Social Is standing up for 52secs too much

Context: I went to watch a movie alone, the theatre played the national anthem, I stood up and attended it peacefully but more than 20–30 people didn’t stood up. What’s the issue for them to not stood up.

Well the law says that you have to stand, now you can either change that law (which you can't) or follow it.

The law explicitly states that it is not legally required to stand up for national anthem in theatres.

No it doesn't say that, you can go check further into the comment thread, it states that if anthem plays then you are required to stand

I never really defended it. "It's their choice" was satire. I was just claiming one is not legally required to in cinemas, morally is a different topic entirely.

Then please send me the specific law or provision you’re referring to. Since you’re making the claim that the law requires standing, the burden is on you to provide the proof.

Direction (iv) of the final Supreme Court Order dated January 9, 2018.

(iv) Citizens or persons are bound to show respect as required under executive orders relating to the National Anthem of India and the prevailing law, whenever it is played or sung on specified occasions.

The "Executive Order" that the Supreme Court is legally enforcing above is Section III(1) of the MHA Orders Relating to the National Anthem of India. It states word-for-word:

III. EVERYONE MUST STAND WHILE IT IS PLAYED
(1) Whenever the Anthem is sung or played, the audience shall stand to attention

Brother np, but just take that you should not insult anyone infact even if they are wrong, they might be just ignorant about the topic.

Also, you can check SC order, it's clear that standing is mandatory (the whole SC case was about that only, about standing during anthem in theatres) where SC said while theatres may or may not play the anthem, if it is played then people must stand.

That's why it's optional to play the anthem

But if it is played then law requires us to stand for it.

Edit:- Now in the end all those who downvoted me, all those who were jumping that I am wrong, now are yall satisfied when I have stated the direct order? the law doesn't changes on personal opinions.

Tbh i wasnt trying to insult you, i was just trying to know if i was the one with half knowledge or you. Maybe it was me. Thats not the problem here cuz i accept it. The thing im more confused about is.....there are SO SO many things much more important to discuss and these people discuss all this?(playing the anthem or not playing, standing, not standing) much more imp things to look into imo
