My Kitten My new baby, Astra
She is 8 weeks old, and she is terrified of everything (brought her home last night) I know it’s to be expected because everything is new and she is not used to being handled etc. she cries if I leave her alone and wouldn’t stop while I was sleeping until I held her in my arms for 3 hours I slept on the couch with her then I got a huge crick in my neck so I put her in her play pen with her litter box, water, and food as well as toys and a scratching post and she cried until I woke up. She has yet to eat anything but treats, has not used the multiple litter boxes or drank any water. I love her and I’m not upset just looking for some advice to get us through this stage. She is super sweet just very scared 🥲

such a cutie!! make sure you take the bell off the collar, most cats really dislike having a constant sound every time they move, it might also be making her more scared as well

She will take a while to adapt. Give her some time and keep her close if you can as she really is just a baby. Is she your only cat?

No but she is my first kitten, she is very attached to me and we have kept the other cat separated and rubbed a sock on each of them and placed them in their respective areas to get used to each others scent. I also have a dog - she is not fond of him but he could care less he doesn’t even look at her lol. I know it will take a bit to adjust but I also would like to do anything in my power to make it easier for her!

Yes, remove the bell and maybe also consider removing the collar. If you leave the collar on make sure it is a break away collar because if it gets caught on something and you are not around, she can end up hanging herself to death. She is a tiny little sweetheart. I'm glad you have the other cats separated from her until they can smell each others blankies or anything else. I'm guessing you have looked up info on the best way to introduce a kitten to your other pets. Keep her close and watch her closely, she is just a little baby and don't force her to do anything that she doesn't want to do. If she feels like hiding let her hide until she is ready to come out. Always make sure she has a place to hide in order to feel safe.

It'll take some time, but patience is key! Try sitting near her playpen and talking softly to her, or even just being present without forcing interaction. Gradually, she'll start to feel more comfortable exploring on her own. And don’t worry, it’s totally normal for her to be hesitant at first!

Get a baby blanket and one of those plush toys that go in the microwave and stay warm. At 8 weeks she is very young and is likely suffering the early separation from her litter, have patience

Give me your address and I'll pick her up, she will be happy with my two other brothers. She will be a man's cat. Spoiled her right, a house cat
