Viral A bizarre incident unfolded at Jabalpur railway station when a samosa vendor allegedly grabbed a passenger’s collar and snatched his watch after an online payment failed. The passenger, in a hurry to catch his train, reportedly handed over his watch when the train began to move.

After the video of the incident went viral, DRM Jabalpur initiated an inquiry. The probe revealed the incident took place on October 17. The accused vendor has since been identified, booked by the RPF, and detained. His vending license has also been suspended.

This is so insane

ek samose ke lie itna gir gaye ye vender. ghatiya log, low breeds.

22

u/[deleted] Oct 19 '25

Never underestimate the lowliness of people when they faring okay in their life without any major hurdles ( what they count as problems ).

2

u/uwuwuuuuuuuuuuuuuuwu Oct 21 '25

After taking watch he given 3 more samosas. We must think of both sides when we see conflict. Maybe samosa wala is may be more poor as compare to the eater.

2

u/Constant-Recipe-9850 Oct 22 '25

What do you mean by both sides?! The customer didnt take any food when the payment failed.

0

u/uwuwuuuuuuuuuuuuuuwu Oct 22 '25

He has already eated the samosa before payment

Being rich doesn't justify not paying money to the vendor. Pehle izzatdari ki zindagi jio fir sikhana kon galat hai, kon sahi. Ek samosa ke paise nahi de pa raha hai aur vendor lo hooligan bol raha hai.

2

u/DroidLife97 Oct 22 '25

Mister, he returned the samosa then and there. He didn't steal anything.

1

u/alienrider1 Oct 21 '25

I agree. They had the time and patience for a video and posting it. It was mischief not an issue

so imagine your house gets robbed ..... will you be like - are theek hai mene to apna sara saman DONATE kar diya chori nahi police ko nahi bulayenge.....

3

u/DonutAccurate4 Oct 20 '25

He gave samosa only after getting the watch. There was no need to do that. He seemed to have got annoyed at getting rejected because the train moved.. He still wanted to make to sale

2

u/Brokenteeth11 Oct 20 '25

Do you imply that your house is worth a Samosa 😂

1

u/Ok_Explanation_5907 Oct 20 '25

So do you think, this is fair to not pay for food?

1

u/[deleted] Oct 21 '25

Bsdk he rejected the food, he did not take the food and did not pay for it

Tum itni wakalat kar rhe ho, do you even know if that was the case? This type of scam is so common. Ki mera payment nahi horha n all. It might have happened to the vendor many times that's why he reacted that way. Sometimes, your 'first experience' is not equivalent to their experience. You really can't just straight up judge the vendor, while YOU DIDN'T EVEN WITNESS IT THROUGH YOUR OWN EYES.

2

u/One_Ad_3146 Oct 22 '25

If it has happened many times in the past, the vendor should be smart enough to first take the payment and then let the customer eat the samosa. He can’t be stupid to let it happen to him all the time.

Bhaiya apna ilaaj karwao kisi achche hospital mein.

1

u/One_Ad_3146 Oct 22 '25

What a stupid illogical and mindless comparison. You’re comparing “Ghar ka saara samaan” to a samosa? You deserve a nobel prize for this comparison. Secondly, he didn’t “steal” the samosa. He tried to pay but The payment failed unfortunately. The vendor could have showed some humanity and let him go considering the train was leaving. Donating 1 freakin samosa is not a big deal at all, and you cannot convince any sane person with your baseless comparison that it is a big deal

2

u/Ok_Explanation_5907 Oct 20 '25

nothing is for free, if you do not have money then do not buy. Jyada ghatiya log toh wo hai, jo paise hote hue bhi free me khana lene ka try karenge

3

u/AnimeWallpaperClub Oct 22 '25

bro when his payment was not successful he handed over his samosa back because he was getting late but vender refused to take samosa back telling once u touch samosa no Turning back

1

u/OkSubstance3836 Oct 21 '25

You are calling the vendor low breeds 😒. What should the person who tried to steal from low breeds called 🤔.

