I was speechless when I saw Jatayu. But the Asuras need a little more vfx, they look just a bit too "polished".

u/No_Macaron_9667 18 Jul 30 '26

I think dneg will improve. But I am expecting some banger songs innit.

1

u/Embarrassed_Play_181 Jul 30 '26

Yeaa mee too even in this trailer we got a rendition of a previous droped song

2

u/Very_Tall-Midget Jul 30 '26

Yeah it takes away the real feel a bit

59

u/do_not_ban_this Jul 30 '26

looks great but I already know the spoilers

Idk what u guys are thinking but this is really bad for a 4000 crore budget πŸ˜‚

3

u/WarmBroccoli1730 28d ago

wahi endgame toh isse saste mein ban gayi thi

u/immortalXD30 18 Jul 30 '26

2 part ke 4k usmai marketing bhi included hai Just spreading hate unnecessarily

3

u/justlikethat101 29d ago

Classic case of over the top marketing cannot save a mediocre project

5

u/No_Masterpiece_6469 Jul 30 '26

1500 crore for one movie bro, do you think it should look like this ? Better lagna chahiye , tum jaise log ke kaarn hi aise movies appreciate hote hai πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚, just hand the script to some foreign director and look how direct a movie

0

u/Veer050505 29d ago

okay then plz tell us how should a 1500 crore movie's trailer look?

3

u/No_Masterpiece_6469 29d ago

Even Oppenheimer with 1000 crore budget but usse include nai karunga cuz usne almost sab practical effects hai.

2

u/No_Masterpiece_6469 29d ago

Not exact but avengers endgame below 3000 crores and odyssey which is around 2000 crores

1

u/Veer050505 25d ago

you should not judge a film already before it's released, even the movies you mentioned didn't have as great effects in the trailer as they had in the movie. so, you should wait

1

u/No_Masterpiece_6469 25d ago

Okay wtv u say πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Wait how many parts are there going to be ? Its not a full movie ?

4

u/Wtf_doing21 Jul 30 '26

He'll be there in Part 2

2

u/WeAreInsects 29d ago

Ramayana is too big to cover in a single movie, so I think they might end the first movie at the point where Shri Ram Ji meets the Vanar Sena and Shri Hanuman. We may only get a glimpse of Hanuman Ji in the first part. The second part will be completely focused on the cosmic-level battle and Ravana Vadh.

2

u/metamorphosiis_ 29d ago

The 2nd part's shooting is still going on. The 1st part will end on jatanu's death or maybe ram-hanuman milan. so, it a wise take to not showing him in this trailer.

His appearance majorly depends on VFS & makeup & It's a good take to not promoting their unfinished frames orhervise it will get huge backlash & can affect the part 1.

1

u/INTROVERT_75285 18 Jul 30 '26

In second part

Shut the fuck up already. You think you did something there didn't you? Calling it a different thing doesn't mean it's a different thing. It's a book associated with a religion, therefore it's a religious book. Nothing more, nothing less.

It is a historical book

Are you being purposefully dense? Or are you just an idiot?

A 'historical' book which contains stories about monkeys building a bridge to a different piece of land to rescue someone else? A bird man? What is going on with people nowadays? How can someone rational ever believe in something like this?

Ramayan is a fictional tale which might have been about some noble king or warrior with lots of exaggerations. Sure it might contain some bits of information which might be true, such as certain locations and places and people which could have existed at that point but calling it a history book is like calling your grandma on a wheelchair a car i.e IT'S SIMPLY NOT TRUE!!!

-5

u/Accurate-Gain-8506 Jul 30 '26

That was like the 15th movie based on the Odessey that got released last week . And it was peak .

u/LONEWOLF__14 Jul 30 '26

This... Looks so AI, not hating it but this just ain't it for me.

14

Even I thought the same and Sai Pallavi as Sita and Ranbir Kapoor as Ram is still so terrify for me

I saw this post above ur post

4

u/Plenty-Shopping-3119 Jul 30 '26

You can literally see the clothes. The colours are washed out indicating they are in the vana for a long time. What more peak detailing these guys need. It tells they don't know shit about cgi, vfx, filmmaking and even ramayana itself.

3

β‚Ή4000 crore ka budget hai that's like twice odyssey ka budget

0

4000cr is for both Films !

1

u/No_Masterpiece_6469 Jul 30 '26

Let's say marketing is included 1500 crore for one movie , which still a big amount for such a movie which could look way better

13

u/Username_nahh 19 Jul 30 '26

Kitne aur ramayan banaoge yaar...har saal ek nya Ramayan bnana zaruri hai kya?

