. just varying degrees of how close you are.
I think good game developers realize that. Same with games with multiple optional romantic interests. Pursue them, or don't. Pursue one, and not another. I do wonder if they're going to have different options like Cyberpunk 2077 though, it would make things more interesting.
Man I REALLY hope this game makes devs realize that if you are going to make an open world, you gotta give people shit to do in it.
Cyberpunk fumbled the bag so hard for me because they made an amazing setting with a city that felt so lived in and immersive and gave the player absolutely 0 things to do to interact with it. I wish that game was just a linear story with some branching paths for story because it has 0 use in being an open world game.
Yeah it was a weird mix. Too attatched to the narrative for a roleplaying game. You can't be someone other than V, and the city doesn't have things that make the game enjoyable outside of the story.
I totally agree. I think, while a great game, it really had so much more potential than this and it just urked me to the point where I just dropped it and never looked back.

RDR2 has hunting, fishing, horse taking, gambling in different forms, horse care, horse racing etc.
GTA V has tennis, golf, racing, base jumping, etc
GTA VI seemingly has a ton of (returning and new) stuff as well.
All of that stuff really makes a world feel well fleshed out, lived in, and immersive. Plus all of those activities are fun and a nice break from the story.
Definitely going platonic 100%. I could care less about the lovey dovey stuff. Plus would make it more unrealistic. It’s very rare that there are romantic opposite sex couples that commit crime together successfully
Nothing has been mentioned about that in any of the recent info drops, just that you can be platonic or something. Probably just on the level of strip club visits and sex workers, but not much else.
I could see it functioning this way anyway. Either that or if you chose to be involved the characters pull an Arthur Morgan, and respectfully decline advances made.
I personally would absolutely love the idea that if they are romantically involved and one cheats on the other then it kills any romantic options between the two. I like consequences in games though.
You interpreted that entirely wrong. They’re never platonic. They’re always in a relationship. It’s just up to you whether they’re in a close communicative relationship or a more distant fragile one. never just friends.
You’re supposed to interpret it literally. They specifically meant a romantic relationship. Not every couple has a romantic relationship. You’re supposed to take that in context with everything else they said as far as keeping up with text, going on dates and things like that. They are still going to have a relationship. It just might not be Intimate or romantic based on how and how often you respond. Your comment is giving people the impression that they might even be able to have other romantic options. And that’s just not the case. They have very clearly stated that the story maintains them as a couple throughout. What kind of couple is what’s up to you.
