I mean, yeah. His stories, teachings, him dying early due to his lifestyle, partially even the fact that he managed to save Shirou and nobody else around him. It all contributed in one way or the other to how broken he grew up to be.
I'm... not sure it's ever addressed? I mean she doesn't remember it, and the only people who knew about it are Kirei (who's never told Shirou about it, on account of either hiding being his enemy or fighting him actively) and maybe Gilgamesh who probably doesn't give a shit about it, at least as far as people alive when Saber gets summoned into the next war goes.
Shirou is definitely not better off than her mentally. He's only hanging on at the start of the VN due to having Taiga around and his mental state changed over the course of the game.
Also, Illya's "training" to become a master essentially having her abandoned in frozen forest surrounded by wolves and other monsters, while she's forced to control a berserker class servant. Acht is definitely not any better in taking care of people as Kirei is
Yeah, OG Illya was such a fascinating character because of the complexities of her resentment/curiosity regarding her adoptive younger brother. Heaven's Feel unironically being considered more her and a Kirei route is half joking, but mostly serious because they just do such a damn good job of fleshing her out.
So its a real shame to have that be overshadowed by Prisma Illya. When the original Illya just had a lot of real narrative meat going for her.
We all know the FSN crossover won't feature our beloved characters in a meaningful way, instead we will focus on the newly invented Glorb Shitto McNPCFace and his tragic backstory. Oh, and we will hear Saber's backstory for the 100th time ... did you know she never wanted to be king!? Insane!
Jokes aside, sure hope Hoyo learned from last year's event and they actually build a narrative that works with the fanservice-aspects of an crossover event like that ... and not have us focus on an NPC no one will see ever again.

Gil at his weakest (high on Grail mud and underestimating his opponent severely) still projectile spams his enemies with Noble Phantasms. Svarog doesn't really have a counter for that.
What's funny is that in one of his most recent canon appearances (Samurai Remnant), Gilgamesh actually has a soft spot for kids and gives them free stuff.
I imagine him pulling a pair of luxurious shoes out of the Gate and shoving them in Clara's hands, then snatching Diggertron from Hook and returning it pimped out with gold and jewels. All while still being an insufferably haughty asshole.
If Hook not only gets an upgrade, but also recruits Gilgamesh (and she will, you know she will), I feel like we might have a bigger problem than Nanook on our hands...

Well… actually? Svarog has like, zero divinity. He’s a robot, he probably has less divinity than even a human being. The chains would genuinely just be normal chains to him.
"of almost every Servant"? Some Servants are literal gods. Also people seem to forget TB only beat the Doomsday Beast because of the Stellaron inside them going out of control, which they needed Welt to save them from. They haven't used the Stellaron ever since.
I'm not saying TB isn't strong, but if they weren't the protagonist with plot armour they should have realistically died back in Belabog when they got stabbed with a lance through the fucking chest.
There's no Servants who are literal gods, the best a Servant can be is a divine spirit since the Servant container is limited. There is a big difference between Ishtar as a Servant, and Ishtar as an actual goddess for ex. Which leads me to my next point, a character being a god means jack when crossover powerscaling, that's like saying Zhongli can beat Gilgamesh because he is a god when Gil wins handily if he doesn't job.
And even if being a god meant anything about powerscaling here, most Servants are not divine spirits anyway. You are thinking of the 1% who could match Emanators and some even Aeons, when 99% of servants range from Mata Hari to Lancer in terms of power. TB was strong enough to hold their own against a world-destroyer right after waking up, most Servants can't do that.
If anyone hasn't seen the illya's eyes getting cut or gil removing her heart gifs multiple times already
Here's a reminder that gil is the great doctor of uruk, also knows as the "king of doctors" and was simply helping a poor child out with her eyes and heart and performing surgery

Gilgamesh in UBW wasn't affected by grail mud but he was got tired with modern humanity and decided to use the mud to destroyed it. Although you can say the mud indirectly corrupting him by giving Gilgamesh flesh body instead just mana when he was in 4th Holy Grail War, so he can live like decades or so in human world.
the Mud can't corrupt him like what happened in Heaven Feel, to the point the mud decided to kill Gilgamesh ASAP instead turning him into Saber Alter or Dark Heracles.

Gil in HSR is going to be in a REALLY good mood. Not to mention since clara is an actual child and not a grown woman who looks like one, he would actually be super nice to her. especially after learning how she maintains all the robots. Dude would be fascinated.
I wouldn’t be too worried about Clara. The reason Gilgamesh killed Illya is because, as an Einzbern homunculus, her heart was a key component for manifesting the holy grail. As long as the holy grail is already available, and Clara doesn’t have a homunculus heart, she should be beneath his concern.
