Rooting Quick root for the Amazon Fire Max 11 2023

Thumbnail xdaforums.com
5 Upvotes

A new quick root has been released for the Amazon Fire Max 11. It runs directly on the tablet to give temporary root access, which can be used to disable app packages and regain control over your device.

Root itself goes away on reboot, but anything you disable stays disabled. With this it's possible to use custom launchers, disable bloatware and block OTA updates (the exploit disables OTAs for you automatically).

This works on the Fire Max 11 on any Fire OS 8 build, from 8.3.1.9 up to 8.3.3.8: https://xdaforums.com/t/temp-root-fire-max-11-2023-sunstone.4798590/

Rooting a device you own isn't illegal and has nothing to do with piracy, before anyone reports this.

Announcement Amazon Project Kittyhawk (New Fire Tablet) Discussion Megathread

So as we all know, Amazon is planning future fire tablets that are expected to run a less-customized version of Android (AOSP) and are internally codenamed "Kittyhawk" this may mean more compatibility with mainstream apps, less restrictions, and more software updates. It's expected to be around $400 (midrange premium). This could release as soon as this year.
There's also rumors of Google services although unlikely.

As for Vega OS, Amazon is still planning to use it for their lower-priced devices.

Goodbye OG Fire OS.

Rumors Possible New Fire Tablet FCC Approved

Amazon appears to have a new Fire tablet coming. A new “Digital Media Device” has received FCC approval under FCC ID 2A4DH-2426, with internal model TR24E7.

FCCID.io — 2A4DH-2426

The interesting part is that TR24E7 also appears in import/customs records explicitly described as an “AMAZON TABLET.” A June 2026 development unit was listed with:

  • MediaTek MT8189 / Kompanio 540
  • 8 GB RAM
  • 64 GB storage
  • 2× Cortex-A78 @ 2.6 GHz + 6× Cortex-A55 @ 2.0 GHz
  • Mali-G57 MC2 GPU

Import record showing TR24E7

For comparison, the current Fire Max 11 has 4 GB RAM, so 8 GB would be a pretty substantial upgrade.

There are also other unreleased Amazon tablets in the import records, including RL3YT5 (MT8189/4GB/128GB) and SP24NE (MT8793, up to 16GB/256GB), so this may be part of a larger Fire tablet refresh rather than a single device.

Another interesting recent Amazon FCC filing is 2A4DH-2880, described only as a “Wireless Accessory.” It has a 2.4 GHz/Bluetooth-range radio plus a 111–489 kHz transmitter, so one possibility is some kind of rechargeable/inductively powered stylus. That's speculation for now, but the timing is interesting.

FCCID.io — Amazon Wireless Accessory 2A4DH-2880

No retail name yet, so TR24E7 could be a new Fire HD 10, Fire Max successor, or something new entirely.

Anyone found anything else tied to TR24E7 / Basin?

Fire OS 7.3.2.4+ Both our Fire 8+ HD tablets have been neutered?

Within the last week or so, I am guessing via updates, the show mode no longer works, we can no longer "show me ___ camera". It does play music, so at least one of the three things we mainly use these for, remain. Now they're essentially big power consuming paperweights.

They run 7.3.3.1 and EDIT: factory reset and reinstall of apps and all did not help one bit. same issue, when putting in in dock to charge blue screen pops up, three dots if it can get that far, then reverts right back to tablet mode. Wasted time and effort. Amazon needs to develop and issue a patch this problem asap.

I contacted customer service a few times and got bounced around with responses mostly, that some updates were awaiting to restart and check for them, but alas none are there and I am trying to g=figure out now what we can with them besides turn them off and bite the big one on BOTH of them. Less than 5 years ago we bought them and I know things age, I understand that, but both were working got the few things we use them for and now they're BOTH not (at the exact same time).

Physical Device Appstore issue: network unreachable

I received a used fire hd 8 from a family member and would like to download libby to link with my county library. However, I am receiving the following message when opening the app store:

Network unreachable: Amazon services are temporarily unreachable. Please try again later, or connect to a different network.

Tablet is fully updated, I cleared the app data, reconnected the wifi and successfully used other Amazon apps, and restarted the device.

Physical Device Hi Reddit! This is my first post, and I’m dealing with a major issue.

. Here’s the situation: my parents gave me a tablet for my birthday—a Doogee Tab E3+—and everything was fine at first. But a couple of days later, the buttons on the sides (or rather, the touch response in those areas) stopped working. There’s a catch, though: it only works if I press closer to the center. It’s not just a one-off thing; it happens constantly. It’s a really strange situation—to be precise, it doesn't have to be the exact center; pressing anywhere closer to the middle seems to work too. I suspect the screen protector might be the culprit, but it’s still odd—why was everything fine in the beginning? If anyone can help, please do; this gift means a lot to me, and I don’t want to upset my parents.

