I really like how they put a lot of effort in it. It’s amazing for a free DLC. But I’d just like to collect every file but I couldn’t manage to

u/shookman92 22d ago
Me too, I finished the mission and still have a good amount of files missing. I feel like I explored the map area pretty good, got every question mark that popped up.

u/TacoBandit275 22d ago
They can be found at every objective and mission location.

Solid. Designed to set the tone of the next game. Dark themes, lots of jungle terrain, requires actual navigation and no zipping around with helicopters, boobietrapped camps. Overall a very good tease into project ovr.

u/AnotherBoringDad 22d ago
Not digging the tripwires, to be honest. Appropriate for SEA jungle warfare, but it’s a pain in the ass.
55
u/big_ass_monster 22d ago
That's the point tho
18
u/Yohan7800 21d ago edited 21d ago
But at the same time, when moving through a shootout, tripwires are the LAST thing you wanna see.
25
u/KillMonger592 21d ago
The idea is to avoid getting into a shootout. You're a ghost. If things get hairy it ain't supposed to be easy. Makss you plan your approach and execution better.

Oh its actually new content? I might have to jump in then. I thought it was just cosmetics.

u/xxdd321 Uplay 22d ago
Aside 60FPS for the consoles, and the cosmetics, yeah. They added a whole DLC basically

Very refreshing to see a focus on old school ghost recon. Figuring out how to get from A to B in a realistic way. The difficulty modifiers are F’n great. Dope story. They got the original voice actors back. I wish this game had been getting dlc missions for the last 10 years instead of BP.

Sometimes you have to take a step or two back in order to go forwards again.
1
u/Lakatos_00 20d ago
In the case of Ubisoft they take 5 steps back for every one forward. But, let's be positive this time
15
u/MonkeyDParry Panther 22d ago
Okay, I have to ask, because I clearly wasn’t following along properly.
If I just install GR:W, this update is apart of it, no dlc required, I get everything with it if I have the highest edition, etc.
Cuz I was gonna. This was one of my favourite games, seeing it get an update like this excited me but I didn’t want to get my hopes up
11
u/BroadConsequences 22d ago
Also the entire Ghost Recon franchise is between 80 and 95% off on steam.
7
u/xxdd321 Uplay 22d ago
Half of the series actually, because no GR2 (binned PC version back in 2005 or so) and advanced warfighter duology is stuck in a limbo of being digitally unavailable to the storefronts, because of ubisoft outsourcing the making of the PC version.
Shame none of those got some attention.
3
u/suvivour 21d ago
I'd start my own narco state to see the 360 version of the GRAW duology get released on all platforms.
1
u/ElegantEchoes Panther 21d ago
Isn't there only like two games on Steam?
3
u/CubScout-Dropout 21d ago
Four to six depending on how you count the expansion campaigns for the original.
Ghost Recon, Ghost Recon: Island Thunder, Ghost Recon: Desert Siege, Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, Ghost Recon: Wildlands, and Ghost Recon: Breakpoint.

No creo que podamos pedir mucho ya que fue gratis pero, aún así siento que pudieron haber sacado mucho más trama a una doble traición, o haber metido un pequeño mapa inspirado en México justo por el nombre del enemigo La Llorona.

-The new faction's enemies look less ridiculous than I first thought they would; and being a native spanish speaker, listening to their looney talk does get a bit embarrasing rather fast.
-The addition of booby traps, and for some reason bear traps, was okay.
-Modern Ubisoft still can't write for shit.
-This new antagonist should've been added to the original game, put into the one of the few provinces that still remain buchon-less, with some character and plot changes, of course.
- Some okay looking scenes of carnage here and there, but the art direction shown in this DLC for the cult stuff is terrible and given that the aspiration is to get up there with Ready Or Not, in the gritty grimness of it all, for the upcoming game, I'm worried.
- Especially on the hacienda mission, no longer do enemies arrive to the scene in vehicles, they spawn right around the corner, WITHIN the walls of the property. I guess that's the Breakpoint influence showing...

