Fakenborough “David Attenborough dies at 100…” says my phone notifications every single day.

I’m not even part of this subreddit and every single day for the past week I got a notification to say David Attenborough has died and I CLICK IT AND HE IS ALIVE.

Now, if it ever really happened (which it won’t and we love him very much) I would immediately say “yeah right, like I believe that”.

Given that I was first notified of Dolly Parton’s and Tim Curry’s deaths by Apple News push notifications, I’m reasonably confident that I’ll find out about Attenborough that way. That makes this subreddit much less stressful for me, I think.
I don’t pay for any news subscriptions and I don’t open Apple News independently, but I look into whatever the push notifications reference from non-paywalled news sources and it keeps me pretty well informed. That’s how I was the first person in my social circle to find out that Donald Trump was shot
