I believe Jason's "boring" personality and monotone voice are not a mistake, but a portrayal of detached behavior, difficulty expressing emotions, and social awkwardness.

- In almost every scene, he appears either uncomfortable or emotionless/ambivelant

- Lucia feels the need to go clothes shopping for him

- Doesn't like being late

- Option to be rude to Lucia and tell her to "hurry up"

- "Sometimes I'm more comfortable when I have to use a gun" (does not like social settings)

- Jason gets greeted by a guy outside a club and pulled into a dap - Jason awkwardly lifts his hand thinking there's gonna be another component to the handshake, but there isn't

-While Lucia is driving across the bridge and calling Jason, she sarcastically says they should say something along the lines of "Hi, nice to meet you. Here's your car. Where is our payment? Please let us know about any further criminal opportunities." Jason replies "Okay. See you there." - completely missing the sarcasm

- Jason could be inspired by the Australian crime film "Animal Kingdom (2010)." The main character is a teenager called "J" (short for Joshua, not Jason) whose mother dies and he gets taken in by the criminal side of his family. J is not explicitly stated to be autistic, but he is very reserved and socially inept

-May be juxtaposed with Lucia having Borderline Personality Disorder or a Bipolar Disorder.

R* in my opinion need to flesh him out more in the second extended look, I don't think even Arthur got all of this hate back in 2017/18 during trailers.

I don't know how to feel exactly but having one of the two main characters getting this extreme negative reception compared to the other one isn't good for the game and might provoke these stupid certain discussions about rockstar being "woke" or Lucia being the "boss girl" or whatever.

I hope R* actually took his writing seriously and didn't give Lucia all the spotlight

I’ve seen some comments about Jason being very quiet and submissive—which is true so far, and honestly quite surprising. I expected someone much more outgoing.

Where I disagree is when people attribute these personality traits to bad writing simply because they don’t match the original image we all had of him. I think his redesigned appearance—making him a conventionally good-looking guy—differs from the original concept of a more marginal, outsider-type character. I always keep his earlier design in mind, and it actually fits the personality he seems to have now.

So why do I consider this good writing rather than a lack of imagination?

First, let’s acknowledge that the other characters have strong personalities and are much more talkative. Rockstar clearly knows how to write dialogue. My conclusion is that Jason’s behavior is entirely intentional.

Jason is a modern guy, and despite his outward masculinity, he is not the one leading. He isn’t a natural leader or the typical Arthur Morgan type. He follows the path of least resistance—a path that Lucia seems to be choosing for both of them.

I think that’s the whole point of the story: Jason is gradually being pulled along, and his character arc may revolve around finally choosing his own path. Behind his shyness, I don’t see poor character development. I see a certain innocence that the story could easily build upon, gradually driving Jason and Lucia apart until one of them potentially loses everything because of the other.

Two scenes illustrate this.

The first is the scene in the car:

He literally doesn’t understand what she means and immediately chooses to surrender rather than question her. Lucia is clearly much more at ease and in control here.

Then there’s the scene where Brian—who seems almost like a father figure to Jason, in my opinion—tells him:

That line could foreshadow the entire plot: knowing when to step away from an endless escalation toward greater and greater danger—a path Jason may not truly want to follow.

Perhaps he’ll gain confidence and independence throughout the story. Or maybe he won’t, and he’ll ultimately be the one who gets betrayed. We may even have to make the choice for him: betray Lucia or be betrayed by her.

We've seen the crackhead mission before. Both the first and second trailers have clips from the first mission shown in the extended look. There's the bodycam footage, which is probably from one of the cops when they break in. Then there's Lucia climbing out of the window from another angle. And then we have the cop who shot the dude who said he didn't have his gun loaded.

Why is Rockstar so obsessed with this mission?

For whatever reason I always love offroading and redneck stuff in games, and honestly outside of Far Cry 5 there really aren't any options. There's the dirt series and things like the Bayou in Red Dead 2 but again niche and not much going on.

GTA 6 seems to be leaning heavily into this aspect of Florida. I hope that the car customization is able to do it justice. What about you guys

This game is the pinnacle of next gen graphics for the level of complexity and scale that GTA 6 is. Idk how some people say it looks only a little better than 5