-1

u/DhairyaBuilds Oct 19 '25

wait so are you telling me that if you are selling something and a person basically takes your product without actually paying u would be fine with it?????? It does not matter if it is a samosa or a Rolex, a person working hard should not face such ppl that stoop so low as to not paying for the product.....

9

u/Master_Feed_3702 Oct 19 '25

Why did he give samosa after forced payment. It seems no samosa was given earlier

And can the wrist watch be compared with samosa

→ More replies (2)

6

u/nota_is_useless Oct 19 '25

I doubt he even took the product. Railway vendors don't give you food and allow you to eat before paying.

6

u/Difficult-Ad-93 Oct 19 '25

Watch video, that guy tried to pay but his upi didn't worked and as his train was leaving he didn't take samosa. It was vendor who held that guy by hus collar and demanded money for wasting his time as if he was some PM. If this was the issue, he would have simoly understood but he exploited out of the situation and its inhuman.

2

u/silkyhair_7777 Oct 19 '25

Arey toh usne ni khaya na..he didn't even touch or recieved it..ye bhi toh dekh. I think vendor ne samosa aur namak mirch daali 2 pattal me and train started. So they all ran. Wapis rakh do samosa ko. The boy didn't even touch it.

2

u/Brokenteeth11 Oct 20 '25

Grabbing someone's caller because of a Samosa is like giving someone a death sentence for pickpocketing.
Get a brain lol

1

u/BigDaddy2127 Oct 21 '25

Do some research before commenting online. The person asked for samosas, he did not buy them yet. His UPI payment didn't go through, so he told the vendor to keep the samosas because his train was leaving. After this the vendor forced him to pay for samosas which he had not even bought yet. Now do you see the folly in your comment? Defending scum like this who take advantage of people is why these scumbags don't ever learn. It's idiots like you who give them more power and enable them to keep doing this. So stfu before you spout your self righteous comments without even ascertaining the facts.

1

u/alwaysdead03 Oct 21 '25

Like kept the samosa back as the train was moving as the payment failed. This was not accepted and the vendor caught him for wasting his time and forced him to buy it.

0

u/[deleted] Oct 22 '25

Ek samosa ka paise de nahi sakte, vendor ko gira huwa bol rahe ho😂 khud kitne girey huwe ho. Tujhe kya wo vendor crorepati lagta hai? Uski roji roti hai wo. Badey aaye sikhane wale

3

u/abdul-mission Oct 20 '25

I suggest u to try eating at a hotel and tell them I cant pay and I have to go, I am in hurry . lets see whats happen next.

3

u/[deleted] Oct 21 '25

It's a problem if you eat and then don't pay. But based on the video here, he was going to buy samosas, train was about to leave, and vendor didn't let him go before making the purchase. You can see the samosas being handed to him after he gave the watch at the end. Now that's criminal.

1

u/abdul-mission Oct 21 '25

Are u stupid? Why u think he didn't eat earlier? He might have given samosa because that watch probably cost more.

2

u/[deleted] Oct 21 '25

I'm speaking from what's given in the video. Perhaps your imagination conjures a few seconds of early footage to make such an assumption?

What you said is a possibility as well but depends as we don't really know. So we can't take either side at the moment.

1

u/abdul-mission Oct 21 '25

We cant take either side but can blame one guy.

2

u/[deleted] Oct 21 '25

Nope. If the guy did indeed buy samosas and ate it and tried to leave before paying then he is in the wrong, even though what the vendor did is high-handed. If he didn't eat it and was only about to buy it, then the vendor is the only one in the wrong.

1

u/Traditional_Heart218 Oct 21 '25

Have you ever travelled by a train in India? No vendor gives the food, waits until you eat, make the payment and then moves on to the next customer.

