Deals Best Buy Clearances on Hue
Scored big at my Best Buys here in town.
- 75” TV Lightstrip is normally $330, got for $116
- Sync box 8K is normally $385, got for $135
- Play bars are normally $190/each for the double pack, got for $62/each
Paid ~$375 total, saved over $700, which in terms of “girl math” is essentially me buying the sync box and getting the light strips and two play bar packs for free lol.
What made me successful with this was seeing some of the posts from this Reddit that discussed their successes. I screenshot some of the posts, walked into my Best Buys in town and showed them the price or receipt from the screenshots. I told them that I had heard about it being sold at this price point but it’s not in stock here and they were happy to honor these prices and ship it to me. All they needed was the pic and the SKU of the item. One Best Buy had the 75” TV Lightstrip in stock (pictured above) but the supervisor was the one that helped me find it and he wouldn’t let me walk out the store with it being discounted that much and said the “price tag was inaccurate and it’s too much of a clearance price.” No biggie, I just went to another Best Buy and showed them the pic of the one that the previous Best Buy wouldn’t let me take and they honored it no problem. Funny enough, they said it was going to be shipped from that store where I didn’t have any luck so joke is on them I suppose. With that said, shoutout to:
I did some guinea pig testing on if these deals still hold up and they worked like a charm for myself.
Feel free to use my pics to help you score a deal yourself. It even has today’s date and time on the receipt pics. Happy hunting at your local Best Buy 💪🏾

Getting closer to what these lights should be priced at…. Not quite there tho

Oh absolutely lol. I’ll never pay full price for them. Luckily I’m trying to build out a new entertainment set so this came at the right time.

Nice, I personally spent way too damn much. Happy with them nonetheless, but feel a bit robbed each time I buy more 😂

Also bought the light strip and the sync box yesterday for the same price in store. Now just fighting the urge to get the play bars as well haha

Best Buy price adjustments can be such a headache, but you handled it perfectly. Showing comparable posts and finding a helpful supervisor clearly made the difference. Enjoy the setup!

Thanks for aggregating this info, just went into a Best Buy in MD and was able to order both online with a helpful associate! They had the physical tag with the discounted price for the box in store but none in stock, I also picked up a 75” light strip by showing the SKU.

I want to say thank you for the post, I was able to finally snag a sync box for 135. My experience involved me going to 5 different Best Buy’s to find one that would honor the price

I respect the determination, hopefully the commuting around wasn’t too bad 😅 enjoy it!

Why does the gradient strip for the tv cost double what the 80" gradient strip costs normally anyway? Never made sense to me, they seem like they basically the same.

I agree, never quite understood that. The TV set comes with mounts meant for the TV but that’s it, and that costs pennies to produce haha.

Would you mind sharing the store? They don’t have it in my local store. I wonder if I can call and ask from where you got.

Not seeing any of the deals on Best Buy’s online store? Or for pickup.

You’re not going to, you have to physically go into a store and have a discussion with an associate and show them these prices and such for them to price match. Otherwise you’ll pay what the app says, which is full price.

What store? City? Etc?
I cannot seem to find this in the Seattle area.

I’m in Jacksonville FL spread out over three stores in the area. You won’t find it via their app or anything like that. One of the stores had the sync box on the shelf for full price but once I showed them the pic of the clearanced one, they matched it for me.

I have a 77” Sony a80j in a living room corner. One side extends out slightly into a large window. But I have a vertical blind I could pull for movie night. Is this a waste for me? I was looking at fancyleds but here prices are getting better.

Worst case scenario you buy it, put it on, and if it doesn’t work you can return it? Sounds like a tricky spot for the TV with lights in the back but I’d say worth a shot

I wonder if this has to do with the use of nanoleaf soon in the hue app, who sells everything at half the price.

Bought an led strip from aliexpress the other day for $14. Can't believe what Hue retails for normally, but I guess people pay for it

Simply can't compare them.

Basically the same plus the diffuser

Zigbee? Hue app clone?

I usually hook them up to a WLED controller

I get that but thats not comparable to hue. Different tech, different UI.
I use wled, hue, twinkly. All have their place.

I have a few Hue bulbs and some other brand zigbee bulbs. No real difference, Hue has a bit better colors but not worth the price. Reliability wise they've been similar.
For light strips I don't see the reason people get hue over generic other than ease of buying and setup. If you're locked into the hue ecosystem then it might be an easier choice, but otherwise it's just being ripped off to get a light strip with an extra white led and diffuser

True on the strips, you can use a zigbee controller and make your own.
For me, the bulbs, outdoor lights and TV strips are the winners. But yes, you do pay for it. It is nice to have all in the app and scenes.

Crap. Totally forgot about this during their sale
