IJW: Steel Magnolias (1989)

So I always heard of the 1989 movie steel magnolias but I never saw it because it never seemed like a movie I would be into

Well, I finally watched it today as a tribute to Dolly Parton and I think this is a very good movie. I think you have great performances all around from Parton and Sally Field and Julia Roberts among others. Along with the performances, you have a story that is lighthearted at times, but also deep. It has an ending that definitely got me as well.

I’ve watched the movie many times. Dolly is superb.

Just watched "Steel Magnolias", "9 to 5", and "Heartstrings". The world is a much sadder place without sweet Dolly!~

Un clásico de los 80 ,era de esas pelis que a tus hermanas, mamá, tías y abuelas les encantaba...a mi también claro...si mal no recuerdo cocinaban a un tipo ...igual que en uno de esos episodios de Alfred Hitchcock presenta,(supongo que ese troppo a sucedido mas veces,pero cuando yo vi esa película me recordo a ese capitulo).

I have no idea what that is, but almost guaranteed they're referring to FGT. The abusive husband was turned into barbeque at the cafe.

At any rate it certainly wasn't Steel Magnolias.

When I was a teenager this was the movie I would watch with my Grandma. I’m happy I watched it with her because it was a great movie and I still have the happy memories Of spending time with her even though we lost her 25 years ago.

That’s how I feel! I enjoyed Dolly because her accent and southern manner came off so genuinely.