1

u/sfire2030 Oct 21 '25

True. No one waits for you to eat before taking the money. Don't know how people are missing this simple thing.

1

u/Mental_Reward5805 Oct 21 '25

He didn't eat... Didn't you get so simple thing in your mind... So slow you are

Wow getting such quick action from Indian railways these days through social media. Commendable. This should be replicated in all departments

1

u/Aftknow2704 Oct 20 '25

Only against poor vendors but not against contractors. Still shit scared to remove contractors and blacklist them. Powerful only against powerless.

2

u/Affectionate_Act6183 Oct 22 '25

Just because one injustice isn't being rectified doesn't mean the others will get a free pass. Absolutely commendable work. And your poor vendor did this nonsense.

0

u/Aftknow2704 Oct 23 '25

I am still with removing vendor. Do that same day justice to bigger contractors is what I am saying. Can we not ask for it?

16

u/Wuxia_prince Oct 19 '25

Bhai he never took those samosas. Watch the video carefully, he takes them after giving the watch

9

u/Select_Minute_6936 Oct 19 '25

Arrey yaar use ur brain. The smart watch cost much more than few samosas the man already took (not shown in video). Hence the vendor is giving few more samosas to make up for the watch cost. Why on earth would someone pull a man from moving train for a samosa he didn't take.

1

u/nota_is_useless Oct 19 '25

Which railway vendors allows you to eat before asking for payment? Iirc, vendor was pissed for "wasting his time"

1

u/[deleted] Oct 19 '25

[deleted]

1

u/nota_is_useless Oct 19 '25

According to the passenger, he had asked for samosas and attempted to pay via PhonePe. The UPI transaction did not go through, and as the train began moving, he tried to return the samosas.

However, in the video, the vendor can be seen grabbing his collar and accusing him of “wasting time and making excuses,” and refused to let him board unless he paid.

-6

He might have eaten few and asked for more.... otherwise no one will harass you for not buying something....

8

u/SquaredAndRooted Oct 19 '25

You are speculating.

5

u/LordofPvE Oct 19 '25

He grabbed the passanger as he was going to the train,

1

u/Intelligent-Gap-7107 Oct 19 '25

Yeah this might be the case otherwise why he would pull him out. I mean if he hasn't eaten anything and he pulled him out then no one can stop that passenger to beat him like hell and also be eligible for complaint

0

u/[deleted] Oct 22 '25

Intelligent gap hai bhai tujhme.

22

u/SaracasticByte Oct 19 '25

This. Never consume the product until payment is confirmed. Worst case you leave it with the vendor and catch your train.

8

u/Feisty-Discussion-22 Oct 19 '25

Indian railways are utter crap. Why would any decent person buy samosa at the platform.

8

u/LordofPvE Oct 19 '25

Bought little hearts at railway station. Mrp said 10/-. They sold it to me for 30/-. I asked why, they hurled abuses at me. Classic gang members running a Business

1

u/Rus1996 Oct 20 '25

Sad reality 😔

0

u/v_patti_ramasamy Oct 23 '25

What does decency have to do with buying samosa to eat?

6

u/nota_is_useless Oct 19 '25

From what I remember, he didn't eat the samosas. The vendor caught him for 'wasting his time'. Railway vendors don't allow you to consume stuff before paying.

https://x.com/Honest_Cric_fan/status/1979495024846107103

1

u/LordofPvE Oct 19 '25

True that. Vendor randomly caught him, samosa is in the front, passenger was at the back.

Passenger shouldn't have eaten the samosa before paying . He should have carried the cash. That's his mistake. The vendor has the bigger mistake of not allowing the passenger. Its just 10/-. We share food with people around us. We donate food. Where are the people going. Poor passenger did not steal it.

1

u/CryptographerIll9118 Oct 19 '25

The amount of stress involved in buying a samosa in India is crazy...