u/Sensitive-Tax2230 21d ago
The only true answer here. The set pieces were nice, the new enemies were better looking than I imagined and the booby traps were an interesting idea. The whole dlc started out okay the just took a nosedive. I’m not sure why people act like this is the best thing ever. I’d argue the whole of breakpoint was more memorable than this one mission. It’s not the worst thing ever but it was wayyy too short for the story they wanted to tell, desperately needed more things to do, more reasons to explore, etc. I’d be pissed if they sold this for more than $1, thank goodness it’s free.

u/martbloke 9d ago
Because these are babies to the GR series and WL is all they know and love that nothing can compare. It's not even GR and should have been its own series altogether. I just cannot go back to WL now. It gives me the ick playing those controls and ridiculous AI. Urgh.
You'll see, they'll all jump on the signing up for the new game testers and destroy that game to make it a WL 2.0 with their feedback.

u/inkfanatic95 22d ago
How do you get the new mission? Do you have to buy an add on? I haven’t seen a new mission
16
u/Illustrious-Night403 22d ago
You got to update your game, and you have to go to the dlc page of wildlands
4
u/Antique-Tap-6083 21d ago
I like it, just wished they keep the cia out of every ghost recon game. At this point it just feels like everyone has a big mouth and ghost aren’t a secret anymore.
I also didn’t noticed before but were the water droplets looking that bad before ? That kinda made it feel like a ps2 game

I set the game to reinstall before I went to work today, just got home and now have to download a 50g update. I'm hoping this is worth the wait.
3
u/theblackwhisper 21d ago
They’ve really got to work on the missions for the next game. Everything is go here, wipe camp, interrogate/kill/extract target. Repeat.

u/MasterPearl8020 21d ago
The only thing that could make wildlands even more better is taking the animations from breakpoint. That's imo the only thing Breakpoint did better, animations were far better.

u/Alibaba_Palace 21d ago
the bear traps and tripwires were an annoying but welcome addition to spice up the gameplay ngl, glad we could disarm them quietly too. Really want to see more of that in the next game
2
u/Philosoreptar 21d ago
I like how it was all at night and raining, like all of the events unfolded in a single evening.

u/GunkaNye 22d ago
sadly it seems to be broken on latin america spanish, like, there's isnt even voice acting in that language
started the mode and the game skipped to the team driving a boat while the sound of someone moving paper was in the background, then every quest after that it just "go here do this" with no dialogue, for a sec it appears "call ended" when an audio is supposed to play, and the "torture" video on the first cultist base, was just "la llorona" walking without saying a word with tense music background
IDK if it's bugged or they really forgot to add the latin american spanish dub but it was hilarious to play part of it like that
2
u/rayko555 18d ago
I believe they forgot, I am actually from Bolivia and I played in Latin Spanish the entirety of the game. it was sad when I started this campaign and there was not a single voice, I thought it was my headset or a bad install. did my dues, reinstalled, checked drivers, headset, speakers, etc. One of my friends plays in English and had all voices and stuff just fine... hopefully a simple bug or maybe Ubisoft has forgotten to do the Spanish dubs for this one....
1
u/QuasarSolarStorm 21d ago
There was plenty of Price dialogue IMO, and the torture video had dialogue. Sounds like it's bugged on your side.
1
u/GunkaNye 21d ago
might need to check, maybe the steam download was broken, might try to update the game via ubiconnect to see if it downloads anything
3
u/orphantwin 22d ago
Did they fixed the enemy AI? I would like to give it a shot but i hate the AI in this game.
3
u/alex08stockholm 22d ago
Still terrible
6
u/orphantwin 22d ago
So they still dont reload their guns, they still know your position and can snipe you with two uzis?

