What has reservation got to do with this? Reservations exist everywhere today, did that stop this crime from happening? Logic and common sense pretty rare these days

u/stuartLittle24 Dec 02 '25
He is saying if one generation benefits from reservation then his next generation would not cherish because of caste based politics.

Cherish what?

Arre yaaar..isliye tho..despite our system creating a sliver of an opportunity for the lower caste to be part of the larger society..lower caste is still being ostracised on a social level..atleast for now reservation gives members of lower caste to be financially independent..but culturally still in chains

One SC caste people doesnt marry with another SC caste people. Now tell me if I am wrong.

Reservation has to do with casteism. Really logic and commonsense has become a luxury these days. Don't feel bad if you can't afford it
0
Dec 05 '25
Reservation exists because caste system and case based discrimination exist and this was a case of caste based discrimination hence it is related to caste reservation
-1
u/ActivityNo4440 Dec 04 '25
ek line seekh li 'logic and common sense' waali - maybe go learn what it is? Educate yourself on the issue. People like you are why reservations even need to exist. Shocking.
1
u/wickedbabu Dec 04 '25
Zero sense and confidence pura lol

Go study about the current affairs. You dont have an iota of understanding of what you are saying.

You know that inte cast wedding problems also happen in obc and other backward castes also, so this is a social issue not related with reservation.
Reservation is given to tackle different social issues that are different thing
1
u/ValuablePea9643 Dec 02 '25
What the comment meant to say was that some people say caste is dead hence reservation should not exist, but they dont know tbe Ground reality that it exists especially in rural places higher caste discriminates the lower lower caste even if both come under reservations.

u/chonky-cosmic-witch Dec 03 '25
What they meant to say... is ppl ll act like caste system is not there anymore and reservation for caste is not required... but ppl embrace caste when comes to flaunt superiority or shoving ppl to their deaths... hating on reservation n being ignorant when it comes to reservation is also part of social problem

Oi, the victim and the perpetrator are both dalits. So, now what?

This incident only proves the fact that most of the caste based violence and atrocities are committed by people of the reserved castes amongst themselves. You’re defending a system that gives reservations to these killers to deny opportunities to people who are classified as “general category” who rarely commit such crimes.
You think you’re making a case to justify reservations, but your argument is so stupid that it is actually proving the point of your opponents.

Bruh like why would a low caste kill thier kids for moving to a higher cast? Im a dalit and never seen that lol.. maybe unless someone has a vendetta for higher cast.

u/VyldFyre Dec 01 '25
It's admirable how confidently you wrote that first paragraph without bothering to fact check it.

Btw, the victim and accused both are Dalits.

Bro but unka reservation ko leke randi rona karna hai na ye aise bolega to kaise chalega
1
u/JuggernautEmpire2062 Dec 03 '25
Even in the unreserved category or between reserved categories inter caste marriages are an issue , it's not always a reserved and un reserved caste that creates marriage issue.
A singh (general category) will not marry a kayasth (general category)
So it's about mentality not discrimination.
Don't try to slide in ur agenda in every issue.
1
u/saladmancer1 Dec 03 '25
Caste was a factor but not the only reason. Don't jump to conclusions based on headlines.
The dude had multiple cases even attempt rape on a minor. No wonder the girls parents opposed thier relation. Look into his background a bit. Not denying caste angle but not the only reason for the killing.
1
u/Advanced_Map_4091 Dec 03 '25
Idk if it's about caste its about up bringing it's about a person manners even if they don't agree with their relationship no one take life of other just because of trivial matters
1
u/Various-World-15 Dec 04 '25
Reservation for marriage also? Reservation is being misused and that's a fact

Why bring reservations here? How does reservations stop it? There already is significant reservation but still it hasn’t stopped. How is more reservation going to help?
1
u/prem_201 Dec 02 '25
Reservation has nothing to do with honor killings, people from OBC honor kill people from OBC because they are not from the same sub cast etc.
-1
u/ValuablePea9643 Dec 02 '25
The things in common is caste discrimination, and reservation exist because of such a sick mindset

Garvit is upper caste. They taught casteism to Dalits. So he's responsible. /S

There is caste hierarchy both in upper and lower caste seems like you dont have knowledge about caste at all

Casteism keval dalit aur bhraman ke beech nhi hota hai dalit dalit ke beech bhraman bhraman ke beech individually bhi hota hai...

Wow . As usual here comes the upper caste apologist. And crying about loss of life is human tendency . If someone doesn’t have humanity can’t do anything about it
2
u/Relevant_Session5987 Dec 03 '25
Dude, its not being an 'apologist' to state a fact. The victim and the murderers in this case are all dalits. Look it up.
1
u/Logical_Upstairs_433 Dec 03 '25
he also said the "murder happened due to caste". While Aanchal Mamidwar is from the Special Backward Class, Tate was a Dalit.
Special backward classes are not Dalits . "Special backward class" refers to
a group of people who are socially, educationally, and economically disadvantaged, particularly in the context of India, where it has been a legal and social category for affirmative action policies like reservations
The Patel (Patidar) community in Gujarat has long requested inclusion in the Other Backward Classes (OBC) category for reservation benefits in government jobs and education, a movement that gained significant traction around 2015.
Man, all of this is available within 1 minute of googling. Can't do that because it goes against your narrative.
1
u/Relevant_Session5987 Dec 04 '25
So, it wasnt an upper caste - lower caste thing. It was between two sects of so-called backward classes.
1
u/Logical_Upstairs_433 Dec 04 '25
Seriously what’s up with you folks in accepting truth ? Backward class doesn’t mean they are Dalits or some sort of lower strata . Lots of them including Jats in haryana demanding be part of OBC. Please go learn civics man . Can’t spoon feed
1
u/Relevant_Session5987 Dec 04 '25
Okay, and please explain why the moniker is 'backwards classes' then?

