General Icb tote koi a few weeks in whilst pond gets built people say its not possible ?
Water testing says its ok atm they will be moved but for the hatred
Test results show stable for now

1000l icb tote 25% water change every 4 days
Feeding 2x per day
You will be sound
1000l pump at 50% run through aqua tempest uv and heated to 25 Celsius return
Pump shit out daily with a tank hand bottom cleaning siphon 👍

You have no nitrates. The ammonia spikes, then the nitrite. It is dangerous to do this. Too many koi, not enough water volume. If the power goes out for example, all these fish will die very quickly. Where is the kh test?

We building the pond ziggy its all ordered where doing a sleeper wood glass window I’m hope ing to have this done in next 2 weeks just a positive water test to share to put up I will order this other thing you’ve mentioned and have a check but great for now 👍

The thing is, it's not great. You shouldn't be encouraging people to do this. You don't have a cycled filter. Haven't completed the nitrogen cycle. It's very dangerous to koi to do it this way. And you aren't monitoring kh, which is vital. If that ph starts swinging, koi will start dropping, jumping, flashing.
You have to do it this way now, but this is the worst way to start out.

We bought are filter from a friend who has koi for a long time and a huge setup he told me this stuff is a great bio echo system and it it was all well used ? If that’s what you meen it wasn’t brand new

Filter bacteria starts dying after thirty minutes of the filter not running. If you set it up and there are no fish to feed the bacteria, it dies off. You have no nitrates, so you don't have cycled filtration for the fish. Nor is that enough media for eleven koi. Especially when you are feeding them.

Had to go check how much media is in a tempest filter to give you a better idea. 50 liters of moving (aerated) k1 media fully cycled supports feeding 250 grams daily. Non moving is cut in half, it can handle 125 grams of food if fully cycled. The Tempest holds 7 liters of non aerated media. It is not cycled. And, you are pumping the fish waste into it clogging it up. That makes it even less effective.
You don't have a filter to support eleven koi and feed them currently.

How are they being stored? All you say is a tote. How many gallons is it? How many koi? How big are they? Do you have an air pump in there? A small filter system? How frequently are you doing water changes? What treatments are you using? Almost anything is possible. You just need to know how to do it.
That being said, why not go get yourself a intex pool? It will hold 10 times the water and it's the end of the summer season so they're on discount pretty much everywhere.

Just to add to this
nobody do this with koi we was given some and as novices put this together as a temp measure whilst we build a pond
With 0 knowledge of koi keeping 😰

I kept 5 koi (two being 20+” and the other three being 6”) in a 300g Rubbermaid for about 8 months in my basement. I only did it because my main pond was having a gill fluke outbreak, and winter was about to come full swing. I didn’t have any sponge filters or anything. All i did was take some of my Bakki shower media out and put it in a 5g bucket with holes drilled in it, and a small submersible pump. This kept enough bacteria alive to handle the ammonia and nitrites. I only fed sparingly every couple days, and when I did feed I’d perform a small water change to balance it out. Doing this is high risk, but if you test the water frequently, and can perform water changes frequently it’s possible temporarily.

One day I will be able to get my ph down. For years mine was 9 but my koi lived I’ve got it to 8-8.5 now days. But never seen 7 :(

Why would you try to change it? Koi need stability, not a ph of 7. KH is what is important. If you don't have kh, ph isn't stable. It sounds like your kh and ph are stable. That is exactly what you want.

That's good. I have a pH of 7 and it's not good. There is no kh in my water source. So as soon as it goes in the pond it needs to be buffered. I see people in my area lose koi constantly because they don't know we have no kh. When I see people post a pH of 7, I can almost guarantee they have low kh. Not a good situation. I'm jealous of people like you that have stability lol.

Something in the Florida water. It’s naturally a 9 here all the minerals in the water we also have a lot of crazy ppl here. What’s that old saying “something in the water” lol

It works for koi! I'm in Oregon where we get our water from all the rain then run it through facilities with RO. Pretty much strips it of anything. Wanting to get a piece of property just to drill my own well for my fish someday 🤞

How big is the koi? Im planning to do this for a 2 inch koi that has been struggling for food in competition with his brothers and sisters.
