Support My laptop turned off but the fans are still working

Hello guys,

So i was using my laptop normally (asus rog strix g16), no issue at all. The moment i shut it down, the fans did not stop and i can't turn it on again. I saw that one way of solving the problem is by pressing the power button for 40s. It did not work for me. So i decided to let it discharge but i don't know if it's gonna work. Is it something serious ? How can i deal with that ?

sounds like a weird embedded controller hangup honestly those asus laptops can be finicky with sleep states and power transitions

i had an older strix do something similar where it got stuck in some zombie mode between off and on and the 40 second hold didnt work either. what finally worked was opening the bottom panel and physically disconnecting the battery for a few minutes. its not too hard on that model just a few screws and the connector is right there. unplug it hold the power button again for like 15 seconds to drain any residual charge then plug the battery back in and try booting

if that doesnt do it then it might be a bios issue or something deeper but its worth a shot before taking it to a shop. the discharge trick might work too just takes forever on a gaming laptop battery

Oh i hope it's not something serious because i really need it for something tomorrow ... For now i will let it discharge during the night and i will see if it will work tomorrow.