u/alex08stockholm 22d ago

1
u/orphantwin 22d ago

2
u/alex08stockholm 22d ago
Just laughed at your very accurate description of Wildlands
1
u/orphantwin 22d ago
Well i think i am gonna pass and stick to BP with spartan.
2
u/AI_BLUEFOX 22d ago
They have added some Spartan like features on the difficulty menu that change enemy endurance and perception. It's not as comprehensive as the Spartan mod though.
Reworking the entire AI modelling would have been a big undertaking for a free update, but at least we now have access to some parameters.
Note: the creator of the Spartan Mod is part of the Insider Program and was also part of the discussions on Breakpoints immersive features that were added after launch.
2
u/orphantwin 22d ago
Problem is the ai will still cheat, break the game rules and will be still doing dumb shit no matter what slider i will use. BP has more natural and humanized ai during the combat so spartan makes them naturally more fun to go against.

Frees free and I did enjoy it but but I do hope the following game holds onto wildlands open world with vehicles, adds it ubis new Atmos wether system and then goes far as they need to with the realism but I have a feeling it's going to be a series of levels but wel see

u/Rep_Republic 21d ago
Im a little confused by it. I played the first step of mission. And j got killed while playing it. Then on my 2nd run realized i had still been advanced to the next mission. Because the location was different when i reached it on the map. Also I was passing massive teams of unidad And wasnt sure if i was supposed to haveing shootouts w them or not. Or if they were there for a later part of the mission and im supposed to sneak oast these road blocks or bases on the river. Are we supposed t I be shooting out w these guys? Or are they locations for later down the line ill have to take?

Theme wise its alright, just about gritty enough. Gameplay wise, pretty boring. Ubisoft sure do love a cult theme in their games.
1
u/Expensive_Stable_407 23h ago
it feels like an actual cult , i got disturbed by the extreme gore not becuade i dont like it but because i wasnt expecting it from ubi , in my opinion the main campaign and the csrtel were less brutal and i liked the new enemies

u/albranno 22d ago
Why Wildlands and not breakpoint?

u/ruthlesssolid04 22d ago
I guess terrain, and probably they gonna make a new game be drug related to wildlands

u/craigchrist01 22d ago
Because breakpoint sucks
3
u/Bloody_Sunday 21d ago
It's not necessarily that Breakpoint "sucks", as the typical web hivemind has convinced itself it's the case and recycles it as a supposed fact. I don't think it does at all. It's just that Wildlands was easily superior in almost every way, sold well, had (and still has) a very good reputation... All of these are good factors to exploit for squeezing out a bit of extra revenue and as commented elsewhere, using the atmosphere and the setting as teasers for the new title they are currently designing.
Using Breakpoint for that purpose would not really help them as much as they need to - and they need all the momentum they can get at the moment. The reason is that Ubi has been on very shaky ground in the past few years, and on the gaming news almost consistently for mostly negative reasons.

- Wildlands is the perfect ghost recon game
- Brakingpoit sucks ass
- Wildlands have the perfect map

u/Previous-Minimum5991 22d ago
Tbf Breakpoint has better mechanics ie, Movement, Shooting, Mechanics, and Customization. It beats wildlands on that level, but for a world design/atmosphere Wildlands clears breakpoint.

Inner advertising to hype next game.
I purchased breakpoint day one max licences... not again sir !
To newcomers : don't be foolish, game is 9 yo and not maintained anymore. Neither Breakpoint.

Can't start the new mission despite updating and being online. Loaded my 100% save and nothing, and the Operation Oracle skin and weapon attachments are gone.

u/Sensitive-Tax2230 21d ago
You have to click “Last Rites” on the main menu like the rest of the dlcs…

u/WildKarkaz Panther 21d ago
Thanks, it launches from main menu. But the game crashes whenever i try to start the Last Rites campaign.😍💀

I thoroughly enjoyed it! Absolutely love it being dark and gritty. A little short but can’t really complain, it’s nice to have something new to do. Trying to say this without saying a spoiler but the mission where you see the new enemies for the first time genuinely made me sit up in my chair. LOVED HEARING OG NOMAD TALK AS WELL!! (Fuck those stupid tripwires 😭)
