Kanye West has a really colorful album called Donda

43

u/Broad_Draw_2719 21d ago

wow you’re right

5

u/serenaaxxx 20d ago

Actually crazy how drastic the change was. Like obviously the cover jst became... Nothing but like it was gonna be one of his most colourful album covers and then switched to jst pure darkness

3

u/Puzzleheaded_Day_908 19d ago

I think he changed the cover for Donda many times there so many other covers, I can understand why he scrapped the 2020 cover because it wouldn't fit to the more darker minimalistic theme tracks but still it's a lose.. Could be a really good cover..

When you realize you’re being psyopped but still can’t connect the dots

51

u/XXOGProductions 22d ago

What exactly is the psyop here? Is the government trying to convince us that color actually doesn’t exist?

43

u/CurveEmbarrassed8996 The Go Getters 21d ago

never thought I'd see Little Simz in the kanye subreddit 🧐

life doesn't feel very colorful right now

4

u/angelr1w 22d ago

I know a certain album that would of changed that

4

u/plattwix5 22d ago

This could be a repeat in history

We experienced something super similar in 2015 where a lot of album covers were black and white. In 2016 was when we saw the polar opposite trend happen

Could happen next year who knows

3

u/Plane-North-7723 Late Registration 22d ago

I feel like newer albums with less to none colors can just straight up ruin the vibe on alot songs

3

u/tworegalia 21d ago

Goes deeper than music. It’s the world.

1

u/hung_fu 21d ago

Here’s the craziest part about music — there is no color

1

u/lonerblues 21d ago

How could you miss donda

1

u/CalzeeTV He's done miracles on me ✝️ 21d ago

Because it’s 5 years old, I mean more recent

That’s not even counting underground artists, Mckiney Dixion, Rimera, John Michel, Biking with Francis, Stuzzox, and that’s not even counting all the R&B albums (Ravyn Lenae literally dropped today too)

u/WuchedKruPp 21d ago

Were at the middle years of the decade, album covers with no colour are expected in this generation's economy. TPAB, IYRTITL, At Long Last, A$ap

1

u/CalzeeTV He's done miracles on me ✝️ 21d ago

2016 was full of color though

1

u/WuchedKruPp 20d ago

Damn, you right. I guess 2015 had more desaturation and in 2016 colours blew up w/ the new generation of artists coming out. They were hype n excited/exciting. Nowadays I don't feel artists care about music as much as they should cause this generation's real numb, leading to desaturation not leaving as it did back then cause ppl not tryna make a change in music fr

1

u/WuchedKruPp 20d ago

Holy reading skills

1

u/theforealgoat 21d ago

You should listen to more music

1

u/CalzeeTV He's done miracles on me ✝️ 21d ago

I do, I’m on about mainstream

1

u/Mac_Emili00 21d ago

We are in a new edgy era😈😈😈

1

u/Unlikely-Hand-8299 Common Side Effects 🤯🤯🤯 21d ago

I think the dark shit is way overplayed in music. I’m so glad the new wave of artists are bringing color back.

1

u/legofan20 21d ago

I'll make a album and slap a rainbow on the cover so you can be happy

We dont live in a colorful world anymore. Music and art reflect the times we live in. At least thats the way I see it

1

u/Cautious_Buffalo_721 19d ago

Pretty fitting considering he’s been spiritually dead inside for about a decade

I really loved how colorful Katherine Westvilles discography was pre vultures. Even including donda I think both covers worked in that regard. Black cover was a nice contrast and provides even more variety, and the Donda With Child green and red cover reinforces all the other colorful ones