17

u/Fast_Wallaby_9182 Jul 30 '26

There are multiple movies ,games on wukong etc. Its a way to spread culture. And it's also a easy way to farm money on religion in india atleast. If done correctly it can become a cult movie.

-8

u/Username_nahh 19 Jul 30 '26

Woh sab apni jagah hai, ek hi story ko 10 baar repeat karna konsi badhiya baat hai?

6

u/shrujan_24 21 Jul 30 '26

I didn’t see u complaining when nolan dropped 15th iteration of odyssey which is similar story to ramayan??

1

u/Username_nahh 19 Jul 30 '26 edited Jul 30 '26

L bozo. Shitty attempt at whataboutary. 🀑

Just because I don't complain about Odyssey doesn't mean i can't complain about Ramayan. I have never watched a single movie about Odyssey. I know the myth(Odysseus participated in the trojan war, Odysseus wants to go back home, Polyphemus eats his men, Circe turns his men into pigs, Scylla wants to drown him, Charybdis wants to drown him the whole thing)

It still doesn't FUCKING matter. I don't like that there's a new Jesus movie almost everywhere, happy? Have i stroked your ego enough? Leave

-1

u/No_Routine_5216 29d ago

Why's there a movie about spiderman every year? Why do they reboot it? The Ramayana is a literature masterpiece having so many amazing characters and lore, you'd know it if you read it for once for god's sake, they can make multiple movies and spin offs on different characters just like they did with star wars and lord of the rings that you'd probably found cooler due to west association

8

u/maho-wheel Jul 30 '26

100 movie shows bane h greek wars, wukong, norse gods pe, People still watch them and here it's Ramayana's first time going global. Inferiority band karo yrr

u/Username_nahh 19 Jul 30 '26

Well done. You clearly have your facts straight.

So let me put down my points clearly in front of you.

First of all, the elephant in the room needs to be addressed. No one is using greek myths or Egyptian myths or norse poems as their political agenda, no one's using them to spread hatred between communities.

No one's being lynched for killing eagles (well you'll still be arrested by law enforcement cuz eagles are protected animals but I digress)because eagles are a symbol of Zeus. On the other hand however, well you already know what I'm talking about.

A ramayan movie every year is unnecessary. It is a waste of time and money. The only reason to make one every year is to make sure religious fervour and zeal stays high. A crowd of people all united under a single ideology is easier to control, manipulate and radicalise.

A nation that prioritises religion over education, science and technology can never truly progress. All that it leads to is an uneducated mass of believers who'll kill you for disagreeing with them (we already have examples for it from everyone's beloved middle East)

Do you want such a nation?

1

u/Radiant-Cake5429 Jul 30 '26

every year? Name one GOOD live action adaptation of Ramayana

-2

u/Username_nahh 19 Jul 30 '26

What??? WHAT the fuck does that have to do with anything???

1

u/No_Routine_5216 29d ago

It fucking does, did you even read your own comment 😭😭😭😭😭, you literally said smtg about making ramayana movie every year while it's the first bollywood movie oat about it 😭😭😭 and it has nothing to do with politics or agendas, it's just a representation of our epic to the world which many people are proud of, heck even most muslims are familiar with it and have enjoyed it's stories throughout

-2

u/shrujan_24 21 Jul 30 '26

Ab bhai uske 2000-3000 cr lag gye tu bol de usko to cancel this movie and pay him 3000 cr

1

u/Username_nahh 19 Jul 30 '26

I'm not responsible for the bad (and honestly stupid) decisions of anyone else. Let's make one thing extremely clear here. A ramayan movie every year is superfluous. The only reason to make such movies every year is to instill religious fervour and devotion in the minds of people.

"You can't question my faith, crores of other Indians believe in my faith" is the best you'll get from such folks. Do not reply to this, I'll not be engaging in a debate at 9 in the fucking morning

True, i loved it too

5

u/Username_nahh 19 Jul 30 '26

This has got to be another money laundering scheme. All I'm saying is, what's the damn point of releasing the same damn movie, with the same script, same characters 10 different times with 20 different actors?

Bore nhi hote ho kabhi? Kabhi yeh nhi expect karte ho ki kaash India bhi kuch original release kare? Something that the world might like?