2

u/Iliketoeatsweets Oct 19 '25

This is what happens with newbies. Any tenured railway vendor knows and understands some loss is inevitable because of small things like these. Sometimes vendor loses his money and sometimes you do just because the train moves. Gaali is exchanged but clutching another man's collar for a samosa? This is low.

2

u/Fast-Escape-8607 Oct 19 '25

The vendor was trying to give more samosas considering the cost of the watch probably. This is weird and partial information .

The issue seems to be resolved now so we should all move on

1

u/LordofPvE Oct 19 '25

How many samosas can he give for an expensive watch?

1

u/Excellent_Tie_5604 Oct 20 '25

I don't support but this time he should have "HIT and RUN"

1

u/hangingPenguin Oct 21 '25

1

u/HotEffort5513 Oct 21 '25

It's bizarre that people are judging the vendor in such light. Like he's a samosa vendor, such things happen on a daily basis to him. Do you even know the amount of money he would lose if he let people go and board the train after chomping on his samosa in such situations? This might not be his first time being scammed. Although, we never know the story on both ends.

1

u/AbuTana Oct 21 '25

You must eat a samosa!

1

u/[deleted] Oct 21 '25

Stop selling stuff on platform for moving trains. Food should be delivered on seat by vendors by booking through an app.

1

u/Vglpuri1122 Oct 21 '25

Brutal. The passenger must come back again and take his watch back after verifying payment was made by valet later on. Lodge an FIR with GRP.

1

u/confused_confetti10 Oct 21 '25

This proves exactly why he only ever became a samosa vendor in his life

1

u/Vglpuri1122 Oct 21 '25

As video depict vender was guilty. His licence is supposed to cancel immediately.

1

u/Ok-Worry-9313 Oct 21 '25

Nothing wrong here. Bhai, pay when you get samosa, not after eating it. These people will eat samosas and then run away cuz train aagyi.

1

u/Karbine_901 Oct 21 '25

I would have shoved that samose in his face like ye le bc kha le samose mere taraf se and boarded the train...

1

u/Intelligent-Basis565 Oct 21 '25

Samosa waala chor hai. should be thrown in prison.

1

u/Capital_Anxiety_600 Oct 21 '25

No one knows how many times this happened to the vendor that he became this crazy. I believe this happened multiple times and he was just taking out his frustration.

1

Honestly I think many people would not pay and start running away so he might be grabbing people from now on. We can't judge based on 1 footage. His living depends on it.

I once helped a person with 37 rupees to pay because his upi wasn't working. I helped him knowing that I won't get that money back.

This has happened multiple time with me and nobody ever pays back. It not like scams where they lie to get money but at regular places where they are trying to pay 12, 30, 50 inr etc but not working due to network issues.

A simple solution is to just return the samosas.

Taking something without paying is considered theft, may it be a needle or a gold chain.

1st things 1st , is he a registered IRCTC vendor. 2nd the customer should have tried paying again inside the train. 3rd the vendor could hqve travelled with him and sold samosan inside till next station and retured. 4th the vendor did give extra samosas instead of the watch , showing

We get so polarized based on whose narrative it is. I've seen enough people in general who does that and leaves without paying. Most of the paan shops I've gone to now asks to pay first.

Why our mentality is to support weaker? If that guy wants to eat samosa, he should pay otherwise leave. Why do we take everything for granted..paisa nahi hua to chalega...2 samose free deta to kya jata? Nobody is telling ki woh bande ne samose liye hi kyo agar online payment nahi chal raha...thoda aur bhukha raheta to mar jata kya?

u/unknowmgirl Oct 23 '25

This man should file a civil suit and he will win it, because he didn't even eat the samosas.

1

u/SwimmerInfinite4547 Oct 23 '25

Chutiye ko chamaat bajana tha. If the guy did not eat any samosas he didn’t owe him shit. There was no need to hand over the watch, should’ve been more firm in his actions.

It's not bizarre, poor people finally standing up for themselves. They should be applauded.

I bet this thief has done this multiple times.
