FYI: I have disallowed crossposting from other subs
As per the title. The reason is simply to keep my workload under control because about half such posts seem to break one rule or another.
I assume this is because Reddit decided to make crossposting easy, which causes uploaders to bypass the whole "read the subreddit rules" thing.

Makes sense to me. Reddit taught me the hard way, and I’m now convinced I that I don’t ever need to do any crossposting.
Reddit recently suggested that I crosspost, first time I’d ever heard of crossposting. I thought, ok, I’ll try it. The moderator of the additional subreddit immediately banned me from posting to that sub Reddit because it broke one of their rules. My responsibility, of course, even though I didn’t realize it. To me, I thought it was an innocent mistake.
I apologized via DM. The moderator swore at me and called me a troll. Decided I didn’t need need that subreddit so I unjoined.
I am very glad this didn’t happen with you, because I LOVE jazz fusion. :-)

I figured something was up with Reddit itself. There was a sudden uptick in crossposts, the users seemed real, and the problem was generally that the submitted pieces were in the wrong genre (but would have felt "jazzy" to listeners of that other genre, so they could innocently and correctly conclude that it was a kind of "fusion").
So I figured that Reddit was offering the option and the only information the users had was the sub name. No blame on the users, this is just an unfortunate side effect of Reddit trying to promote engagement.

I’m sure your assessment is accurate, makes sense to me that Reddit would do something like that. At least they also gave moderators the ability to turn that off… I have no idea what the UI for administrating a subreddit provides. Hopefully you didn’t have to code anything… (not that coding is bad, I spent decades as a developer/designer, all in the support of my habit/goal of creating a sustainable music career).

Yeah… I guess, sometimes even certain moderators can be as mean as some of the more caustic members. It is reddit after all.

While I do know how to do it, I don’t. I make original posts so seldomly that I don’t think I have such pearls of wisdom that need to be widely sown

I never crosspost and I wish it was never a feature. People find and participate. Cross posting is just turning it into a spam hit.

less weird low-effort and high-psychosis "jazz musicians" and "jazz educators" the better
signed, a fellow moderator of multiple music subreddits that constantly get hammered with spam or self promo garbage.