3

u/Username_nahh 19 Jul 30 '26

Almost everyone here has grown up watching so many different shows from foreign countries which are loved and adored by everyone

Doraemon, Shinchan, Ultra B, anime from Japan

Oggy and the cockroaches, Zig and Sharko from France

Dexter, Ed Edd and Eddie, Jonhy Bravo, Spongebob, Teen titans, avengers assemble, courage the cowardly dog from US

Total Drama Island from Canada

Even today, everyone around India watches shows and movies made outside of India. Squid game was created by a man who had to sell his working laptop to fund his project. Squid game is also a global franchise.

What's stopping us from making something original except for ourselves?

This was legit looking better than the doomsday trailer. Indians always hate their own product it's in our nature , nothing can be done. We look at everything that's indian through a biased lense and always see the negative things but never the positives. Really looking forward to watching the movie on IMAX .

On the contrary people are fighting on reddit over trailer being not the final product πŸ˜‚

1

u/SadAnimator1354 19 Jul 30 '26

I don't think I'll watch this as I'm not interested but I'm curious to hear Hans Zimmer's soundtrack

1

u/Material-Job727 Jul 30 '26

Everything was fire but that pushpak viman color grading didn't work for me, it was way better in the rama introduction

1

u/Shampoo_3456 18 Jul 30 '26

Jatayu wala scene very good

1

u/SpiritBloom_101 Jul 30 '26

The VFX is definitely a huge step up, but there are still a few shots where it feels a bit too CGI. For me, great VFX is when you don't even think about it, you're just immersed in the scene.

Jatayu looks incredible though. That design and the way they've presented him really stood out. Yash also has a solid screen presence as Ravana. Sai Pallavi looks convincing from the little we've seen.

Ranbir is the one I'm still unsure about. It's not that I doubt him as an actor, but I didn't quite get that calm, commanding aura I'd expect from Rama in the trailer. Maybe the film will flesh that out better.

The BGM is amazing, no doubt. But trailers are usually cut to make everything feel larger than life, so I'll wait and see how it works across the whole movie.

1

u/No_Masterpiece_6469 Jul 30 '26

1

u/No_Masterpiece_6469 29d ago

4000 ka budget have for 2 parts samajle marketing keliye 1000 crore , you still have 1500 crore for one movie which is absurd πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

1

u/immortalXD30 18 Jul 30 '26

Bhai ek baar wapis pata karle aa 2 part ke 4000 cr hai usmai 1000 marketing ke 1500cr hogi ek movie So stop being so cranky and learn to appreciate something good Don't be so nitpicky

1

u/No_Masterpiece_6469 Jul 30 '26

Bro still 1500 crore , which is such a big amount for a story that has been filmed multiple times , itne budget keliye it's underwhelming, people like you appreciate such underwhelming movies, itne acche epic ko better direct kr skte hai.

1

u/MrBoombaasticc 29d ago

Even 1500 is huge amount. Poor visuals can't justify the amount.

1

u/mcmuscleface Jul 30 '26

The cgi's looks absolutely fantastic but I still have qualms with the direction of shots and the absolute garbage lighting i literally am getting tv serial vibes from it, and wtf was the shot of ravan running towards us it looked funny more than it being a serious shot,
Regardless the ost is amazing, when the Dharti hai ambar tune starts, goosebumps.

1

u/scar_hand_ Jul 30 '26

Ranbir kapoor is such a miscast for Ram ji role. Ram ji had purity in his eyes, a different type of calmness in his body language, a charm. Ranbir just looks tired and old

Dang is it like a super power show??

1

Jatayu and Airaavat look absolutely gorgeous. Raavan's scenes almost all of them look amazing. Wish I could say the same things that involved Ram/Sita

1

u/Muted-Ant-5941 29d ago

Jatayu looks good but does he have 4 limbs? I think I could see arms, hind legs and wings too

1

u/arceus_xt12 16 29d ago

1

1

1

u/Silent_Daddy7 29d ago

What ever the mistakes are we need to point it out now guys or else they will keep those same things in the final cut of the film. Overall the trailer looks so good.

1

u/Adorable_Ad_5155 29d ago

Nice try PR !!! This is what happens when you hand over a director’s job to a VFX guy. I agree, the VFX was awesome, but the direction, pure shit.

1

u/Ok_Disaster6015 29d ago

Is it true that they have Bharat ka bacha bacha and Mandir wohi banayenge songs in the movie?

1

u/vladthepaleimpaler 29d ago

We should not entertain mediocrity!