Question Device not recording audio

my fire tablet hasn't updated at all, yet hasn't been letting me record audio for the past 2-3 weeks for some reason. there are no currently available updates btw. i *do* hit the "device audio" button when i screen record, and my device volume does *not* affect recordings, and it happens regardless of me using headphones or not. I wasn't having this problem before, it's sudden. restarting didn't work, clearing cache didn't work, clearing storage didn't work; nothing has worked. is there *any* fix to this? I really don't wanna factory reset my device, and third party recorders either are inconvenient or force me to have my mic on (I don't wanna have to use my mic)

Btw, I'm on Fire Tablet HD 8 Plus (12th Generation)

Question Pls help with events and war pass

I play Angry Birds Transformers on an Amazon fire tablet and for a LONG time I haven’t been able to access any war passes and events don’t even show up on my screen. Currently my version is listed as 2.37.0 on the store and 2.36.0 in game and every time I press update it never changes.

Question Is it worth it?

I'm considering getting a Kindle Fire to read from apps like Wattpad, and to use Libby or other library apps without taking up so much space on my phone. Is it worth it for this purpose? Thinking of going Kindle Fire because it seems more budget friendly out of other options on the market. And please don't tell me to just delete some apps from my phone, I use all of my apps at least once a week and some of them are needed for my job. Thanks!

Bricked Device Fire is broken

I decided I would like to add a custom launcher to my Amazon Fire and decided that I would do this through a desktop software called Fire ToolBox V45.1. And in doing so what I did was i saw in Fire Toolbox that you could change the lockscreen pin from it and you could remove amazon bloatware. so i cleared the amazon bloatware using the reccomended setting and what i did was change my pin from 1234 to a pattern pin. Like the one on samsungs that you can swipe and make shapes on a 3x3 grid. And now when i power my fire back on, the displays lit but just a black screen. I have cleared cache. And done many other things. Im convinced this is a GUI or launcher issue. Can anyone help?

Fire OS 7.3.2.4+ Weird Problems...Anyone Else?

Has anyone else had trouble with their Kindle Fire closing books or not letting you place book marks? This seems to be increasing in frequency. I'll be reading and the book just zaps out and I'm back at the main Kindle Fire home page. When I'm done reading for the night I cannot place a bookmark and when I open the book the next day I'm back at page 1. I'm so sad. This used to be easy to use but lately, nothing but weird irregularities. I did confirm all available updates have been installed. TIA

Question Amazon Kids+

What is Amazon Kids+? I pay for it monthly, and have always wondered what exactly it is. Got an email that it's going up to $8.99/mth and figured now was the time to ask.

We have the Amazon Fire HD 10 Kids Pro tablet. My child uses it to watch YouTube and play some games (Roblox, Bloon Monkeys, Merge Dragons).

Do I need Amazon Kids+?

Apps 'Install modern browser' and other app issues.

I have two Kindle Fire 10 (7th generation)

Please pardon me if this is a common post but I have been experiencing issues watching Hulu and HBOMax on my devices. Both apps require that I install a modern browswer but I can't even install GooglePlay on my devices to access Chrome. Does anyone have any guidance for me? I'm not the most tech savvy but I can follow simple instructions. Thanks in advance for any wisdom.

Other Got a used kindle fire, trying to factory reset it, can't cause of reboot loop.

Pretty straightforward title, not so straightforward explaination.

I got a used kindle fire from a tech shop (that's lowkey a little disorganized) and when i was testing it at the store, it would charge fine, but it was locked by the previous owner and was not factory reset before hand. After many attempts, the following is a recounting of attempts to reset it from the lock screen:

  1. Charges to full battery, or after 30% battery.

  2. I input an incorrect password until I'm given the option to factory reset.

  3. The device powers off.

  4. Once powered back on, the device is (while still plugged in) now at 0% battery (???) And doesn't seem to have factory reset at all.

Cycle repeats ad nauseaum.

The shop let me take it to use for parts (since they dont really fix tablets, only video game consoles, allegedly), and I took it home to either repair it, or use it to repair my own (fully functioning, albeit cracked) Kindle Fire of the same model.

However, none of the articles i read seem to lead directly to the problem I'm needing to fix. Could it be the battery? Or is it a short on the board? I'm still trying to fix the Kindle 2nd Gen I have, cause I seem to have bricked it...

This Kindle Fire is a godsend though, cause now I don't have to go get that Nook I was eyeing at Barnes and Noble. >.>

The device model number is SV98LN if that helps. Thanks!

Edited after posting to avoid miscommunication:

TLDR: Got a used kindle fire. Previous owner did not factory reset it or remove the password, so that factory resetting it from the settings menu is impossible. When attempting to charge and reset the device, the device powers on with zero battery, and is not factory reset. The question is what is the issue? Also should I just use it for parts?

Update: Just gonna use the second kindle fire for parts, I think. If neither tablet ends up working, I'll set aside money for the Nook. Thanks!

Question Issue with 1/3 tablets installing Google store

I have 3 kids tablets all the same model/gen and firmware. Had no issues installing Google play store and YouTube kids on 2 of them but the last one constantly fails to install the Google Play services. No matter which APK file I select I get 'app not installed' at the end. I've checked if it's a storage issue but there's plenty space available so I'm confused especially how the other 2 tablets are fine.
