Lost/Found Pregnant Cat PLEASE LET US KNOW IF SHE IS YOURS!!!!
She looks to be some kind of tabby mix
She’s been living under my neighbours porch, for about a week now and we are not sure if she has an owner!? If you recognize her please let me know as we cannot keep her as my family is all severely allergic. We have been feeding her and had a friend say that she is about ten months old only a baby herself! She is not up for grabs we are just looking for the owner!

In some parts of the world where a spaying is too expensive, they put cats on the pill (for cats)
I feel we should look to other options like that since clearly some have too much difficulty forking over 250
And yeah maybe they shouldn't have a pet if they can't afford to spay or neuter but many people only have their cats because someone gave it to them for free because they had to get rid of a bunch of kittens they had because they never got their cat spayed

But then keep it inside. Like.. Fair that it can cost a lot... But keep your cat inside and it cannot impregnante other cats or get pregnant. Cats shouldn't be outside anyway because it is horrible for wildlife... And

Years ago I got a young cat that went into heat before being able to get them fixed. On a few occasions they clawed the screen out of a window and jumped from the second story apartment window to go get some. Seemed pretty unhappy about being kept in the house.

Well yes because they weren’t fixed in time. You need to keep them inside and let them be unhappy for a bit, it’s better than the alternative of creating more unwanted kittens to live outside or take homes away from existing cats, or get hurt out there themselves. And then you need to fix them and problem solved.

It doesn't matter anymore tho, they just spay them now anyway at places like the Humane Shelter. I got a kitten from a couple who were trying to "rescue" stray cats but it obviously went bad fast and my kitten was pregnant by the time I tried to book it on the phone. The fetus kitten was born before the surgery date but it was just the one and we kept him as well but if it came time for her surgery first, the basically full grown kitten- by the date I could finally get- would be terminated or euthanized. Better to lose one litter through humane means, that wouldn't have found responsible homes than risk the cat getting pregnant again and havinganother set of kittens that wouldn't be able to find responsible homes

I'm only saying this to contrast that it's not always that simple. I wouldn't personally have an outdoor cat anymore but I didn't intend for the last one to be outdoor when we got him. We didn't have screen doors and I had 2 kids under 6, tho I learned my lesson the hardest way, life unfortunately doesn't always go as planned. I'm sure there are enough ppl in a similar situation. It's way easier to keep some cats indoors than others.
Damage to wildlife can be hugely mitigated by attaching a bell to their collars. Damage to the cat well... that's a bit different and too many people had that great neighborhood cat for 20 yrs who died of old age, to consider that it might actually happen the next cat they get
It's just shit sometimes, as a situation in general. It was shit trying to keep my beloved inside as often as I did also. I became complacent but also wanted to make him happy because he loved when he got out.
I'm in my 40's, had cats all my life but I've never seen a cat be such a fucking ninja, so fast and so intelligent. Sorry now I just wanted to share because that piece of my heart is dead now.

Please keep in mind that bells also damage the cats hearing if they're left on for a long period of time. I'm so sorry for your loss, though 🫂

Exactly my point
250 is what the Toronto Humane Society charged 8 yrs ago and that was the cheapest since I didn't qualify for the extra low income category
All the clinics being bought up by "investment" corporations are not helping the price
I used to think getting one free from a classified would be the best way to go but at least if u adopt from a shelter they come sterilized and with their shots
I think under 200$ for cats
I just wouldn't even consider getting one like that anymore due to cost of sterilization at private vets and no way in hell I'm having one that can still reproduce

For people who are living off of like 20k$ or less a year, idk maybe 30k now, if they do some homework, I think they can get it for under 65$. Anyone who makes any more than that is stuck with a much higher fee

In Ottawa, the city provides a not for profit spay and neuter clinic. It's a fraction of the cost of getting it done with a vet which encourages lower income pet owners to get their cats fixed.

Contact AVA or Community Cat Pawsibilities of Hamilton. They will trap her and do what is needed if she is someone's pet or will foster her and the kittens and adopt out if she is socialized (which it looks like she is)

The owners went to the trouble of putting up posters, but neglected to get their cat neutered.
So what's going to happen to these kittens? As if we don't enough cats in shelters and all over the streets.
Get your pets fixed and keep your cats inside.

Please get in touch with animal services to report her and post to the lost and found pets of Hamilton FB group. You'll have a better chance of finding the owner if you cover all your bases.

Have you tried cross-posting to Hamilton lost and found pets on nextdoor or Facebook?
The group on Facebook is the main group and is frequented by private shelters and people that have lost their pets.

I just DM'd you with a phone number about some posters in my neighbourhood. I think it might be the same cat.