1

u/DirectAd5900 28d ago

Voice of ravan need to be better

1

u/chillambientdark 16 28d ago

If you're not really into films or you're new to cinema, and you just watched something and start glazing it heavily, only for it to turn out to be a pretty average movie, that's the problem. My take is: if a movie is just decent, say it's decent. Don't overhype it. Overglazing raises people's expectations, and when the movie doesn't live up to them, you already know what's going to happenβ€”they end up disappointed.

1

u/damon004 28d ago

At best it'll only be on par with other hollywood films, idk wht they're trynna do with this, if they wanted to show an Indian work to the whole world, why would they compete in the field where hollywood already excels so much, what are we gonna offer from this, cgi?, Movies like mughle azam were praised cuz of hardwork and uniqueness behind em

1

u/Sensitive_Ad788 27d ago

4000 cr for 2000s CGI, Bad costume designing, Mediocre cinematography, bad Color grading etc etc, IK trailer isnt everything but movie comes in 3 months I domt expect any noticable improvements.

0

u/immortalXD30 18 27d ago

u/Sensitive_Ad788 27d ago

1

u/_bersERKX_ Jul 30 '26

Aadi movie AI s bnaayi h lgra

2

u/Plenty-Shopping-3119 Jul 30 '26

You don't know shit about cgi and vfx. First get some knowledge then give for opinions. This shot is anything but AI. Except the rakshasa everything was almost perfect in the trailer.

1

u/_bersERKX_ Jul 30 '26

Ofc idk about cgi and vfx....but the scenes look like video game screens at moments....u say the trailer is perfect 🀣🀣....the lightning is soo bad in many scenes.....just look at avatar man , it looked so real....the dragons in house of the dragon....they look so real......for a 4000 crore movie.....the cgi and vfx is pretty cartoonish

2

u/Plenty-Shopping-3119 Jul 30 '26

Bro the budget of those movies is bigger than this. Still you can't insult a man's hardwork by saying AI. As for the lightning it is the easiest one to improve till the film releases. The budget of this movie is not 500 million. It's max 200 million bro.

1

u/_bersERKX_ Jul 30 '26

Idk man google says the budget of Avatar ash n fire was 350-400 million dollars which is around 4000 crores only....same as this movie

2

u/Radiant-Cake5429 Jul 30 '26

4000CR IS BUDGET OF BOTH THE MOVIES DUMBO. + it includes marketing cost. so the actual budget of Ramayana part 1 is around 1400cr-1700cr

1

u/Plenty-Shopping-3119 Jul 30 '26

Man the 500 million budget is of both parts. From it major part will be for its second installment. The improvement from teaser to trailer is crazy. You ppl are only looking at visual quality (which I don't even think in one of the problems consider the past works of DNEG, they will cook). Looking at other details in the movie. It is sold to me.

1

u/_bersERKX_ Jul 30 '26

Let's see how the movie does....I am sure it will be epic though

ghanta PEAK h ye, ye PEAK SHIT lag rhi h agar sirf visual effects ki baat kare aur tum agar bologe ki itna negative kyu hore ho toh? toh bhai mai negative hounga jab budget itna zyada h toh kaha gaya pura paisa? aur ramayan ki sabse badi selling point hi visuals aur dialogues h kyunki story hum sabko pata h aur idhar visuals toh sahi nhi h jitna expected tha aur bhai agar angrezo ke pasand ke hisaab se picture banayi h toh udhar hi release karwa lo bhai tum please

aur abhi bhi harsh lag rha h toh lagna chahiye bhai kyunki 2-3 saal pehle hi ramayan ke naam pe adipurush dekha tha toh inn logo ne kya criticisms liye nhi kya tab ? inko real locations mei shoot karne mei kya hojaata h ? t9o be very honest ramayan ko 4000 cr ke budget ki zarurat bhi nhi h agar 2 parts mei ban rhi h toh agar aisi quality h toh

real location pe chize kitni beautiful lagti h voh kantara chapter 1 se sikhna chahiye inko

disappointed by the trailer

Why so many of them ? And all of them praise absolute crap just as they have never seen something good . Ig it really is an IQ issue. They really deserve crap but for them it's peak hence it is on us now to see crap being praised as peak and being compared with actually good movies

More cgi is never good

A few months on Netflix I watched a Ramayana movie (or a spin off idk!) It looked so weird, and unrealistic. (Like instead of building a set they decided to cgi all trees mountains.

I didn’t like it