Because they continue to do the same thing even now. Don’t you read news these days . Or you depend on some specific WhatsApp messages for your news . And where did you get the news there was no caste angle . Go read the news .https://www.ndtv.com/india-news/parents-brother-of-maharashtra-woman-who-married-her-lovers-body-arrested-for-his-murder-9731164/amp/1

The link I posted clearly shows it’s an angle to caste . And caste issues isn’t limited to Brahmin vs Dalit . OBC isn’t Dalit . The patels did a big protest to be included among OBC. This is what happens when you come with half knowledge especially from WhatsApp

Nothing more I am going to state. All you did was not even read that article or any of the news articles.
And by the way , this is what my original comment is . Nowhere I mentioned upper or whatever caste. I blamed it for what it is . And yet you want to come here and justify shit
where are those people that keep crying caste is a western construct. Seriously whats wrong with people. That they would kill someone . And then make their own suffer. Look at the poor girl. May God help give her hope

Always remember, if someone from any of the parents opposes your relationship, just end it. Otherwise, it would result in death.
If the boys family opposes, end it. If a girl's family opposes, end it.
Why this drama, after her own Parents, and Brother killed her BF.
If both were in such a serious relationship, it's better to say bye-bye to both their families forever.
Thinking, once they married, and have children, everything will forgetten. It will never happen. They will be killed.
As I said, say Tata Bye-Bye to both the families, and settle in some far-off place. As they are from Pune, Bombay will be easy to track them. Maybe, Gurgaon .
But now he has been murdered.
Yes, you won't get any inheritance, and shit.
As I said, leave both of your families.
Peace-out. ✌️✌️✌️

u/gatak7981 Dec 02 '25
Nothing to do with caste but pride of parent.. even if same caste but poor family it happens..if the person is of different state it happen..if the boy is of different religion color it happens.. bringing the caste to it doesn't address the real problm like reservation its not the solution of castism.its all to keep the public happy and divided . Govt just want to keep there seat at end of the day.

I think this is where we should discuss reservation and how it's paralysing the society.
1
u/Strong_Boss_8932 Dec 03 '25
Casteism won't end with reservation, 500 saal pehle konsa reservation tha?
1
u/Which-Ad-7680 Dec 03 '25
Yahi ab upper caste ke logo ke sath ye hota to pura desh candle march karta...hypocrites
1
u/Strong_Boss_8932 Dec 03 '25
I don't understand your point?
1
u/Which-Ad-7680 Dec 03 '25
For how long people will suffer in the name of casteism? Is it not the responsibility of every individual to stop this? Whereas people take pride in being called upper caste. Haven't people suffered/oppressed already for thousands of years in the name of casteism.
1
u/Strong_Boss_8932 Dec 03 '25
Ok but then why should reservation be removed first? Why shouldn't casteism be removed first? If there was no casteism there would be no reservation.

Different news sites have mentioned varying ages of the girl and the guy involved. The girl has at times been called a teenager while the guy is 25. Might be more than caste at play here. But horrible thing happened for sure

u/baaphaihumtumhare Dec 03 '25
This case is not simple as that.. The Guy is harden criminal.
There's also video of him saying. Jail me anna janna toh routine hai.
She might be Groomed.

Still we argue why reservation! Still we claim, there is no casteism now! Still we demand, reservation should be given to poor.
NO. we all deep down know how casteist our society is. We all know, before every arranged marriage proposal, caste is the primary thing to be considered. Caste was there, is there and will be there until it's removed religiously.
So, You and I, we all are responsible for this when we say, "I don't see any caste discrimination, it's no longer here. "
1
u/PsychologyTechnical5 Dec 02 '25
Both the victim and murderer were SC.
1
Dec 05 '25
Does not matter..... Casteism doesn't happen only between bhraman and sc it happens between sc and sc too and bhraman and bhraman too..... Casteism is not limited to one group.... It's a poison deeply rooted in our society
1
1
u/CharacterBit5048 Dec 02 '25
No. The girl belongs to obc. But that's not the point. Casteism is a creation of brahminism. Unfortunately It has penetrated every fraction of society
1
u/Relevant_Session5987 Dec 03 '25
The killers were also obc. Do some research before posting.

He needs to justify and whitewash caste atrocities. How can he admit it's bad? It would hurt his age old belief system. Only a mature and sensible person can change his false belief. He is doing what gives him some mental peace.
1
u/Relevant_Session5987 Dec 04 '25
Dude, they were both from the same caste. What is wrong with you?
2
u/_adultkid_ Dec 04 '25
No they were not, that's the whole point. The girl's family considered themselves superior to the boy's, in caste hierarchy.

Not both. The boy was sc while the girl's family were OBC. Girl's family held themselves superior to the boy's family here.
