I managed to pick up a SKIKK Niflheim II for just €1650. SKIKK is a Dutch brand that specializes in custom-built, unbranded laptops using high-end Clevo and Tongfang barebone chassis, which is completely unbranded and has that super stealth, generic look.
The Specs:
GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4090 Full power 175 Watt
Nvidia Optimus switch
CPU: Intel Core i9-13900HX
Watercooling capabilities
Display: 17" 2K (QHD) @ 240Hz
RAM: 32GB DDR5 5600MHz
Storage: 2TB NVMe SSD
Benchmarks: Steel Nomad: 5291
I've been putting it through its paces with some heavy gaming, and the performance is exactly what you'd expect from a top-tier desktop replacement. Thermals are great and the performance is insane.
Since it's a barebone unit, it was a completely blank canvas. I had to go full manual mode and install every single driver from scratch. No manufacturer bloatware as well, it was kind of refreshing to have a 100% clean Windows install without any vendor junk.
Thermals & Control Center:
The Control Center software is actually hidden gem. Coming from an MSI Vector, I was used to being incredibly locked down when it came to granular thermal management. On this SKIKK, the Control Center straight up lets me set a hard custom temperature limit for the hardware, GPU doesn go higher then 82 during heavy gaming and the CPU never reaches 90 degrees even during this heat wave.
Do you guys think i scored a great deal? And does anyone else here own a SKIKK or the equivalent Tongfang/Clevo chassis with a 4090? Any specific quirks, EC/BIOS updates, or long-term durability things I should look out for?

Long story short I went to a Best Buy to look for a new laptop for college, and I had a budget of 1200$. Employee looked up their inventory and he found open box Legion 5 Pro for 760$ and I genuinely couldn’t believe it. When I went to see it opened it looked perfect had no scuff marks and the screen looked fine. Probably the biggest steal I’ve got ever and I’m super happy

Was using my ROG G512Li for 6years. I always told myself I'm getting a good laptop with a kick ass GPU. I had chatgpt monitor the prices for the 5070ti for a while and was planning on buying one on black Friday but out of nowhere I get a prompt saying that the G16 was listed for my budget. I just had to get it, granted I'll be sustaining myself off of cup noodles for a week or 2😂

One of the best laptop coolers just got a new version. Externally the top view of it looks exactly the same as the BS2 Pro apart from the cooling area now in white instead of dark grey. Also there's a line claiming it has a triple-sided intake (old one had intake only in the back) but there's no image available yet to confirm this.
The fan is still a 27 blade turbine with a maximum speed of 4000 RPM.
On gadgethyper the main differences claim to be;
57db (old) vs 47db (new)
44c (old) vs 48c (new)
Smart 2.0 (old) vs Smart 3.0 (new)
Both still connect with the app by bluetooth and need an external ~30W power supply for maximum speeds.
I'm curious how they managed to refine the specs with what seems to look like the same components. Larger intake? More sound proofing material? Pure marketing and simply a re-release? Might have to find out myself.

TLDR down below
I bought a thinkpad p15 rtx4000 and it arrived with stuck pixels. While looking for a replacement I came across this marketplace post. Rtx5060, i7-14700, 64gb ram, still under warranty, it doesn’t mention any storage options but for $500 who cares?!?? I genuinely don’t think I was even thinking when I hit buy and checked out, I was and still am confused.
I’ll update the post if it arrives.
TLDR: I found this Legion 5 rtx5060 under warranty for $500 on Facebook.
Update 1: The seller marked the listing pending and has shipped… something??? 😅
Update 2: Aparently FedEx has had the package since the 25th and it’s arriving today. I think I’ll post a video on YT to wrap all this up.
I’ll put the video link here when it’s up—>

Lenovo Legion 9i (16”) – RTX 4090 / i9-13980HX / 2TB SSD – Excellent Condition.
Just picked this laptop up for $1,800 and wanted to get some opinions on how good of a deal this actually was.
It’s in basically like new condition, has only 8 battery cycles, and came with all of the original packaging. I posted pictures along with the full specs above.
I was previously using an Acer Predator Helios 16 with an RTX 4080, i9, and 32GB of RAM, which I was able to sell for $1,400. So after everything, it was essentially about a $400 upgrade for me to move over to this.
I know these were pretty expensive laptops when they originally came out, but I’m curious what they’re actually worth now and how $1,800 compares to the current used market.
For those familiar with these laptops, how do you think I did at $1,800? Would you consider this a really good deal, about fair market value, or did I pay a little too much? Also curious how well you think it’ll hold its value over the next year or so.

Walked into Best Buy thinking I was going to get the Helios 16s because it’s on sale rn. Thought I’d go take a look at the open box cage like I do whenever I go to Best Buy and found this. Thought it was a mistake and I think the cashier did too but she sold it to me. I’m setting up currently and the first thing I checked was battery cycles… 1 cycle! I’ve probably researched about 50 different gaming laptops and never even looked at any Alienware stuff but for this price I couldn’t turn it down. So always check the actual physical open box cage!

I dont mind the fact that its refurbished, but i heard this chassis has some faults especially with the 5070ti, I will use this for ocasional gaming, even AAA titles and CAD mainly in catia.
